On a frozen wintry day, Amogae kneels and drinks beside his wife’s burial mound. In his dreams, her specter comes to him and tells him not to sleep on the cold earth. He reaches for her and asks to stay with her, but she tells him that they’ll be together forever later, and that right now, he needs to return to the children. Gil-hyun and Gil-dong search for their father, who’s still with their mother. When they find him, they yell because they’re alarmed by his unmoving form, but he’s soon shaken awake.

Meanwhile, the cruel mistress of the house gets ready to move back to her family home, fearing the retribution of the current queen if she learns of her dead husband’s treachery. But her eyes are full of poison.

At the brothel, Secretary Eom and Amogae share drinks over dinner while discussing his astounding return from imprisonment and near-death. Amogae thanks Secretary Eom for all his help and reaffirms his promise to ensure that he rises to a high position.

Soon, Amogae’s family and their neighbor’s also get ready to move from their master’s household. Across woodlands and seaside cliffs, they journey to Ikhwari, a haven place for runaways, thieves, and generally people who have nothing to lose. Along the way, Gil-dong notices a pink bird following them, and believes it’s the spirit of his mother watching over them.

As we approach the village, we’re given a closer introduction to Soboori’s group of bandits. Yonggae, who we were introduced to earlier, sits on a boat until he sees a pretty woman walk by. He quickly stands up and practices his pickup lines before greeting her, but she’s already flirting with another man. His friend who corrects the rejected Yonggae on his table manners and etiquette is fallen nobleman SEGUL (Kim Do-yoon).

When they scheme together to cheat at poker, impious Buddhist monk ILCHUNG (Heo Jung-do) catches them in the middle of the act. Late at night, they all gather for a secret meeting at Amogae’s hut, and ordinary KEUTSAE (Lee Ho-chul) takes a final look out before closing the door.

The main purpose of the meeting is to discuss their next raid. Amogae wants to drink while they talk, but he’s quickly shot down by Soboori. The bandits argue between raiding Jangchung and Geummaljae, but Amogae suggests that they stop robbing and start their own business. Yonggae thinks that they’re not cut out for trade, but Amogae mentions Yonggae’s father, who was executed for being a thief, and that touches a nerve.

The entire room breaks out into a brawl, but after bloodying noses and bruising each other, they gather back in a circle. It seems like Amogae won the round because now there’s a large jug of alcohol in the middle of the room, and everyone defers to him.

He describes his plan to produce black linen (highly coveted by their Chinese neighbors), barter it with Chinese merchants for silk on the black market, and sell the silk legitimately to noblemen. He even offers to put up the initial capital for the production. At first, the whole black linen manufacturing line consists of two looms and two women, but soon that expands to four, and then many more.

As time passes, Gil-hyun continues learning his letters and Gil-dong teaches his sister to walk, but their father is no longer there for important family moments because he’s busy with his impending business.

When the night of their first black linen/Chinese silk transaction arrives, the men pile into a fishing boat with their goods hidden on board. They’re stopped by local coast guards, who they appease with a bribe of dried shrimp. Their deal with the Chinese goes smoothly, and they end up with a large net profit.

Unfortunately, a black-sailed pirate ship approaches them with nefarious intentions. Thankfully, Amogae notices them before they’re too close and wraps up their precious silk cargo in waterproof lining before jumping into the water. The others are initially confused, but they take the cue when the bullying pirates barge onboard and start rummaging through their belongings. They find some remaining black linen cloth and take it as tribute.

Although Yonggae wants to argue against the pirates’ intrusion, Soboori stops him, because Amogae has been in the water too long without oxygen. The pirates’ last warning to Soboori and the others is that these waters belong to them, and that half of any profit made on them will be theirs to take. Trying to get them to leave as quickly as possible, Soboori just nods and acquiesces.

When the pirates are no longer in sight, they fish out Amogae, who’s unconscious and blue from lack of breathing. They hurry back to Amogae’s house where his children are playing in the front yard. They’re shocked to see their father on Keutsae’s back and start crying.

After they settle the unconscious man into bed, Ilchung holds a large needle against Amogae’s chest to perform acupuncture therapy, but his hands tremble in fear. Seeing this, Gil-dong places a hand over the anxious monk’s and says that he’ll hold him in place. After a nerve-wracking moment, Amogae spits up the water clogging his lungs and comes back to life.

Later, Soboori readies some boiling water for his revived friend when Gil-dong approaches him. Thinking that his father was corrupted by Soboori’s influence, Gil-dong tells him not to hang out with Amogae anymore. But Soboori laughs and tells Gil-dong to think closely about who really caused his father’s transformation.

Amogae and the others debrief on what happened at their night smuggling encounter, and after some investigation, they find out that the pirates are in league with the coast guards. By purposefully losing large sums of money to the coast guards, the leader of the pirate crew has been able to cash in on tipoffs and evade the huge bounty on the leader’s head that would turn a slave into a commoner, a commoner to a titled man, a titled man to a higher position, and so on.

Amogae decides to use this to his advantage and hatches a plan: after luring the head pirate into a night of gambling with Ilchung, they’ll kidnap him. Amogae kills two birds with one stone by bringing Secretary Eom back into the mix.

A flashback shows that when Amogae promised Secretary Eom that he’d elevate him to a higher position, and had given him a good luck talisman that was supposed to aid him during the national civil servant exam. On his way home from failing said exam, Secretary Eom holds the wooden talisman and curses himself for believing the lies of a honey-tongued thief.

However, that’s when cries to catch the fleeing head pirate arise. After hearing the calls that clearly state that whoever catches the pirate would be rewarded with a great position, Secretary Eom promptly bops the incoming pirate on the head with his wooden talisman.

He sees Amogae and the gang coming toward him from the direction of the knocked down pirate and realizes that Amogae had kept his word and repaid his favor in a different way, but with the same desired result. And just like that, Secretary Eom becomes Magistrate Eom.

He holds the gaudiest celebration that the Ikhwari town has ever seen for his official inaugural parade. Amogae nods to him, and Soboori winks at him from the admiring crowds, so Magistrate Eom flashes them the universal sign for drinks afterwards.

When they have dinner together Amogae asks if the newly instated magistrate’s accommodations are adequate, and he replies that he’s been bothered by the sound of rats in his building. Amogae says that he’d like to donate some funds to the magisterial office once he profits from his “fishing” trips (aka smuggling operations) to repair the building, but that some “cats” (corrupt officials in league with pirates) are eating most of his catch. Taking the hint, Magistrate Eom promises to track down those “cats.”

The next day, he strikes fear into the hearts of his underlings by saying that he was a former magisterial secretary. That means he can catch the slightest whiff of corruption, and he won’t be lenient with anyone who is found guilty.

Of course, this has trickle-down effects, and the next time Amogae and his crew go out for their bartering mission, the coast guards won’t even take a look at the bribe that they’ve prepared for them.

As profit grows, the black market black linen trade grows as well, and the gang goes out to celebrate at a nearby town. Happy about their success, they become a little rowdy, and on a pee break, Amogae overhears the locals disparage his bunch, calling them a group of low-life gangsters.

He mentions that to the rest, and they become incensed, but then real gangsters — the pirate bullies from before — show up, wanting to pledge allegiance. They promise that they’ll do whatever they’re told, whether it’s beating, crushing, and destroying things or people.

Amogae speaks up and says that they don’t need people to do that, but rather, they need some more brothers to share drinks with who would be willing to protect their own. Liking the sound of being brothers, the pirate spokesman agrees in laughter.

Following this encounter, Amogae holds a primitive yet meaningful ceremony to commemorate the beginning of their blood brotherhood, and he promises that no one will touch him or his own. As he dips a gourd into the blood-mixed rice wine, he proclaims: “If one gains, we all gain. If one fights, we all fight. And if one dies, we all die!”

Watching from over the fence, Gil-hyun looks entranced, while Gil-dong’s expression is more wary. He tells his older brother that he’s worried because his father changed for him and that he might die because of him, but Gil-hyun tells him not to worry.

His concerns don’t seem to have gone away, because when Gil-dong takes a nap later, he’s transported back into the tiger’s forest where he cries sorrowfully that it’s all his fault. The majestic tiger stays silent, but keeps Gil-dong company while he weeps.

Meanwhile, Amogae looks over his little dominion with Soboori at his side, almost awed that he’s still alive to appreciate his family and new friends. He tells Soboori of his ambitions to raise Gil-hyun as a scholar and Gil-dong as a general.

Someone should have told him that these things don’t work out like you plan, because soon, Gil-hyun starts showing interest in knives instead of books. When Amogae asks Gil-hyun about possibly taking the civil servant exam, Gil-hyun replies that he knows there isn’t a bright career for slave-born scholars, and that he’d rather learn to follow in his father’s footsteps. Mollified, Amogae changes his ideas for Gil-hyun’s future.

One day, Gil-dong walks through the street stalls when a pretty display of accessories catches his eye. The vendor tries to shoo him away, but after hearing from his friend that Gil-dong is the son of Amogae, whose influence is now significant, he brings him back and tells him to choose whatever he likes. Gil-dong has so much fun that he runs back to his father and announces that he wants to become a traveling merchant in the future.

Of course, this was not Amogae’s plan for Gil-dong, so the next day, when Gil-dong goes again to watch the street mart, Amogae sits down with him to talk. He tells his son that while peddling is a good career, Gil-dong can’t become a trader because he is special — he’s the Mighty Child.

Gil-dong asks his father if he’s referring the same Mighty Child that’s destined to kill his family and all his loved ones. It’s clear that Amogae’s warnings to Gil-dong when they were still slaves have become ingrained in him. Even though his father tells him he doesn’t have to hide his strength anymore, all the recent emotional trauma has taken its toll, and it’s caused Gil-dong to subconsciously suppress any memories that he has of having inhuman powers. Amogae is surprised at first, but then accepts his son as he is.

Twelve years later, wealthy Ikhwari elder Amogae looks over his village, waiting for his second son to come home. His daughter rushes to present him with a bouquet and goes to find her brother.

An older Gil-hyun (Shim Hee-seob) is in the forge, overseeing the creation of counterfeit silver taels, and cautions his sister not to come in so freely. She goes back out in search of her second brother and calls out to the ocean, telling him that if he doesn’t come back soon, their father will be really worried.

At a nobleman’s house somewhere, the wealthy daughter and her servant gossip about rumors of a magical merchant who can help ladies with all their troubles with romance and fertility. Seeing her lady’s keen interest in his abilities, the servant gives her the name, Hong Gil-dong.

The scene switches to a beautiful panorama view of an older Gil-dong (Yoon Kyun-sang), who sits in a wheat field calmly gazing out at the blue sky.

.We get a rewind of Constanza’s tearful answer to Chema’s simple question: So how was the wedding? Perhaps Fatal is the best word she says then spills tears about Matias' and Roberta's loveless wedding, Roberta’s pregnancy, with Jeronimo who betrayed Renata, Blanca’s pregnancy with Honorio who betrayed her and she has asked for a divorce. Chema, who wants to kiss away her tears, also wants a chance with her when she is free.

He is on the verge of telling her that her mother is the one who told him about her relationship with his brother and she slaps him silly before he can get it out and tells him to get out of her life. Renata gets to slap Jeronimo up side the head while satisfaction fills Caray Caray living rooms. He will love her forever more. She tells him he is sick. How could he do the damage he has done to her. Then she rants, yeah, go ahead and believe that I am the one who betrayed your bother and I am La Bonita. He tries to kiss her and tell her he doesn’t believe that she doesn’t love him.

Still acting stupid like there is sense in the world and Blanca is a sane person, Honorio shows up at Blanca’s condo to talk sense, huh? The doorman won’t let him in for love or money. Honorio says but her car is here, she must be here. He offers a propina, tip but doorman says no. Blanca in the shadows hissing, continue screaming for me, Hon, and believing that I am expecting our baby. (Her eggs aren’t just hard-boiled; they were pickled in pure acid.) But her curls are indeed tighter and every time she looks more like the Medusa, we might expect snakeheads to swim around her head soon.

Fina and Roberta fight over the no luna de miele and how to keep a husband you only want for money not love. Roberta says you have made me infertile form the miscarriage and all you care about is the 10-year clause slipped into the Pre-nup agreement. You don’t care how Matias or I feel you only care about being richer. And I will learn to sleep in my bed alone like YOU do every night.

Gonzo and Matias he isn’t going on honeymoon and is not going to move into Roberta’s bed. The guys seem to decide that they don’t have love and perhaps soon no money. Gonzo says they shouldn’t have trusted Linares and he is ready to leave Matias decision to home.

Regina and Carlos discuss that Renata doesn’t want to forgive her but she won’t be vanquished for love or money even if Jeronimo does gives up.

Lazaro tries to console Ezequiel with some food and love at the shelter. Ezek isn’t hungry, but takes the plate and the implied love from his friend. Arely and Lazaro discuss that he loves someone who is with another. Arely knows who is Alfonsina’s baby daddy, but Arely feels fidelity to Alfonsina. Lazaro is upset that if she knows who is the father of the baby that she has to help his friend who he has had for his whole life. She won’t betray Alfonsina but will keep her promise to not tell what she saw in the vineyard.

Kari has waking nightmares still tied in the bed next to the drunken Dr Nastynesme who murmurs Alfonsina’s name in his dirty dreams. Kari has all the flashbacks of Padre almost discovering her while she remembers him accusing Nasty of abusing Alfonsina, then she remembers Alfonsina almost confessing her nasty deed with her in spite of all, I love you speech. Kari lies tied in the bed and pathetically cries that her husband and now her best friend have betrayed her.

Matilde and Alfonsina discuss that they have not seen Kari. Alfonsina tells Matilde tells that Ezek has menaced all the workers at La Bonita. Alfonsina vows to fix her own problems. Matilde has advice for a change that isn’t schoolgirl stupid. Seems like little dunderhead is growing up by leaps and bounds (Just like her ardent supporter, Dr. Carlos predicted.)

Renata comes back in after her slapping session and telling Jero to get out of her life. She comes into her sheet draped room and goes right to 5x7 wedding pictures in her fashionable hand bag, as the sweet words, “Hay amor…” pulls our heartstrings in the background. She remembers with a smile the sweet event then tears the pictures into strips and falls to the floor crying, I hate you, I hate you. As the sad strains say it isn’t possible for us to live one without the other….. tears aren’t good for keyboards, thanks for the ad break, now where’s that mop…

What happened says clueless Jero, getting his turn at being disbelieved and mistrusted. He vows to fight to recover her love.

Honorio and Adriana eat together and Adriana says Renata is heartbroken and will seek a divorce and an annulment. Hon says Consta has asked for a divorce. Smarter than anyone else, Adri says to Honorio in her non-judgmental voice, would you do the same in your place, that is, forgive an infidelity? Hom tries to insist, but, its different in his case. Adri says, in a relationship, you can’t ask what you wouldn’t give. Hon considers this profundity from the wise little Adriana.

Consta and Gonz meet at Consta’s. (Notice Gonzo spends absolutely no time at home with Fina when he doesn’t have to) Consta is so heart broken that Honorio is a babydaddy, and says she feels so empty, He advises her not to go to someone for loneliness like he did with Fina. (We don’t really know how his first marriage went, but) he says, don’t fool yourself, I will support whatever you do. Loneliness isn’t a good counselor.

Fina demands information from Renata, what did Jero say to her out there was he trying to say to change her mind? Then, her next worry, what did Gonzo tell her, She tells Renata he has demanded she apologize for not making her feel like she could stay in her house. He demands that she can stay in the house for as long as she wants. Renata, while she can’t believe her mother went to Jero to tell lies, is burning inside with being made to be nice to her. Renata doesn’t really want to hear it so says in mocking tones, let’s tell him you were here and offered your apology and gave me welcome and support, so you did all the things you promised. Fina has to rub in a bit more hurt so again grinds in how the mess is all her fault and she told her so from the beginning. Renata screams that she is not going to take any more humiliation, any more insults or hurt from any one else. She demands her mother get out of her bedroom and Fina turns her heel literally on a piece of a photo of Renata and Jero and stomps out in her nasty blue fuzzy slippers.

Adriana is imagining and dreamy in her bed. She and Matias meet with the rest of the nasty family magically melted away. She tells Matias, you have never stopped surprising me. She loves him more than ever even though he has so gallantly married Roberta. She dreams in fuzzy vignetted pictures (hmm, she has Adobe Lightroom 3 installed in her brain) that she and Matias meet in a club and he tells what their destiny might be, and has she considered what she really means to him. She has really opened his heart and they have a future and his heart is hers. She says she will carry this forever but since he married Roberta they can’t be together now. But he want so to be with her and she says they will be together this night. True love, sweet kisses and guitar riffs help her enjoy the beginnings of Roberta’s supposed wedding night. The singer croons love me, call me, love me…

Carlos jumps out to surprise Matilde with a whole bouquet of paper flowers saying she owes him a kiss for each one of them. She teases that has too much do to kiss him that many times. They will have to wait until later. They are in fun flirt mode. We all need this desperately tonight.

Arely and Lazaro walk in the refuge center, she wants to know if she doesn’t like her. He says she is incredible and beautiful, but for years he has loved only one person and his heart isn’t available. It is Karina, the wife of Dr. Nesmenasty. She is surprised at his confession and assures him that some day Karina will love him as he deserves. She doubts she will find someone as wonderful as he is . He assures her she will find someone special to love her. She is a queen and deserves love and care from someone worthy of herself. Someone will give her beautiful things. She confesses she is leaving tomorrow and she will miss him. She finally says she will try to get Alfonsina to confess who is the babydaddy, then she tells him it is Dr. Nasty. Lorenzo’s face is formidable with meaning.

Later, Jero is dressed up and enters the Monterrubio mad mansion in time for Matias to punch him twice really fast while he yells that he is an imbecile, Matias throws things they wrestle. Enter Gonzo who pulls them apart saying fights aren’t their style. They struggle until the whole family comes down the stairs to see the struggle. They all scream for him to leave but he insists that he is not leaving until they listen to him. Gonzo orders him out no one in the family wants anything to do with him.

Back in Baja, Regina packs and says she must return to the city to see what she can do. Things are going so badly with Jeronimo and Renata. Carlos counsels Regina not to return to the danger in the city but she is committed to winning back Renata’s trust. Carlos thinks she is more a friend of Jero than of Renata but she says from the beginning she has had such special feelings about Renata that she wants to get back Renata’s trust then aid Renata’s return to Jero. I feel sad, ashamed and frustrated for all she been part of and is not going to stay here safe and locked in. She will take the risk because she is ready to redefine her life. Sometimes life throws you some strange times to show you what your own pathway should be.

Jero tries to tell Renata that her MOHER told her that Renata was the lover of Rafa. Gonzo looks interested but Fina in her finest hour screams that it is all lies and turns the lies and blame right back on him. She does indignation like a pro. Then Roberta who could come clean at this moment channels pure Fina and condemns Jero for betraying them all. If what he says is true that he was trying to prove his brother’s killer why did he marry Renata? Fina call his lies most cruel she is indignant that he has trashed her precious daughters. Gonzo says now you have attacked Fina and Roberta who is next Matias or me. Jero says his great error was to believe this woman, Fina. She whines and clings to Gonzo and Roberta. Renata is turning her head and perhaps her mind back and forth as the volley of accusations and lying answers go around the room. Renata is asked, who do you believe Renata, us or the man who has made your life an inferno Fina protests her actions of being against their marriage were her well intentioned attempt to protect her. Jero calmly says again I swear your mother swore to me that you were the lover of Rafa and you were la Bonita. Fina does great pouty face with Roberta and Renata chooses to believe her lying ass mother rather than Jero. She doesn’t believe him and his lies and she never will again. (Just deserts I guess, but I did like that the ad for Triunfo that showed in next moment a character in wedding garb clutching a large evil looking knife storming the wedding aisle screaming, you are going to die! and I am sure for just a moment I was channeling that crazy woman. I know that Jero has to suffer to earn his punishment but do we all too.)

Oh my, Dona Cata, who acts like she is the one who wants Antonio for herself is counseling Antonio that they both think Regina is safer out at Baja. But when her daughter makes up her mind, nothing and no one can change it. So they must know she is headed back into the inferno. He confesses that her interest in Gonzo disconcerts him a lot. Cata knows that Gonzo isn’t a free man and his intentions toward her daughter can’t be acted on, but she is worried. Antonio asks Cata to help him marry Regina the minute she comes back to the city.

Jero and Gonzo sit down, Gonzo says he wants to clarify something. The fearsome fivesome sit down, almost civilized then in a very quiet voice, Gonzo asks him how could he dare how could he dare trick Renata. Renata and Roberta chime in that he is a rat bastard (well, loose translation but accurate). He asks fina once more to tell the truth and she says the only truth is that no one in the family wants to have any more to do with him. Gonzo says he has betrayed the love of his daughter Renata and lost all confidence in him and he wants him to leave never to return to hurt or to betray his family. Jero quietly goes out the door. Fina clutches Gonzo in triumph but has enough venom to say to Renata you cry for this bastard but I told you from the beginning that this was a rat bastard and you wouldn’t listen. Roberta and Fina look mighty satisfied. Matias looks like he wants to jump into Renata’s arms. Gonzo looks like he wants to be anywhere else but being slimed by Fina.

Blanca pays off the doorman/neighbor and it looks like a whole lot more pesos than Honorio was offering. I think she said next time tell him I have moved and there will be more of this.

Jero comes to Const’s house. She wants to get ice for his face that he says came from a fight with Matias. Do you me resolve everything with fists. He thanks her for being the only family member that doesn’t hate him. She says she has her reasons. But she wants to know why he betrayed the love of Renata. He begs her to understand that Fina misled him and does she know who she really is. Consta finally admits that she believes him and tells him to sit down and tell him everything that Fina told him.

The loving family discuss the interesting day. Roberta maintains that Jero must have wanted to take control of the baby, his baby that she is carrying, she is smiling at being able to wound Renata further (we are going to remember this when your rehabilitation review comes up at Caray Caray Central, sister) but she wants the baby to only know Matias a papa. Matias says they will none of them have anything to do with Jeronimo ever again.

The condemned Jero shows up next at Adriana’s who tells him that he has lost the love of Renata forever. Then Adriana is the one to reveal to him that they are all in a snit because the story is that the baby Roberta is expecting is not Matias’ but is HIS. I am picking up my bucket over flowing with tears and yet know there are rivers more for tomorrow.

Next capitulos: Jero is on a mission and with better information moves forward to demand that he be heard and even that they will go to DNA tests. I am guessing that the miscarriage will be re-enacted soon so they can gang up on Renata again and she can remain full of doubt and pain.

Rod remembers making out with Ligia and being caught doing so by Daniela.
Rod has an uneasy conversation with his father about jobs. Amadiva tells Rod he does things for him. Amadiva is feeling guilt? Unease about getting caught? He's in his feels about Ligia's death in some way.
The investigation into Ligia's murder is going a little too slow, but Mario helps it along by telling the police that Amadiva was having an affair with Ligia.
This episode:
Norma and Lalo worry because they haven't heard word on how Marcelo is doing. Poor Rafiella comes to the office because Marcelo never came home. They realize no one has told her about his stabbing. She's very upset and asks if he is going to live.
Ricardo visits Amadiva at home. Amadiva is glad he stopped by as they need to discuss the negotiations with Alonso. Ricardo tells him to take a look at the folder on the table, but Amadiva says that Mario is going to need to review it since he's Al's lawyer. Ricardo gets a little chuckle out of that coincidence. Since he's in a good-humored mood, Amadiva decides to ask a little favor: Could Ricardo provide an alibi for Amadiva for the other night, y'know, in case anyone asks? Ricardo wisely asks who is going to ask him for Amadiva's alibi, but Amadiva plays it off as he had a little fling he doesn't want Brigida to know about. Ricardo is again amused, and wants the gossip on what went down, but Amadiva keeps the details out of it. Ricardo says he is happy to do this (provide an alibi) for his friend.
At the hospital, Milagros, Naz, Al and Lucia worry themselves in the waiting room. Then the doctor brings the good news: Marcelo's operation went well! He is out of danger. Of course, he will need to be watched, but there's no reason to be pessimistic that he won't recover. Yay! Lucia asks if he can have visitors, but the doctor says not yet as he is still under anesthesia. However, he won't be in intensive care. We get a PSA for donating blood. Also, the police will be stopping by as this was not an accidental injury. Naz has clearly never watched a telenovela and hopes the police will catch the culprit.
At the Gaxiola mansion of stressed out ladies, Nora and Rebeca stress out over Marcelo's stabbing. Nora accuses Rebeca of wanting Marcelo dead. Rebeca denies it (but you know it's so true). Then Nora wants to go to the hospital, but Rebeca tells her that's a dumb idea and she'll be humiliated and kicked out since Lucia and Daniela will likely be there. Nora says OK then. Rebeca leaves the room and you can see the sign in Nora's eyes - Nora is figuring out how to finesse a hospital visit.
Waiting room chitchat: Momster wants to see that Marcelo is OK with her own eyes. Naz wants to call Norma and Lalo to update them. Al would lend Naz a phone, but he left it at the Gaxiola mansion of stressed out ladies. (It is worth noting that Al is positively gleeful in this episode so far - probably because he's not at home!) Al and Naz are off to find a phone, but Lucia decides to stay so Momster won't have to be alone. After they leave, Momster throws a little shade at Lucia for acting like she cares about Marcelo after she dumped him, but Lucia plays it cool and doesn't take the bait. She leaves the waiting room and Momster rolls her eyes to the back of her head.
Rafiella has arrived at the hospital and a nurse fills her in. She spots Naz getting off the phone with Lalo and asks him why no one filled her in!? (This is a very good question.) He reassures her that Marcelo is out of danger and explains that no one picked up the phone when Lucia called. She wants to go to Momster, but Naz realizes she needs to calm down first & offers to buy her a cup of tea.
Tere and Leti chat about recent events. Leti is off to go home for a change of clothes, but Rebeca stops her in order to snark that Sara couldn't have Alonso since Rebeca got him first, and she probably hasn't had any men since. Thankfully, Alonso arrives at the Gaxiola mansion of stressed out ladies to find Rebeca and Leti arguing and tells Rebeca to shut up. He tells Leti to wait for him outside and he'll give her a ride.
After she leaves, Alonso rips into Rebeca for picking on Leti. Rebeca asks why he is so welcoming to the daughter of the woman who wants him. And also, how's your employee? Alonso tells her Marcelo is fine and asks her what she has to say? "Absolutamente nada." Seeing the signs that Rebeca is as awful as ever, Al gives her a disgusted look and walks away.
Lucia bumps into Magda in the hospital and catches her up on Marcelo. Magda hates that horrible things are happening lately, and mentions Ligia's murder. Lucia is shocked and starts to mention Leti's speculation about Ligia's affairs (but holds off). She does mention that Leti found out about her real dad; Magda interrupts to say she already knows that it's Ricardo. They know Leti is feeling bad, but hope she'll adjust to the news.
The Verizon laundromat ad set to the Thrift Shop song is pretty much the worst ad ever.
Outside the mansion, Alonso talks to Leti. He apologizes for Rebeca's behavior and encourages her to forgive Sara for not telling her sooner about Ricardo being Leti's dad, as Sara did her best and Leti is a grown woman now and can handle this news. He offers to take Leti to speak to Sara.
Momster gets to roll her eyes again, as Rafi has joined her in the waiting room, followed by Lucia. Marcelo will be moved into his own room soon and the jockeying for who will get to visit him first begins. Momster feels it is her right and races off to the room. (I actually kind of agree with Momster.) Rafi is fine with that, they'll all get a turn, but Lucia wails that Daniela will show up soon and she'll get put back further in line. Rafi tells Lucia that Daniela has returned to Mexico City because she realized Marcelo is committed to Lucia. Lucia's face lights up.
Brigida greets Amadiva, and she is visibly stressed. The signs are clearly there that something is not right. The police are waiting for him. They want to ask him questions about miss "Cervantes." Not knowing Ligia's last name, Brigida asks who this woman is, but Amadiva asks her to leave the room.
Marcelo is in his new room, still zonked out from the anesthesia. Momster and the nurse get him settled. Momster asks for a sign to be placed on the door prohibiting visitors. And also please get him some water.
After Brigida has reluctantly left, the police quiz Amadiva, who denies knowing Ligia. The police bring up the accusation that Amadiva had an affair with her, which he denies. Then they ask him for his alibi for the night of the murder, to which he provides the phony one he arranged with Ricardo, saying that he was in a bar with his friend during that time. The police want Ricardo's contact information. We see Brigida overhearing all of this and very upset. But I'm most interested in the chairs that the police are sitting in during this scene:

Leti arrives home and has a heart-to-heart conversation with Sara, where she apologizes for being so upset and tells her mother that she respects her decisions. She also asks Sara to respect her decisions. Our girl Leti is growing up! Mom and daughter hug it out. Leti asks Sara to check on Marcelo when she gets to work.
Ah here we go! A hand brushes over Marcelo's face. He murmurs, "Lucia"... No such luck as we see a lady bend down to give him a kiss:

Creepy Nora is kissing sleeping Marcelo and gets promptly caught by Momster, who doesn't know her and asks who she is. Nora doesn't know Momster, so she introduces herself as Nora Gaxiola, the novia of Marcelo. Hearing that Nora is a Gaxiola is the only sign that Momster needed to see, and she is like, you're outta here!

Momster hustles Nora out of the room, saying she's had enough of her sister, and is not going to tolerate Nora. Yay, more fuel for Nora's sister issues. Momster shoves Nora towards Lucia and Rafi, and tells Lucia to ask her sister what happened.
Momster returns to Marcelo and Lucia indeed grabs her sister and asks what happened. Nora doesn't want to talk and breaks free to rush out. Lucia goes after her. Rafi decides to have her visit with Marcelo, but then she sees the sign: Momster's requested "Visitors Prohibited" sign has been posted.
Back in the hospital room, a confused, anesthetized Marcelo asks who his mom was arguing with. Momster tells him no one, she's alone, but Marcelo thought he heard voices. Momster pretends she was telling the nurse about needing the water, but Marcelo thought he heard Lucia. Momster lies that Lucia has not come to the hospital.
Rushing out of the hospital, Lucia catches Nora outside. An argument and a slapfest ensues! Lucia wants to know what Nora was doing? Nora says, duh, kissing Marcelo in his room! Slap!

One good slap deserves another!

Nora states that she is going to go after Marcelo and Lucia can't stop her. Lucia tells her that her own stupidity will stop her. Nora tells her it's not stupid to go after someone you love and by the way, Lucia, you dumped him! Lucia tells her to listen to Momster and forever leave Marcelo alone. Nora says Lucia should do the same. I see the signs that this sisterly relationship is never going to be a good one.
After the police have left, Brigida tells Amadiva that she remembers Ligia from the day she brought papers to their house. She asks Amadiva why he lied. He lies. She tells him to quit lying and accuses him of having a long-term relationship with Ligia. Amadiva tries to turn it on her and says that next she'll accuse him of killing her. Brigida only says she doesn't know what to think. Amadiva continues to deny the accusations. Brigida says he's not the man she married. We hear Rod knock on their bedroom door. Amadiva asks Brigida not to tell Rod any of it, but he comes in anyway and asks what he's not supposed to know. The parents try to spin that they were discussing Amadiva's idea for Rod and work, but Rod reiterates that he wants to do his own thing business-wise. What's more, he got a job with an insurance company and he starts Monday! That kind of shuts the parents up.
Naz talks to Alonso and tells him that he seems tense, which of course is bad for his heart. (I hate when the signs point to Alonso's heart issues. My husband even speculated during this episode again about how all these crazy women are going to put Alonso in his grave with their antics.) Alonso confides in Naz about how his relationship with Rebeca is the pits. He doesn't want to be with her anymore. Naz asks who he does want to be with. Al says no one (yes, go with that instinct, Al) but Naz thinks Alonso likes Sara. Alonso confirms he does, but that is not why he has problems with Rebeca. Naz comments that it's easier to make hard decisions when one is motivated.
Sara and her secretary are discussing work when Rebeca comes in for an unscheduled appointment. Actually, Rebeca comes in ready for battle and asks Sara if she wants to do it there in front of the secretary or in a private office? A private office it is, and they go in. Rebeca tells Sara that Rebeca is Mrs. Gaxiola and she won't tolerate Al being with Sara. Sara tells Rebeca that she hasn't tried to be with Al, but if Al is looking to be with Sara or any other lady, it's because he's done with Rebeca, and maybe Rebeca see the sign and open up her mind and accept that. Rebeca ominously says that she'll be Mrs. Gaxiola until death, and Sara needs to accept that or face the consequences. (I'm worried the consequences will be directed on Al!)
Lucia and Rafi discuss Nora's history with Lucia, and how Rebeca basically trained Nora to compete with Lucia. Rafi observes that Rebeca seems to have done lots of bad things.
Marcelo is shuffling around in bed trying to get comfortable and Momster fusses at him. He still can't believe Lucia didn't come to check on him. Momster slips and says she had seen her early in the AM. Marcelo checks her, saying that earlier Momster had said she hadn't been there. Momster is saved by the police, who have arrived to ask questions. Momster tries to shoo them away, but Marcelo wants to talk to them. He tells them what happened, but he didn't see his attacker...
Vinicio, who is in a bar with Amadiva bragging about the clean job he did on Marcelo. He even covered his tracks by "discovering" him and bringing him to the hospital. Amadiva says he better have covered his tracks.
Naz and Lalo are at work and Lalo is looking for something. The something is actually an excuse to visit Tere at the Gaxiola mansion of stressed-out ladies. Naz tells Lalo to just go visit her without a pretext.
Tere asks Rebeca about Rebeca. Rebeca stressfully tells her she knows nothing. Tere scoots out of the bedroom. Rebeca mutters something about how Marcelo should have died.
Momster wants the police to get the bad guys already. Marcelo tells her to calm down. Sara comes in the room to check on him. Is he feeling well enough to receive visitors? Because then they can take the sign down! Marcelo is feeling well enough and Sara lets in the visitors' line while Momster's eyes revisit the back of her head.
Rafi rushes in, while Lucia comes in, but hangs in the back. Rafi is so excited to see that Marcelo is OK. Aw! Marcelo notices Lucia and asks the other ladies let him be alone with her. They do, although Momster gets in another eye-roll.
Rafi throws a little shade at Momster about being thrown out of the room and gives her a cute face. Then she sees the sign and takes it down!

In Marcelo's room, Lucia approaches Marcelo gingerly. Marcelo says he is surprised to see her. Lucia says that she was afraid for him and afraid that things will be complicated. Marcelo sees the sign and says she still cares. Lucia says it means she accepts. He smiles and asks what she accepts. Lucia says, marrying you. What she wants most in the world is to marry him and be his wife. They kiss.... Aw! The engagement is on!
