Antonio goes to see Fina and goes to the point… he knows Fina and Pepa are one and the same.
Tells her that Cantu and the municipal prez of that other town both were killed, and the one who would benefit most from both deaths is her. He can intervene so authorities cannot get to her… there can’t be any negotiating with the law, but you can negotiate with me. Antonio says if I had discovered this a few days ago, you would go to jail and Gina would have recovered her daughter.
Fina: what changed then?
Antonio: Gina and Gonzo’s betrayal. Who would have said? 25 yrs ago you were the lover of Gina’s husband, and now Gina is your husband’s lover…
But I am not your enemy now. Now I want to be your ally. Want revenge over Gina and Gonzo.
Fina: I am very distrusting by nature, how would I know you are telling me the truth?
Tony: What would I gain by lying to you knowing you are a master at lying, cruelty, manipulation, killing, anything to get what you want, you are the best. Lets join forces Fina.
Fina: Alright, you win. You have me in your hands. I prefer to take your offer than to leave Gonzo and Gina the way free.
Antonio: For now lets make them believe they are free… and when the right time comes, we will make our move.
Handshake among villains… but villains who would not trust each other further than they can throw each other … weird.

Renata goes to see Regina… Regina glad she’s there… Nata says here because dad asked me to come.
Gina thankful she came.. will let her make her own conclusions of what happened.
Gina: Jero hid his plans from me. If I had known I would have told you, and not just you, anyone I knew were being deceived.
Nata: Did you know that he was marrying me for revenge and not for love AFTER he spoke with my mom?
Gina: I would not be sure. He never mentioned your mother until now. (reminds Nata when one time she told Nata she was glad that Jero and her cleared things up… she had assumed Jero had been honest with her)
Nata also remembers talking to Jero about that conversation with Gina… Jero saying he would not know what they had to forgive each other for, him saying it was about having been girlfriend of Matias. So Nata concludes Gina is truthful that she did not know. Gina is glad, but Nata says she believes that but she is NOT reconciling with Gina. I believe you but it is hard to make friends. You have a relationship with my dad, and I can respect that, but my mom takes it as a betrayal. It is hard for me to take sides so I would like to stay out of it.
Gina: Nata, Gonzo and I have a relationship, just like you had with Jero. And as Matias was hurt with your relationship, here the one that is hurting is your mother. I am so sorry but she has not played cleanly with us either. Your mom faked a fatal ilness to keep Gonzo with her.
Nata: Right. But I won’t judge you and back you up.
Gina: Don’t condemn me either.
Nata: I am not. I am just trying to stay out of it. And yes, maybe the fact that she is my mother makes me defend her, after all.

Berta and Augie:
Augie wants to know about her pregnancy, why put it on Jero if the baby was Rafa’s? Berta wants to know who told him. IF he wants her to tell, he has to tell her. Of course, it was stupid Sele who told you.
Berta wants Augie to help her make Sele pay for that ‘slip’. Only then will she tell all to Augie. Augie agrees. Quien me la hace me la paga (whoever does to me pays for it)… Augie says ditto, when it is my turn. They toast to the deal.

Ponchito arrives to elated Alfo and Ezeq… They are very thankful to Marina… Jero is admiring Marina with his stare. Carlos does too, so Mati looks at him like she wants to kill him.
Later Jero and Marian are drinking wine at a very beautiful outdoor loft… Marina says Ponchito’s reaction was very common. Jero is admiring how she talked to Ponchito and tries to convince Marina to talk to Alfonsina about the same subject. He offers to convince Alfo to do her pregnancy checkup with Marina and then Marina can talk to her about the other stuff. Marina finds it very nice for him to worry as much about the people who work for him.

Ponchito is trying to convince Ezeq and Alfo that he will not try to run away again if they stay together at the house. After they try to get him to commit not to escape, he is the winner in the dare game. Seemingly Ezeq will let Alfo stay in the house so that Ponchito won’t run away again. (the birds shooting at the shotguns?)

Mati is mad at Carlos, he accuses her of seeing ‘moros con tranchete’ (seeing trouble even where there isn’t any) then accuses her of being jealous… she starts threatening him with punching him if he even looks at another woman… (girl, you better take some valium if you want to have a man with you)…

Lazaro insists in Kari telling him why she insists on staying with Alvaro… Her love has been Lazaro’s always and living with him would be doing it in sin… He insists and Karina finally tells him she had promised her father and that is why she married him. She has to keep her promise to be married to Alvaro until death does them apart. … He asks her why she did not tell him before… so he could live his life… even though she and Alvaro are separated, she will never be able to be with another man as long as Alvaro lives. She walks away leaving a devastated Lazaro.

Chema is visiting Adri.. Connie is there too… they are talking about movies… Chema thanks Adri for accepting him even if she is Hono’s daughter. Chema and Adri are becoming good friends… when Chema and Connie walk out of the room, Adri says that she is trying to get Chema attracted to her so that her dad and Connie can get back together. Outside Connie is surprised that Adri and Chema got along so well. Chema insists that he is getting close to Adri so that Connie will be happy. In comes Hono for a very awkward moment… he is visibly turned off by Connie and Chema being there together…

Hono will stay the night with Adri at hospital. Adri talks to him about being rough with Chema… Hono can’t stand that Chema came to visit her and is trying to be her friend… His tantrum release gets interrupted by Gonzo and Gina bringing Adri chocolates… Gina tells her she and Nata at least smoothed their frictions. They talk about parents pretending the kids to take their sides… Gina understands Nata. Gonzo says in time Nata will take his and Gina’s side… and life will go back to normal.

Nata arrives at Misery Manor to try to talk to her mom. The maid goes to ask Fina and Fina sends message to Nata that she is tired and won’t see her. Nata says ah yeah?? Lets see if she won’t talk to me. And she runs up the stairs…
N: You will listen to me if you want or not, mom…
F: What part of I DON’T WANT TO SEE YOU did you not get?
N: None! I don’t get any of it! And I won’t leave until you have heard me out and answered me! I have no doubts anymore about you talking to Jero and telling him that I was La Bonita!! Why do you always want to screw with my life?? WHY!??
F: I did it for your own good, but Jero is as stubborn as you! And it turned out the remedy was worse than the illness!
N: Are you trying to tell me that you told Jero that I was La Bonita for my own good? You won’t expect me to believe that!
F: There is no doubt that the children hardly know why parents believe the way they do… when you become a mother, you will understand.
N: No, even if I become a mom, I will NEVER understand! For telling THAT to Jero, I have lived the worse moments of my life!
F: Did I lie to Jero?? YES!!! I DID!! But I did it with all the intention!! (con alevosia y ventaja!) You wanted the truth? Well there it is!! But the motive was not to destroy you as you think, but to get you away from Jero! Because I knew that that man would never make you happy!
N: I am sure we would have been (happy) if it were not for your lies!
F: If I told Jero you had been his brother’s girl, it was because I thought that knowing it would have pulled him away from you. But he did the opposite! He was thirsty for vengeance, and that was the motor for your doom.
N: But why did you not tell me??
F: Would you have believed me?? For god’s sake! You were blind, as Berta says! And yes! I did not know that between your sister and Jero there had been intimacy, but at least there was a possibility, right?
N: Know what, I don’t believe you, mother.
F: Well, then analyze it. Yes, look at it from a mother’s viewpoint. (Nata is in disbelieve nodding no) Jero invaded my house and hurt both my daughers! My princesses, my treasures! Knowing that one of the two had a relationship with his brother. For God’s sake, how could I trust him?? … but if you would not listen to me, at least I had to try with him. (she is giving Nata her back so she is making villain faces in hiding from her) We mothers have a special smell sense. (really? I had not noticed) You might think that I behave like this only with you, but the same happened with Berta. I opposed to her relationship with Rafa, and I was not wrong with that either.
N: Rafa was a good man, mother.
F: A young man’s death is very benevolous. But … hey, if Rafa was so good, why did he get assassinated? Surely he had some enemies… not because he were a saint.
N: Even then, you had no right to get me away from Jero. You should have told me. And if I did not believe you then it would have been my mistake, not yours.
F: How sad that you come tell me all that. How sad that you don’t see that all I do is for love. That unconditional and sacrificial love that only a mother feels for her daughterts. (where is that thunder falling on her?? But she can surely play the martyr mother… BARF!!!)
N: Please understand me, mother. In your obsession to control everything, you end up lying as with my dad.
Tell me, what did deceiving us with a fatal tumor do for you? Sooner or later he was going to discover that!
F: I did not lie only for lying.. but for defending what is mine! I was not going to leave the way free for your dad to leave me with that ho___... Because that’s what he wants! To leave me for that ho__!! To be with Regina Soberon!
N: Look, mom! There are things that you cannot avoid! So be it! But things that you do have no justification!
F: You are going to defend your dad and that ho__! You don’t care about the pain they have caused me?? (again turning her back to Nata to fake crying and suffering). Ultimately I did not deserve that betrayal!
N: Its not about taking sides, mom! You have to accept that there are loves that hurt, as you feel for my dad. But trying to hold on to them via lies and deception.. forgive me but I think that is a really bad idea, mom.
F: I am devastated… I have done everything to keep this family together! Even asking you to leave to not let your relationship with Matias break it… but it was useless.
N: Don’t cry anymore, ok mom? Better put to practice what you have always preached. Take responsibility for your own actions.
F: Please don’t be so harsh with me, dear.
N: Mom, I am a lot less harsh than you have been with me.
F: Please dear… please forgive me… forgive me for all the times I have been harsh with you. Please understand it is nothing personal with you (Say what??) I do it with / for the people I love, my big loves.
N: Your way of loving is very strange, mom… (you tell her Nata!!)
F: Could be… but my intentions are good… I do it with Roberta, with Gonzalo… with you… with my big loves.
N: Sometimes intention is not enough, mom.
F: Dear, I swear I have always looked for the bigger good… Not the immediate one, not the unstable one, but the one which will help you find happiness in the long run… (covers her face) I swear it dear… I swear it…
(Nata gives her a tranquilizer pill… Fina begs her understanding… even if they don’t agree, to accept she does everything for love…
N: I don’t know mom. You say it is for love, but I have always felt your rejection.
F: It is protection, dear… I told you… But anyway.. I will have to accept we have different views of life and of expressing love.
N: Yes, we will have to accept that.
F: I feel like the world is falling on me. You in a divorce with Jero, Matias asking Roberta the same, and on top of that, Gonzo is betraying me with that woman.
N: You are not the only one who feels like her world is falling apart. … Can I ask you something please?
F: Whatever you want.
N: Can you look at me? (Fina turns to her) Don’t lie to me… Not for protection or for a better good or anything else. Please, don’t lie to me. I prefer the truth even if it is painful.
F: Alright, dear.
N: Good night, mom.
F: Wait… can I give you a kiss? .. Good or bad, I will always be your mother… the only mother you have in this world… (Nata is shocked frozen… Fina kisses her on cheek… Nata is looking down sad and leaves, Fina cleans up her face in disgust…) Stupid… I realize you don’t believe anything I say.. But it doesn’t matter. With what you just asked me, you have given me the motive for what I need to do in the future. (throws herself on the bed laughing)

At La Bonita, Marina is done giving everyone in the shelter a tetanus shot and it is late, she wants him to get her a taxi to go back to town… he will give her a ride… she is happy to hang on his arm…

Jero and Marina are having a good time together… she asks him to bring her some books from her medical room. He is glad to.

Marina arrives at her uncle’s, he was worried about her… She says Jero brought her home. Priest is a bit taken aback by that… but he doesn’t think about it too much. She says she likes Jero and he is a gentleman.

She wishes all this that is happening was a nightmare they can wake from. Hono says lets make believe it is a story with a happy ending… he fakes like he is reading her a story… with the witch (Blanca) but finally the good was victorious and they lived happily ever after…

Connie is having coffee with Matt at her house… HE says Hono is faking not being being worried, but he knows he can end up in jail… Nata arrives. Matt notices she is sad… She tells them she came from talking to Fina.. She cannot trust Fina’s words or even her caresses… Connie says I can’t believe her either. Nata says ‘but she is my mother! Do you get it? She is my mother and I don’t trust her!.’ Nata leaves, Matias and Connie agree that they detest Fina more each day…

At La Bonita Jero is walking outside, thinking how much he loves Nata and misses her. Nata is on her laptop on split screen. Jero thinks he was wrong and lost her. Nata receives the divorce demand on email for her review… Nata thinks… divorcing is the only way to get out this broken heart (mal de amores)…
Hono arrives at the office, Soto and Gonzo tell him that a client is suing for fraud.. Ms Monique de la Rivera. The name does not sound familiar to Hono at all… Turns out it is a scheme from Blanca and her lawyer, apparently. She wants ‘justice’ done as soon as possible. She tells lawyer Hono wanted to use her.. but he will get his due…

Augie and Nata are together…apparently ready to see the lawyer… Nata wrote a letter where she lists her motives to request the marriage annulment by church… she is not sure she is ready, but she has to do it. She thanks him for being her witness in this matter.

Jero is at the bank with the manager, he is aware that MonteRubio has been denied a huge loan.. the manager tells him not only them, but any bank… They have nothing to back up the debt… Jero is willing to put the money through them, but the MRs cannot know that the money comes from him. Daniela tries to say goodbye to Ricardo but he isn’t having it and plants one right on her mouth. She’s initially surprised but he continues and so does she, for a few seconds. Daniela then receives a call from Milagros and runs off, but not before Ricardo makes her promise that they will see each other again.

Leti lets Alonso inside to see Sara, with the biggest sourpuss face one. Once she’s left them alone, Alonso asks if something is wrong with Leti and Sara explains that she isn’t happy her mom is with a married man. Alonso tells her that he’s already asked Rebeca for a divorce but Sara tells him it doesn’t matter, Rebeca will never give up. Alonso reiterates that he and Rebeca have slept in separate bedrooms for months and as soon as Lucia’s wedding happens, he will focus all his energy on the divorce. Sara is still not happy, she’s well aware Rebeca will never give up, and neither will Nora, and they won’t have a minute of peace. Alonso asks if she is willing to make a life with him and Sara responds that she does. Alonso tells her that she has nothing to worry about then.

Rodrigo gets home and explains to Sergio that he went to go visit Lucia because he had to see her one last time. Sergio asks if he still loves her and Rodrigo confesses that he does and probably always will but is mad at himself for letting her go and falling in Nora’s trap. Sergio doesn’t chide him for it as Nora is very attractive but then confesses another girl has his thoughts now. He then tells Rodrigo how he’s going to try things out with Gloria and he should move on and try to rebuild his life.

Daniela tries to sneak pass Milagros but she’s waiting for her. When Milagros asks where she’s been, Daniela explains that the Commander delayed her because it was revealed her cousin was with a married man and it has complicated the investigation. Milagros is shocked to hear about this and wonders why Daniela lived with a woman like that. Daniela clarifies that she only lived with her for a short while and she was a very distant cousin. Milagros then apologizes to Daniela for her behavior this morning and tells her that she didn’t mean to make her a punching bag for Marcelo’s misdeeds. Daniela accepts her apology and goes into her room.

Alonso gets home and Nora asks if he went to go see Sara. He confesses that he did. Nora then asks why he stopped loving her mom. Alonso tells her that he adores and appreciates Rebeca but he never loved her. Nora asks if he’s leaving Rebeca because she cheated on him then. Alonso makes it clear that she never has given him any reason to believe that and wishes her a good night.

Rafaela is crying uncontrollably when Marcelo gets home. He asks her what’s wrong and she confesses that it’s midnight and she was worried about him. All he had to do was call and let her know he was fine because he almost died a few days ago and she didn’t even know at the time. Marcelo is sorry and, with tears in his eyes, confesses that he loves her more than she loves him because she’s always been there, no matter what, even more than his own mother. Rafaela tells him not to tell Milagros because then she’ll get jealous and Marcelo laments the fact that he never gets along with her. Rafaela tells him that despite everything she’s proud of him, even if she doesn’t show it. They hug.

The next morning, Nora goes to talk to Rebeca in the garden. She gives her a kiss and Rebeca asks why she’s so happy. Nora confesses that she talked to Alonso and he confessed Rebeca has never cheated. Rebeca is happy that she believes her. Nora then asks why she retains her father if he doesn’t love her. Rebeca tells her that she loves him and he’s her husband and Nora mentions that it’s just like she loves Marcelo. Rebeca tells her that it’s different but Nora wonders why she hates Marcelo so much. Rebeca tells her that she doesn’t like him and she would rather Nora have married Rodrigo than have anything to do with Marcelo. Nora tells her that she saw Marcelo first and Lucia took him away. Either way, she never liked Rodrigo so that wasn’t going to happen either. Rebeca tells her that despite her not liking him she still bedded him and almost had his child. Nora knocks over a coffee cup, pissed, and runs off.

Lucia is almost out the door without breakfast but Tere chases her down with a glass of orange juice. Tere then asks why Magdalena hasn’t come to visit more often and Lucia tells her that she doesn’t get along with Rebeca. Tere mentions that just like Nora and Lucia and Lucia agrees, lamenting her own fractured sisterly relationship. Nora then hears as Tere asks about Rodrigo visits and if Marcelo will get jealous. Lucia tells her that he has not reason to and then runs out but not before running into Nora, who smiles as she passes.

Rafaela is cleaning the kitchen when Milagros walks in surprised she’s there so early. While Rafaela serves her a coffee, Milagros inquires about Marcelo. Rafaela tells her that he’s back at work and he’s really happy with what he’s doing and his girlfriend. Milagros asks that she not mention Lucia. Rafaela tells Milagros that it’s really important for Marcelo for her to be there for him and she has a theory about why she treats Marcelo so bad: he’s just like his father. Milagros tells her that that’s a lie and she tried to repair their relationship. Rafaela tells her that either way it’s the only son she has and she should be close to him. Milagros nods but asks Rafaela to make another coffee because the current one is bad.

Lucia goes to visit Magdalena and asks why she was so flustered yesterday. Magdalena tells her that she ran into Milagros at the church and was taken aback by Milagros telling her that Lucia was covering up for the person who caused Marcelo’s brother’s suicide. Lucia tries to deny it but Magdalena pries hard enough and Lucia ask her to sit down so she can explain what happened: Marcelo’s brother committed suicide because he was probably instable and a woman seduced him and left him and it was too much for him to handle. Magdalena asks who the woman was and Lucia confesses that it was Rebeca.

Mario gets to his office and asks his new secretary if anything happened when he left yesterday. She tells him about Magdalena’s visit and her indiscretion about Rebeca’s visit. Mario chides her for being so open about his business and demands she not be as rude as she’s been till now, to Magdalena or any other person who walks into the office. She agrees and leaves.

Magdalena asks why Lucia hasn’t said anything about what she knows. Lucia tells her that Nora would take it bad, her father might get worse and it would ruin Magdalena’s and Mario’s wedding. Magdalena tells her that her wedding, Nora and Alonso would be fine. In fact, it might take some of Alonso’s guilt about the divorce away. She asks if anyone else knows about this and Lucia tells her that only Nazario knows. Magdalena then comments how every day she confirms that her sister is a monster and confides in Lucia that Ricardo left her at the altar because of Rebeca.

Rebeca receives a call from Ricardo who tells her that it’s been two days and he still hasn’t received a deposit in his bank account. He then warns her not to negotiate the payment anymore but Rebeca tells him they need to speak first, in person and hangs up.

In Talavera Gaxiola, Lucia confesses to Marcelo that she told Magdalena everything. Marcelo tells her he doesn’t care who knows but Lucia insists they wait. Marcelo then gives her a kiss and Milagros walks in and catch them. They awkwardly stop and Milagros tells him that she wanted to let him know about Federico’s mass, see how he was and ask if he would take her to lunch so they could catch up. Marcelo tells her that he promised Lucia and Milagros chooses to leave since she refuses to be the 3rd wheel. Lucia asks Marcelo to chase her down but Marcelo tells her that it’s useless.

Rebeca goes to meet Ricardo at a restaurant. He brings her a single rose that she doesn’t accept and asks if she brought the money. Rebeca tells him that she’s not paying him anything and Ricardo warns her that he confess everything he knows about her. Rebeca tells him that if he does, she will call the police and tell where to find him so they can arrest him for the fraud he committed years ago. Ricardo calls her bluff and grabs her hand, daring her to say something. Rebeca isn’t fazed and pries herself loose as Lucia and Marcelo arrive and catch them. Lucia tells Rebeca that her dad will be happy to know she rekindled her relationship with Ricardo. Ricardo tries to hug Rebeca but she moves away and Lucia asks Marcelo to leave. Once they’ve gone, Ricardo asks for his money again but Rebeca throws a drink in his face and leaves.

Outside, Marcelo and Lucia are leaving when Rebeca comes and warns Lucia not to say anything. Lucia tells her that she’s not surprised at her behavior and Rebeca grabs her and tells to be careful because if she falls, Marcelo will fall too. Marcelo screams at Rebeca that she’s lying because nothing happened between them but Rebeca doesn’t care because it’s her word against his and leaves. Marcelo then asks about the man Rebeca was with and Lucia tells him that she’ll explain it later.

Amador’s servant tells him that Alonso is downstairs. Amador, who’s already day drinking, is shocked but he goes to meet him. Downstairs, Amador is cordial but Alonso is dry; he tells him that he brings his counter offer for the dissolution of their partnership. Amador asks why he didn’t bring to his lawyer, Ricardo, and Alonso tells him that it’s faster and he thought Amador wanted this deal with as soon as possible. Amador doesn’t want to accept the low-ball offer but Alonso tells him he’s fair and that he will welcome a legal battle. Amador tells him that he can’t accept this money for all the years he worked there and helped grow the company. Alonso tells him that his father build the company and he inherited it and Amador only worked there because he was a friend but all that’s over. Amador blames Marcelo for his woes but Alonso tells him that it was his own fault and it’s a shame that their friendship ended this way. When Alonso has left, Amador calls someone and asks to meet tem immediately.

Rebeca arrives home to find Brigida waiting for her. Rebeca is pissed and asks what she’s doing there. Brigida tells her she’s sorry to bother her but she’s really alone and depressed and she needs a friend. Rebeca tells her she also had problems and she can’t hear hers on top of that. Brigida suggests they continue their relationship like before but Rebeca blows her off. Brigida tells her that it’s okay because someone as selfish as her can’t have anyone including her own sisters: one of which she barely talks to (Magdalena) and another who’s husband she married when she was still fresh in her grave (Adriana).

Milagros is mad at what happened in Marcelo’s office. She didn’t know why she went in the first place. Rafaela tells her that it’s good she did so Marcelo knows she cares. She chides Milagros for not going to lunch with Marcelo and Lucia though and Milagros tells her that she hates Lucia and doesn’t want to see her. Daniela comes in and Milagros tells her that she doesn’t do anything to help her with Marcelo either and leaves. Daniela asks Rafaela what happened and Rafaela tells her she caught Marcelo and Lucia kissing at the office and she was mad. Daniela then tells her that she’s tired of being the punching bag and it’s true what Rafaela said yesterday: she’s a good woman and someone will be lucky to have her. Either way no one can hurt her like Marcelo hurt her.

Marcelo and Lucia are eating lunch at his apartment. Marcelo is shocked that Alonso doesn’t know whom he’s married to. Lucia tells her that it’s not surprising because it took her a while to notice it too. Even though he didn’t love her, Rebeca was great for him and nice to her. Marcelo then asks where they’re relationship deteriorated and Lucia tells him that it was after the Rodrigo debacle. Marcelo comments that she’s been a surprising discovery and Lucia agrees. She then tells him that they will all need to regain forces because the Federico thing is going to explode soon. She asks if Marcelo is worried since Rebeca also told him that if she falls, he would fall along with her. Marcelo tells that what needs to happen will happen.

When she gets home, Brigida finds Nora waiting for her but she doesn’t want to see her. She tells her that Rebeca was right and the only reason their families were friends was convenience. Nora confesses that Alonso wants to gets divorced and that’s why Rebeca’s so on edge. Brigida tells her that it’s sad but it doesn’t give her the right to treat her so bad. Nora tells Brigida that she loves her a lot and is sad about what happened, regardless of how deteriorated their relationship has become. Nora then asks her if she knows where she can find Rodrigo.

Leti tells Sergio that he’s such a nice friend to accept Rodrigo, especially after all he did. Sergio thinks he’s suffered enough but Leti tells him that he should’ve married Nora as punishment. Sergio tells her that both he and Rodrigo realized Nora was a mistake but Leti tells him that he’s probably super happy with Gloria. So much so that he’s taking her to Mario’s wedding. Sergio asks her if she’s jealous but Leti reiterates that he’s too smug and leaves to drop off documents. Outside, she runs into Alonso who tells her that he loves her mom and wants what’s best for her. Leti tells him that their relationship is too complicated and she deserves better. Alonso asks if she deserves Ricardo but Leti tells him that he’s no good either; her mother needs someone stable and with attachments. She then leaves.

Amador and Ricardo are discussing the Talavera partnership with Amador. Amador explains that he feels like he’s losing a lot more money than he’s gaining. Ricardo tells him he’ll talk to Alonso again but Amador tells him that he doesn’t want to talk to him. Ricardo tells him that he should accept the deal either way because he needs the money he promised right now. Amador tells him that with the money Alonso is giving him, they can’t build any business. Ricardo tells him that he needs to rob, ask for a loan or sell his soul then but he needs his money. Amador tells him that he’s not going to give him anything since he is a horrible lawyer. Ricardo warns that he will bury him if he doesn’t receive his money but Amador tells him that he’s already buried and leaves.

Mario is mad that Alonso because he went to go see Amador with him as his representative but Alonso tells him that he wants to expedite the process and not deal with criminals like Ricardo. Mario tells him that he read Ricardo’s history and knows about the fraud. Alonso wonders why he didn’t investigate him when he was going to marry Magdalena because they would’ve saved each other a lot of heartbreak. Mario tells him not to lament that now but then confesses that Ricardo might be obsessed with his family. Alonso asks if he said that because Ricardo is inventing that he and Rebeca were together before Magdalena’s wedding. Mario confesses that he doesn’t think its lie because Rebeca came to see him and asked for help earlier in the week because Ricardo is blackmailing her. Alonso asks for details immediately.

Rodrigo is cleaning up the apartment when Nora comes to visit him. She silently laughs at the broom he’s holding and comes in. She’s happy that he’s out and says he should thank her that he’s out because she provided him with an alibi. Rodrigo tells her that it was because of Sergio that he’s out and asks why did she lied to the police. Nora tells him that she needs his help to separate Marcelo from Lucia before they get married. Rodrigo wishes them well and Nora is furious at his lack of response to the news. Rodrigo suggests she move on like he’s trying to do but Nora is not giving up: if Marcelo isn’t hers, he’s not going to be anybody’s.

Ricardo is having a drink when the doorbell keeps ringing. He goes to answer it and it’s Alonso who comes in and tells him that he hoped to see his face again. Ricardo asks if he’s there to defend Magdalena or Rebeca. Alonso tells him that Rebeca knows how to take care of herself, especially if she’s his friend. After showing Grandma Seo his new determination, Do-hyun goes looking for Ri-jin. He finds her in the basement, sitting motionless as her buried memories resurface. She tells Do-hyun she’s fine, but when she tries to stand up she faints and falls against him.

Do-hyun calls Dr. Seok to his apartment to check on Ri-jin. Dr. Seok doesn’t seem very worried, but he asks Do-hyun to take extra care of Ri-jin. Though she’s tough now, she used to struggle with limiting her empathy for patients. Dr. Seok makes fun of himself for worrying like a father, but his concern is both genuine and touching.

Ri-jin sleeps fretfully, her dreams troubled by fragments of her traumatic past. Do-hyun gets up to make a call, but Ri-jin calls out to him, still deep within her nightmare: “Don’t leave. Play with me.”

Do-hyun grasps her hand in his and promises to stay by her side. He’ll look after her now, he says, so she shouldn’t worry about anything and just rest.

In his room in his parents’ house, Ri-on bolts upright, wondering if he had a nightmare. He returns to his story, narrating while we return to Do-hyun keeping watch over Ri-jin. Ri-on writes that the thread of memory, once it begins to unwind, will not stop until it reaches an end—whatever that end may be.

When Do-hyun wakes up, Ri-jin is gone. He finds her downstairs in the kitchen, looking quite chipper considering her difficult night. She roots through the fridge and says she wishes she could have some of her mother’s cooking.

Looking very downcast, Do-hyun apologizes for getting Ri-jin involved in his business. She teases him for being all serious, and tells him that she already told her parents the truth about her staying in Korea. Ri-jin then declines Do-hyun’s offer to take her home, saying that if he’s truly sorry he should buy her a meal instead.

Do-hyun treats Ri-jin to samgyeopsal and soju, feeding her a lettuce wrap with a shy smile that just kills me. He asks about Ri-jin’s nightmare, but she tells him to keep the serious talk for later. She has someone else who interprets her dreams: Ri-on.

This leads naturally to a discussion of Ri-on, and all of the interactions Do-hyun has had with him so far begin seem suspicious in light of what Do-hyun now knows. He asks what kind of person Ri-on is, and Ri-jin replies that even she isn’t entirely sure because her brother has so many different sides.

Do-hyun wants to ask if Ri-on is Ri-jin’s biological brother, but he stays silent and instead chides Ri-jin for drinking so much right after being ill. Ri-jin replies that you would have better luck telling a dog to stop eating poop than getting her to eat samgyeopsal without soju—a girl after my own heart, this one.

As they meander along the street, Ri-jin asks if Do-hyun is worried now that he’s no longer the vice president of ID Entertainment. Will he be fine without the money he’s accustomed to? Do-hyun replies that he can always sell the expensive goods Se-gi has collected over the years.

Do-hyun explains his plan, which is to find the child he thinks was in the basement with him. Ri-jin approves of this plan, simple and straightforward as it is. She realizes she forgot her phone in the restaurant, and sends Do-hyun ahead to the café to order her coffee.

But Do-hyun pauses in front of a storefront advertising tarot card readings. His eyes light up, and he heads inside.

The tarot reader (cameo by comedian Ahn Young-mi) greets Do-hyun by complimenting him on his good looks. She offers to tell his fortune, asking Do-hyun to concentrate on the girl he likes as he chooses the cards.

The person she describes sounds a lot like Ri-jin: a girl with a bright personality and a strong mind, who makes Do-hyun feel at ease and is like a ray of sunshine in his life. The other cards, however, predict many obstacles in the way of their love.

The final card is the Wheel of Fortune (look familiar?!), which represents an unavoidable fate. Their love may come to fruition, says the seer, but not without pain or hardship.

No sooner does Do-hyun leave the shop than Ri-jin walks by. She also walks in to have her fortune told… only to hear that she’s juggling too many men. HA! The Force is strong with this one.

The next card is Death, which according to the fortune teller represents Ruin, or a great catastrophe. Ri-jin should give up on love and focus on work instead, or else her pursuit for love will end in ruin.

“That’s invalid!” Ri-jin screams, just like Se-gi after his homemade Wheel of Fate chose Do-hyun. “Pick again!” Sorry dear, the cards have spoken.

Ri-jin meets Do-hyun at the café, where he’s doing in an Internet search on the reliability of tarot card reading. When Ri-jin swipes his phone to see what he’s looking at, Do-hyun tries to grab it back and they get entangled in a heart-pounding embrace.

Back at the apartment, Do-hyun asks Ri-jin why he’s only supposed to call her when he needs her. Hasn’t she ever needed him? Do-hyun asks to be more than a patient—he wants to know if Ri-jin can come to see him as a man.

Ri-jin’s answer is to invite Do-hyun to take a trip with her on the “Snowflake Train.” He can learn more about her, and they can become closer friends. They agree to meet in thirty minutes for their date, but as soon as Do-hyun starts to pack he gets a call from Chae-yeon. Excellent timing this girl has.

Chae-yeon has had a few drinks, and wants Do-hyun to come see her. He tries to refuse, but she threatens to break off her engagement with Ki-joon and tell the family and even the tabloids how Do-hyun tried to seduce her.

Ri-jin comes downstairs, ready for the trip, when Do-hyun tells her he won’t be able to go. He feels responsible for Chae-yeon because Se-gi has her so mixed up, and so he’s going to meet her even though he doesn’t have a plan. Ri-jin sends him off, but once he’s gone she jumps up and down in frustration at having their romantic getaway canceled.

After meeting Chae-yeon in a hotel bar, Do-hyun tells her this is the last time he’ll come out to meet her. Chae-yeon asks if he’d stay away even if she harmed herself, showing just how broken up she is. She reminds Do-hyun that he was the first to hold out his hand—so why is she the only one feeling cast aside? Do-hyun claims that he momentarily lost his senses, but Chae-yeon says she finally knows whom she really likes.

Meanwhile, Ki-joon’s mother and Chae-yeon’s mother walk arm-in-arm through a hotel lobby after getting massages. Ki-joon’s mother happens to see Do-hyun escorting a drunk Chae-yeon away from the bar.

Ri-jin drinks a few beers alone in Do-hyun’s apartment, still looking for a way around the fortune teller’s advice to give up on love. “Tomorrow I’m going to church,” she decides, cracking me up.

Ri-on and a friend are eating dinner with some pretty ladies, and Ri-on tries out an original Se-gi pick-up line (“You called me a very long time ago”). Everything seems to be flowing well, until Ri-on gets a call from Ri-jin asking him to take her home. He goes running out as soon as he hears that she fainted and had another nightmare.

Do-hyun arrives back at his apartment to find Ri-jin gone. She left him a note saying that she’s taking him up on his earlier offer of a break. She asks him to understand, and promises that she didn’t leave because she was mad about their canceled trip.

Back at the family restaurant, Ri-jin shares her thoughts with Ri-on. She reminds him of the time he covered her eyes so she wouldn’t see her first love with his girlfriend, and reveals that she knew the truth even before Ri-on did. She thanks him for taking care of her then, and asks him to do the same thing if she ever makes a mistake like that again.

Ri-on asks her straight out if she likes Do-hyun. Instead of answering directly, Ri-jin says that she’s been struggling lately. Not only are there her confusing feelings for Do-hyun, but there is also her nightmare and a niggling sense of déjà vu—what’s worse, she can’t talk to Do-hyun about any of this because he’s going through a harder time than she is.

Unnoticed by Ri-jin, Do-hyun overhears her talking from the driveway. He watches from a distance, listening to what Ri-jin couldn’t share with him. When Ri-jin begins to turn around, Ri-on covers her eyes with his blanket so she won’t see Do-hyun. She complains that he’s never serious and stalks inside, while Do-hyun walks away without a word.

Do-hyun drives home, thinking about everything that Ri-jin has been keeping bottled up. Remembering all the times that Ri-jin has supported him, he begins to cry.

Ki-joon and his father meet with several Seungjin executives. Since Grandma Seo fired Do-hyun, once thought to be her successor, the men believe Ki-joon’s father is a lock for the position of chairman at the next stockholders’ meeting. Dad takes a call outside—his minions have discovered the identity of someone else searching for the lost child.

Chief Ahn helps Do-hyun move his things out of the office. For his part, Do-hyun tells his friend not to worry about him, and to grab any opportunity he sees to rise. But the loyal Chief Ahn has no interest in hitching his horse to someone else’s wagon.

Ki-joon stops Do-hyun for one last confrontation in the hallway. Do-hyun reveals that he’s not going to America as planned, and Ki-joon leaves him with a warning: “Don’t show your face again around my company or my woman.” Yup… figures he’d mention the company first.

In the parking garage, Chief Ahn receives a call from Do-hyun’s mother. She’s heard about Do-hyun getting fired, and she’s come back to South Korea to raise some hell.

Mom and Do-hyun meet in a café, where she scolds her son for losing his position. Do-hyun is only concerned about the lost child, however. When Mom denies that there was another child, Do-hyun reveals that he already knows his mother is searching for him or her, and that his father was abusive. Mom, visibly flustered, says she has an urgent appointment and leaves at once.

Do-hyun has one of the flashes of pain that sometimes signal an impending personality change. A call comes in from the Omega writer, and Do-hyun arranges to meet Ri-on at another café.

Ri-on explains that his parents don’t know Ri-jin is treating Do-hyun, and that they would be upset to learn their daughter is staying with an unmarried man. But he will continue to deceive them, because he trusts in Ri-jin as a doctor; she’s too much of a professional to develop personal feelings for a patient, he says (*cough* bullshit! *cough*).

Ri-jin is slicing rice cake for the soup traditionally eaten on Lunar New Year. She marvels at how uniformly her mother cuts the rice cake, reflecting that it’s a lot like how her parents raised both her and Ri-on with the same amount of love. Her parents get noticeably anxious at this comparison, but Ri-jin only thanks them and wishes them many blessings in the New Year.

Back at the café, Do-hyun points out that Ri-on is being very careful to emphasize the professional nature of his relationship to Ri-jin. Ri-on admits he is, and asks Do-hyun to break ties with his sister once he returns to America in two months.

Ri-on goes to get coffee, while Do-hyun clutches his head in pain. When he opens his eyes again, it’s Yo-na looking out from them. She complains that Do-hyun only calls her out when he’s having a tough time, then shakes off her annoyance and declares: “It’s Yo-na’s world now!”

Yo-na gets up from the table, only to see Ri-on coming towards her with coffee. He freezes and asks tentatively, “Cha Do-hyun?” Yo-na blushes and calls him “oppa,” which just about gives Ri-on a heart attack. Yo-na screams “oppa” again and jumps into Ri-on’s arms.

Not content with just talking to “Ri-on oppa,” Yo-na goes straight in for a kiss. Ri-on holds her at arm’s length and makes an emergency call to Ri-jin, who’s still at the family restaurant. He asks if Yo-na is the personality Ri-jin warned him about before.

“Save me, Ri-jin,” Ri-on begs. “I’ll be good. I’ll do better from now on.” Ri-jin rushes to the car, warning Ri-on to do whatever Yo-na asks. If he loses her, things will get even worse than whatever he’s imagining.

Back in her school uniform and rocking the pink lipstick, Yo-na gets Ri-on to buy her food and then makes him feed it to her. The customers in the café watch, amazed, as Ri-on tries to keep Yo-na happy. His courage fails on the first attempt, and Yo-na threatens to dance on the table if Ri-on doesn’t feed her.

Ri-on still can’t bring himself to do it, however, and announces to everyone in the café that “it’s not like that.” Yo-na replies breezily: “It’s exactly like that!” Ri-on calls Ri-jin and sobs that he just can’t do it. Yo-na gives Ri-on a coy smile and says, “Catch me.” She runs out of the café, and Ri-jin orders Ri-on not to lose her.

Carefree and beaming happily, Yo-na runs down the street, which just happens to be lined with hordes of people taking cell phone videos (so long, fourth wall). Ri-jin joins the chase, advising Ri-on to use his martial arts abilities to take down Yo-na. Ri-on wails that he can’t use those on a girl!

Yo-na leads the pursuing Ri-on into an alleyway, and pouts that he’s too slow to catch her. “How about I catch you?” she cries gleefully, and launches herself at Ri-on. Ri-on fends her off while marveling at her strength, and Ri-jin catches up in time to try and break the two of them apart.

A wonderful three-way battle ensues, as Yo-na tries to catch Ri-on while fighting off Ri-jin. After a mighty struggle, Yo-na successfully lands a kiss on Ri-on’s lips.

Overjoyed at her success, Yo-na cheers and jumps in the air. Ri-jin winds up and hits Yo-na in the face with a beautiful right cross. She crumples to the pavement, clutching her lipstick and calling out for “oppa.” Ri-jin: 1. Yo-na: 0.

Do-hyun wakes up in Ri-on’s room at the family restaurant. He sees Ri-on watching him, and the two boys scream like banshees and spring apart. Ri-on promises to explain everything in detail and gives Do-hyun a change of clothing. He’s so rattled by the memory of Yo-na that he accidentally refers to himself as “oppa.” Oh, Ri-on.

Downstairs, Ri-jin grabs Do-hyun and drags him outside. She stumbles, recovers and declares she’s perfectly fine, then kicks a trash can in aggravation. Do-hyun can’t hide a tiny smile at seeing her so worked up.

Do-hyun’s mother sits beside Dad’s bed. His favorite poem collection has been left out, and Mom says she used to read it to him years ago. She opens the book and finds a picture of Dad’s first wife between two pages that had been stuck together.

Ri-jin tells Do-hyun that her brother knows about his multiple personalities; in fact, he knew since he met Se-gi. But he won’t use that knowledge for his self-interest, she says. Ri-jin turns around as if to leave for the house.

Ri-jin pauses, clearly waiting for Do-hyun to speak to her. He doesn’t, so she whirls around and reminds him to pretend to be Perry Park in front of her parents. She turns again, and when Do-hyun doesn’t stop her she scowls ferociously. Ri-jin turns back once more and says she’ll be in the kitchen if he needs her.

Ri-jin turns to leave for the third time, and this time Do-hyun calls out to her. She smiles with her back turned, then adopts an unconcerned tone when she answers him. “Even if it’s only for two months,” Do-hyun asks, “can’t I be a man to you?”

Back in Evil Dad’s hospital room, Mom says that she knew all along that he still loved his first wife. But even though she knew that, she clung to him to keep from sinking back into her sewer of a life. To protect her world, she is determined to find the missing child before Do-hyun recovers his memories.

Ri-jin recites the clause in their contract that specifies that she will not fall in love with Do-hyun or any of his personalities. He replies that it’s fine; he’ll just break the contract and pay the penalty fee.

Do-hyun steps closer, intending to kiss her to officially break the contract. But before we see if Ri-jin reciprocates or not, Do-hyun’s eye is caught by a charred photo in the trash can.

He takes out the photo, staring at it blankly. “Who is it?” Ri-jin asks. “My mother,” Do-hyun responds, pole-axed. “My mother on the birth registry.”
