Last night’s development: Jero is completely sure that he wants to anonymously grant financial aid the Monterrubio nation.

Tonight: Over at Empresas MR Honorio never recalls hearing of such a person or name as Dominique de la Rivera. He mentions that last night Blanca called to spread ill will for Adri and to advise she (Banca) would return in another skin. They are QTH is that supposed to mean? Dudes, have you never heard of a snake shedding its skin? Lawyer Soto talks about settling out of court with Monique.

Gonzo asks Hons why does Hons feel like he’s giving in? Hons says it’s not that exactly, he just blames himself for his stupidities. Maybe it would be better for him to accept the punishment as his due, to go to jail to pay for Adri being in hospital and Coni being in the arms of another.

Speaking of his ladies, Adri asks Cons about Chema. I like the fact that Adri’s thinking like Mata Hari even though she’s in traction with scrapes and bruises on her face. The doc shows up, he adores Adri and says he’s going to release her tomorrow.

Gonzo gives Hons a pep talk, stay strong, he’s too smart to give up. Soto comes back in with some documents and Gonzo asks him about his divorce papers. “You’d divorce Fina while she’s ill?” Soto asks. Gonzo asks how did he know? Then he adds that Fina is perfectly well and he wants a divorce ASAP. Gonzo and Hons look quizzical, how did Soto know?

Nata, daydreaming at a sunny outdoor cafe, recalls her sincere joy at her specious marriage. Beth the receptionist arrives and stares upward, slack-jawed. She tells Nata to look up. Gasp! It’s a tag by Jero the urban artist! One of their wedding pictures, greatly enlarged, hangs from the side of a building.

Soto calls Fina and starts pressuring. She lied to him and his patience has limits! She grumbles to herself that now she’s going to have to sleep with him. Ah well, maybe there’ll be a little sweet with the sour.

Berta shows up and they natter at each other. Fina thinks Berta should act more like a woman suffering because of her husband. Berta guffaws and saunters out.

Isidro and Inez kvetch about Andresito. Isidro is bummed that Pepa and Fina didn’t turn out to be the same person. He says Tony’s men have searched everywhere and maybe they should all just accept that Regina’s daughter will never appear.

Jero scampers into the middle of Nata’s irritation and plants a big wet one on her that lasts through the entire commercial break.

Nata tries to slap Jero but he grabs and kisses her arm, “Don’t call me love!!!” she insists, “Tonto!”
He: Mi amor!
She: Tonto!
He: Mi amor!
She: Tonto!
You get the picture. She pouts and insults, he blows her a kiss and happily waves as she stalks off. “See you soon my love,” he laughs.

Alf cries to the doctora, she doesn’t know how to handle what’s happening. Things are worse than ever and the tension is dense. Doc defines the problems which are related, 1. Ponchito wants them to live together, 2. Yet there is the problem of her infidelity and pregnancy. Doctora tells her little by little they will help solve the problems. Something they can do right away is determine who the father is. Alf is all over that idea, the not knowing is horrible.

Slackers Berta and Sele are hanging out as usual drinking, texting and sniping at each other. Sele says she’s waiting for a call from Augie and she refuses to call him because he's old-fashioned that way. (Hah!!). “And if he doesn’t call?” queries Berta. Sele says of course he’ll call, his love nest was an inferno the other night. Chema is a child compared to a man like Augie.

What a surprise, Augie walks in and kisses Sele, such a surprise! She re-introduces him to Berta. How could he forget such a beautiful woman? he says, prompting Berta to smirk and Sele to sneer.

Back inside EM Beth gushes at the romanticism of Jero. Nata insists they are far from being in love and she wants him out of her life. Beth swoons over the dreamboat Jero and Nata snaps at her to get back to work.

Sele invites Augie to join them but he says he’s busy. Maybe he’ll see her later, it depends on business. He’s up for a threesome later on but Berta declines. Augie teases surely it’s not because of her husband? Berta leaves and Sele jealously bitches at him. He tells her to cool her jets, there is no commitment between them. “Between you and I there is nothing more than sexual encounters. I’ll call you later, eh?” A smug Berta eavesdrops and grins widely.

Lazaro, playing the role of Simon Legree, madly hoes and yells at the workers to leave no stone unturned in their frantic hoeing. He yells at Carlos there is no time to eat! He stops and admits his anger is due to Karina. She made things very clear to him, she’s married and will stay married until death. Carlos advises him to give her time. Laz bellows it’s not a question of time but of decision! He’s lost all desire to study, go on with life, everything! Carlos says he needs to live for himself. Laz goes back to fulminating and hoeing.

Kari and Mati are in Kari’s house discussing redecorating and Kari’s future. Kari says she’s going to work for the church and bury her womanhood inside herself. Mati advises Kari to start living life again. Kari says something about not being free until she dies, or Alvaro dies first. See? Hope springs eternal.

Jero gives Regina the 411 regarding his art project. She says he’s very brave. He says he has to pay for his mistakes. Then win her love once again, she advises.

Soto faces Fina and whines that she used him. She tells him to spare her the melodrama and if he blabs to Gonzo he’ll be fired that very second. Soto thinks Gonzo would never fire him for telling the truth. Fina cackles that ultimately she’s the wife, ex-wife whatever, she’s going to receive a substantial pension while Gonzo will fire Soto immediately. He calls her perverse. She corrects him, she’s intelligent. He’d better shut his mouth so nobody knows his infidelity to the company. He departs, a beaten man.

The bank manager Luciana arrives and happily announces to the EM principals that the bank has decided to front EM the loan. Nata jumps up, kisses dad and they both exclaim “Guau” in unison. Very cute. Happy faces all around the table. Hons wonders about their change of attitude. Luciana says it must have been a change of mind, they’ve worked many years together.

Jero calls Carlos to tell him he’ll eventually get Renata back and to tell him to manage La Bonita and make himself at home at the hacienda.

Alf tells Padre about her upcoming amnio. He says whatever Marina recommends is OK by him because Marina would NEVER do anything to put Alf in any danger. (Anvil alert!) But what if Doc Alvaro is the dad? Alf thinks it’s better to know. Padre offers to help with the cost so she doesn’t have to wait. “Let’s get it over with!”

Marina, in white jacket and with black bag, visits La Bonita to inquire about Jero’s return. Mati loudly announces he’s very busy Trying To Convince His Wife To Return Home. Carlos tries to nudge her aside but she shakes him off. “God willing he’ll return home with her very soon. You understand, right?”

Nata’s over at Adri’s room describing Jero’s stunt. Adri and Coni think it’s romantic. Nata accuses them of having bad memories. She will never forgive him, never! Coni and Adri have a loving goodbye as Adri thanks Cons for her care in spite of her dad.

Gonzo, Hons and Matias think the bank’s change of position is odd but they are happy nevertheless. They start making plans to recuperate the business.

Berta knocks on Augie’s door. She’s come to satisfy her part of the bargain. He’s pleased when she pushes him onto the bed.

There is a knock on Adri’s door, “Room Service, dinner!” The orderlies, sporting black bow ties, wheel in a cart with wine and strawberries. Jero strikes again. He wants them all to celebrate Adri’s quick recovery. Nata glares as he mouths a quick kiss.

It’s dark, clothing is strewn about the floor, and the mating serpents are in a cold-blooded but somewhat passionate tangle. “Nuff said.

Nata protesteth too much. Jero informs her the Hospital Director himself approved this meal. She threatens to call security and locks herself in the bathroom. Adri laughs and Jero tries to enlist her as an accomplice. In the bathroom Nata scolds herself for her inability to resist Jero.

Oh for pete’s sake. Friggin’ Cata strides into Gonzo’s office with fire in her eyes. Gonzo gulps.

The slimy sex serpents are sprawled in satisfied disarray. Berta brags that she’s very discrete. Augie’s glad because it’s part of their bargain. She says Nata must never know that Rafa was the father of her baby. Augie moves in for round two. Ack.

Fina’s in a fit because Berta is missing. The maid says’ she’s not with Sele because Sele called looking for her.

Gonzo asks Cata to give him the opportunity to prove his intentions toward Regina are good. Cata says no, he’s married. Gonzo informs her he’s getting a divorce so Regina can take her rightful place by his side. Cata points out it could be years before he’s got the divorce papers in his hand. How would he feel if one of his daughters was going out with a married man? “What would you say? ‘Oh I’m so happy for you honey, he’s such a great guy, he’s still married but of course he has the best intentions for you.’” Gonzo insists if the guy was honest and up front he’d be OK with it. Cata says clearly Gonzo is the kind of guy who can justify anything. How sad that Regina dumped an upstanding unmarried freakazoid like Tony. Oh yeah, if he’s such a catch then why is he still single, huh? Huh? Sheesh.

Regina and Inez discuss perpetually angry Cata. Regina adds she hasn’t heard a thing from Tony. Regina is distressed when Inez tells her Cantu is dead. Regina says she can’t let Tony continue looking for her daughter. She wants Gonzo to take over the search; she will never stop looking for her daughter.

Tony sits in La Mentira drinking and obsessing about Regina in the arms of Gonzo. He wants to see Regina pay for despising him.

Jero regales Adri with tales of past ailments while she pretends to stuff her face with unripe berries. Nata finally emerges from the baño and Jero unveils the menu: filet mignon, Alaskan salmon, and Nata’s favorite...mushrooms. He tries to rub noses, says he loves her freckles, and slips out the door. Nata can’t stand it and finally tucks into the grub.

Oh yawn, Matias is dining with Hit-N-Run’s sister. There is an extremely cool mural on the wall behind them. She wonders about his relationship with Adri. Is she girlfriend or family? He says she’s like family and takes way to long to spit the words out. He says they have a special relationship but unfortunately he’s married. She never would have guessed. He says he wants a divorce but she, no. HNR’s Sis says she can understand why wifey wants to stay by his side. I repeat, Yawn.

It’s dark and a pair of shapely feet enter a house, slip out of their heels and tiptoe toward the stairs. “Where have you been?” snarls Malafina to her spawn. Berta lies she was out with Sele. Oops, busted in the lie. Berta shrugs and says she’s not going to live like a nun. Fina demands to know the details of Berta’s date. Berta pauses and smiles, nope, better that mom doesn’t know and better that mom should butt out of her life. She was with a man who took her too the stars. Berta informs Fina she’s not going to be all bitter because Fina’s plans for her didn’t turn out. She’s going to move on with her life and her bed.

Next morning Soto goes to Matias’s office to tell him there is a problem with his marriage contract. First, it doesn’t specify that the marriage is hijo-dependent, second and more worrisome, the date for divorce was not set at one year but at ten. “QUE?????”

Avances: Renata gripes to Coni and Adri that Jero is everywhere. Augie makes his move then becomes angry when Jero interrupts a private moment with the prized Renata.

WEDNESDAY ON COLOR OF PASSION EPISODE 72

The Old: Rodrigo refuses to help Nora on her quest to break up Lucia and Marcelo. Alonso confronts Ricardo in his apartment about blackmailing Rebeca, and gets an earful about how Ric revealed the truth to Adriana, and then mysteriously and conveniently (for Rebeca) she had her accident the same day. Alonso refuses to believe it (but he really does), and tries to strangle the real truth out of Ric.

The New:
Ricardo sticks to his story, and adds more details. He tells Al that on the day he told Adriana the truth, she had somehow found him in his no-tell-motel. After learning the truth about her trifling sister, she started having baby pains, and he took her to the hospital. They examined her, and then sent her home with Rebeca. And later that day, Adriana had her “accident”.  Al stays firm, and orders Ric to stay the hell away from and not approach ANY of his women—Rebeca, Magdalena, Nora, Lucia, Sara, and Leticia! “If you do, you’ll regret ever being born.” Ric rubs his aching neck. Al barely makes it outside Ric’s door, then collapses in the hallway and pops a heart pill. He tries to convince himself that Ric lied.

Hallelujah! Lucia has finally gotten a new cell phone! She shares her number with Marcelo as she walks with him through the fabrica. She regrets not attending the mass for his brother later that evening, but Marcelo knows it’s best not to provoke the Momster. He thinks he can best handle her and her interrogations about THAT woman who “killed” Federico. Lucia comments on how much Marcelo loved his brother, and that she would have liked to have known him. She points out the irony of her actually having a living sister, but not being able to enjoy her company. They agree to meet up after the mass in Marcelo’s apartment, and smooch a bunch without getting caught by any of the other employees.

Nora, meanwhile, is taxing her little devious brain, trying to come up with a new way to annoy the heck out of Lucia and Marcelo, without that stupid Rod’s help. A light bulb goes on over her head, and she ransacks Lucia’s room until she finds a set of keys in a drawer. Tere interrupts, and wants to know why Nora is in Lucia’s room, and why she locked (poner segura) the door? Nora is her usual rude, haughty self, but Tere is suspicious.

Amador saunters into the fabrica, and we know it’s time for another showdown. We also know some lovely talavera is going to get hurt in the process. Marcelo, Nazario, Lalo, and all the other employees stare Amador down. He returns their glares, then picks up an innocent piece of talavera, and smashes it to the ground! He picks up another, and another, and another, and does the same.

Marcelo finally grabs him and orders him to stop. Amador slips out of his grasp, grabs a large pair of SCISSORS, and threatens to use them on Marcelo and/or Naz. He curses the fabrica to fail/sink (hundir), and blames everything on Marcelo, accusing him of fooling Al and seducing his daughters and wife. Lalo takes the opportunity to whack the scissors out of Amador’s hand with a plank, Marcelo punches him in the gut, and three employees grab him and drag him away. Marcelo orders him to get out! Amador huffs and puffs, and kicks shards of talavera as he stumbles out.

Al confronts Rebeca at home about Ricardo. Thinking Lucia ratted her out about her and Ric’s lunch date, she’s ready to badmouth her niece/stepdaughter. Nope. Al heard nothing from Lucia, but from Ric himself! And he learned some interesting things…He recounts how Ric revealed the truth to Adriana about Rebeca, just shortly before Adriana had her accident. “What did you do? What did you do to Adriana?!” Al grabs Rebeca’s arms and starts to shake her. Rebeca denies, denies, denies. She has no idea why Ric is making all this crap up about her! Al isn’t buying it anymore. Ric must have some reason to only be attacking her. He starts clutching at his arm, and sits down to take a breath. Rebeca takes the opportunity to continue to spin the tale of how Ric is persecuting her, precisely to cause trouble in their marriage. She tries to escape, claiming she’s going to call his cardiologist, but Al pulls her back. “I don’t need a doctor! I’m not planning on dying, before I know the truth. I swear, I’m going to find out.” With that, he leaves the room, still clutching his arm. Alone, Rebeca curses Ricardo. “Damn you, Ricardo Marquez!” She pops a headache pill.

Lucia visits Leti, who’s taken the rest of the day off from work. Lucia’s concerned her BFF is ill because of the upcoming nuptials between her aunt and Mario, but Leti says she’s actually happy for them now. She’s ticked off that Sergio is going to the wedding with Gloria, and despite denying that she has more than friendly feelings for him, she admits she’s jealous. Lucia is just happy that Leti is crushing on a guy her own age! Plus, Sergio is a great guy, hard-working, AND handsome! Lucia tells her amiga to go for it, and tell Sergio how she feels about him. Leti would rather die! She’s sure Sergio has her firmly in the friend-zone, and sees this as part of her pattern of always choosing to crush on the wrong guy. Lucia gives her bestie a consoling kiss on the cheek.

Mario and Sergio discuss work and Leti. Sergio lets Mario know that Leti turned down attending the wedding with him, while Mario lets Sergio know that Leti seems to have a problem with Sergio too. Sergio can’t think of what he could have done to offend her. Mario tells him to find out.

Amador’s taken the drinking and sulking home. Brigida’s not having it. It’s bad enough having him there, but him being drunk makes it even worse. Amador tells her that she can get the hell out, if she doesn’t like it. “That’s what I should do. Get out of here, and DIVORCE you. Just like Al is doing with Rebeca.” Amador doesn’t appreciate being compared with his EX-BFF, the marvelous Alonso Gaxiola, and smashes his half-full whiskey glass to the floor. He tells Brigida to divorce him if she wants, because he won’t have a penny to give her in alimony, thanks to the wonderful Alonso screwing him out of the money he should rightfully get from the dissolution of their partnership.

Al, meanwhile, has gone to Adriana’s grave to ask for her help in discovering the truth about her wretched sister and the despicable Ric.

Rebeca has decided to get rid of Ricardo before that can happen. She tries to pressure the police detectives to arrest Ric for the fraud he committed up north. She’s annoyed to learn that they can’t do anything because, 1) it’s out of their jurisdiction, and 2) the company that brought the charges went out of business and no longer exists. Or does she have another crime to accuse Ric of that they can make a case with?...Rebeca mumbles that she has lots to accuse him of, then storms out. The detective rolls his eyes. “Women!”

Lalo checks in with Marcelo about Amador’s renewed accusations. Marcelo assures him that Amador is history in the fabrica, since Al is in the process of dissolving their partnership. “It’s about time!” Marcelo excuses himself to head off to this brother’s 5-month death mass. Lalo smacks himself for being so insensitive. On his way out, Marcelo asks Normita for Al, since he hasn’t shown up to the fabrica all day. No one knows where he’s been—except the cemetery caretaker, who kicks him out when it’s closing time.

Nora waits for Rafaela to leave Marcelo’s apartment, then makes her way upstairs and lets herself in with the keys she pilfered from Lucia’s room.  She then goes into full stalker mode, and proceeds to spray her perfume all over Marcelo’s bed and pillows, caress his clothing, roll around in his bed, kiss his photo, and search through his nightstand drawer, where she finds THE SUICIDE PISTOL. She seems almost hypnotized by it, as she examines and then loads it with the bullet cartridge she also finds in the drawer. She aims at the audience, and obviously enjoys the sensation of power the gun gives her.

Lucia takes leave of her bestie, and explains why she’s not going to the mass for Marcelo’s brother—his Momster can’t stand her. She knows Momster prefers Daniela, and she’s sure Dani will be at the mass. Leti says she met Dani at her cousin’s funeral. “She not ugly in the least, but she’s super arrogant (presumidita). She’s got nothing on you! I don’t know why Marcelo’s mom can’t see that you’re the best option for him.” Lucia throws the compliment right back at Leti. SHE’S the best option for Sergio. Go get your man, girl! Forget Gloria! Lucia reminds Leti she can call her on her new cell phone. Leti teases that it’s about time Lucia emerged from the Stone Age (la Edad de Piedra)!

Dani claims to be sick to get out of going to Fede’s depressing mass. Milagros lets her off the hook with only a minimal guilt trip--- after all, Fede was NOTHING to Dani… Dani ignores the dig, and calls Ric to set up a date.

Rebeca storms past Mario’s new secretary, Felicia, who tries desperately and unsuccessfully to stop her. Rebeca reads Mario the riot act for deceiving her. The info he gave her on Ricardo was useless and out of date! Why didn’t he tell her?! “Because I didn’t know!” Rebeca is sure he did it on purpose so that she couldn’t get rid of Ric, and now he’s making up yet another lie about her! Mario looks like he’s getting tired of all of Rebeca’s drama, and tells her he told Alonso everything about how she came to him for help because Ric was blackmailing her. Al isn’t just his client, but also his friend. Rebeca is LIVID. She knocks the documents off Mario’s desk, and calls him a traitor (traidor), before storming out.

Unfortunately, she’s exiting the building just as Magda is arriving. SLAP! “Leave my fiancé alone! Don’t come near him again! Or what? Are you thinking of messing with him too and sleeping with MY man?! Get it through your head—he doesn’t want to help you!” Rebeca smugly says that remains to be seen, then tries to sashay away, but Magda’s not having it. She yanks her back by the arm and lets her sister know she knows her latest dirt, about how she got involved with Marcelo’s brother. But nothing surprises her about Rebeca anymore. It’s only just confirmed what she knew long ago. “You respect NOTHING and NO ONE! Not even yourself. But your days are numbered, Rebequita, and you know why? Because you’re about to drown in your own venom.” And with that final word, Magda shoves her sister aside, like the trash she is, and strides into her fiancé’s office building.

Inside, Felicia, who learns fast, greets Magda very differently from the last time, and with the deference her boss’ fiancé deserves. Magda notes the difference to Mario, then asks what her sister wanted. Mario says he doesn’t want to argue again, and Magda takes a deep breath and calms herself down. That’s not why she came to see him. She just came from the gynecologist…Despite her age, her eggs and uterus are in perfect shape and ready for business! Woohoo!!! Mario’s ready to get down to business right now, and Magda doesn’t object! He closes and locks his office doors with a big smile on his face.

Padre Samuel says the mass for Federico. After the mass, Mili and Marcelo go down to the tombs to visit Fede. She takes the opportunity to make him swear on his brother’s grave that he will one day tell her that woman’s name. Marcelo tearily says that day is coming soon.

Little Red Riding Dani is just about to change her mind and run out of the restaurant, when the Big Bad Wolf arrives. She’s nervous about getting involved so soon after her heart was broken, and getting involved with a man so much older. Ric is all understanding and soulful looks. He says they can just let things flow between them—if it happens, it happens. He kisses her hand seductively. Dani blushes.

Almost as soon as Sara gets home, she gets a visitor—a very distraught looking Al (who’s still clutching his arm!). Sara wants to get him medication. “Sara, what I have can’t be fixed with medicine.”

Rebeca’s looking for different kind of medicine—the kind you find in a bar. She distractedly orders a martini from the bartender, then becomes captivated by the large KNIFE he uses to slice the lime wedges.

Al tells Sara everything Ric shared with him, including the detail about him taking Adriana to the hospital and Rebeca picking her up. Although Sara isn’t defending Rebeca, she knows the kind of man Ric is, and doesn’t think Al can blindly trust him. Al knows, but he’s determined to find the truth, and that’s why he’s asking for Sara’s help in finding proof. The doctor who treated Adriana has already passed away, but Sara could find the record of Adriana having been treated in the hospital that day. Sara agrees, but her priority right now is making sure Al gets home to rest. Al wisely knows that if he goes home, rest is the last thing he’ll get. Sara instead takes him to lie down in her room.

Leti works up the courage to go see Sergio, but instead runs into Rod, who’s taking out the trash. She’s actually civil to him, and gives him her condolences about Ligia. He tells her that Sergio is out on a date with Gloria, and Leti calls herself stupid and hurries out of the building. Meanwhile, Sergio picks up Gloria. She’d prefer to go to his place (hint, hint), instead of out. He tries to lower her expectations, first pointing out that Rod lives with him now, and then basically letting her know that he’s not as into her and she is into him. Gloria’s just happy to know that he’s not in love with Nora anymore, and is ready to give it her all and take the risk. She kisses him. He’s clearly not moved.

Lucia finishes making herself pretty before going to see Marcelo. She looks for the apartment keys, and internally questions where they could be. Nora stops her on the way out, and looks like the cat who ate the canary when she learns Lucia is on her way to Marcelo’s place.

Ric has returned home from his date with Dani. As he goes to open his front gate, he hears a woman approaching and turns to face her. It’s Rebeca, and her right hand is suspiciously behind her back.
Rebeca: Curse the hour you appeared!
Ric: Didn’t you tell me that I came back to ruin (deshacer) your life?
Rebeca: Yes. And now I’m going to ruin yours!

Rebeca brings her hand from behind her back and reveals a large carving knife. Ric stops smiling. Rebeca doesn’t hesitate, and plunges the knife deep into Ric’s left shoulder, pinning him against the doorframe. He cries out in pain and shock, and grabs hold of the handle of the knife as he curses Rebeca and slides down the wall.

WEDNESDAY ON REBEL - EPISODE 16 ON JOY PRIME @ 8: AM

Four years later, Eorini walks in a row of palace maids, but which one is she? There are two girls that the camera focuses on, both looking intelligent and at the right age to be Gil-dong’s baby sister.

Gil-dong oversees his beautiful property as Ilchung asks if he’s ready for their reunion day with all the other Hong brothers. Soboori, Yonggae, Keutsae, Eop-san, and Segul all arrive in various states of luxurious dress, looking happy to see each other. After they enter the gate, they greet Gil-dong with half-cheeky, half-respectful bows as “The Great Elder.” When Ga-ryung comes out from a side door, they say hello to her with fondness.



Yeonsangun feeds his golden eagle scraps of meat as he listens to a man’s thanks—it’s Scholar Song, who has come to bow to the king for interceding on behalf of Choongwongoon. It seems that Yeonsangun has released Choongwongoon from his state of house arrest and shunned exile. The former royal is outside, not a part of this conversation but in front of the palace gates, bowing four times for forgiveness with a completely changed aura in his eyes.

Inside, Yeonsangun warns Scholar Song that although his father may have relied upon the scholar, he is not the same, and he subtly hints that it may take some effort to come into his inner circle. Mori stands by Choongwongoon’s side as he completes his bows.

Later, when Scholar Song and Choongwongoon talk, the former royal profusely thanks the scholar for being his salvation. Then they talk about his future plans now that he has been released. Scholar Song tells Choongwongoon that it is the fervor of young men, especially young noblemen, that is the most powerful thing in Joseon.

He knows that Choongwongoon still burns with anger toward the peasants who framed him and got him into this state. So, Scholar Song goes on to say that even without planning his revenge, Choongwongoon can achieve it just by wielding that power.



Starting the next day, Choongwongoon and Scholar Song begin their campaign to influence the country’s youth. Scholar Song preaches in the streets to commoners and noblemen alike about how there is a natural hierarchy that must be followed: between child and parent, and between peasants and noblemen. If this hierarchy is breached, then chaos will reign, because order has been disrupted. Mistress Jo looks engrossed in his teachings as he continues to spout his passionate ravings about how the order of the world will collapse if they do not adhere to a strict hierarchy.

Back at Bandit HQ, after they finish a meal together, everyone gives Ga-ryung storybooks as gifts. As a return present, she says she’ll tell them one of her stories, but all the Amogae Avengers try to stop her, wincing as she goes to retrieve her storybook despite their protests. And once she begins reading, everyone at the feast table falls fast asleep except for Gil-dong. She’s reading a typical love story, and he smiles at her, completely enthralled, while Soboori watches their cute dynamic from the corner of his eye and smiles.



Ilchung brings the case of Kang Tae-sung to Gil-dong’s attention, since the man is a scholar from a middling noble family. He loves his half-brother who was born to another mother, a concubine/gisaeng. The brother was bullied in school because of his lesser social stature and became paralyzed because of the other people’s cruel violence against him.

So Kang Tae-sung piggybacks his brother every day to school, and he requests that Gil-dong get revenge on behalf of his brother at their meeting. After paying proper respect to “The Great Elder,” Kang Tae-sung is granted his wish when Gil-dong orders Keutsae to take care of it.

Later, when Kang Tae-sung and his brother are about to be heckled by bully scholars again, Keutsae, who has been watching, follows the bullies and beats them up.



Kang Tae-sung presents a box full of silver to Gil-dong as thanks, but Gil-dong refuses. With an expression of intense anger, Gil-dong says that he hates people like Kang Tae-sung more than the people that beat his brother up because he isn’t man enough to do anything but complain and cry himself.

Soboori approaches Gil-dong about a marriage offer that has come in for Ga-ryung. Although he doesn’t seem too pleased, he agrees to see the suitor, and when he views the man from afar, Ilchung comments that the man is very handsome, with a straight nose, clear skin, and tall stature. To top it all off, he is rumored to be a hard worker. Gil-dong nitpicks every detail, saying that the nose is too big, he has clearer skin, and to be called tall, the suitor must be at least his height. With a knowing click of the tongue, Ilchung remarks that at this rate, Ga-ryung will never get married.

But Gil-dong eventually does go to Ga-ryung to ask whether she wants to meet with the man who has asked for her hand. Trying to discern his inner feelings about her, Ga-ryung tells Gil-dong that she’ll do whatever he says—if he wants her to meet him she will, and if he doesn’t want her to, she won’t.

For a moment, she has a crestfallen expression when he says that she should meet with the suitor, but she soon recovers and agrees. Gil-dong accepts her decision, and the next day, Ga-ryung is set up with this unknown man.



She waits at a table full of food for the man who has asked for her hand, but he doesn’t come. Impatiently, Gil-dong watches in the background, but Soboori reports to Gil-dong that the man has taken back his offer because there’s a rumor going around in the streets that Ga-ryung is already betrothed.

A flashback shows that this was all a part of Ga-ryung’s plans to get Gil-dong jealous. She originally asked Soboori to bring this man into the equation, and she was also the one who spread the rumors. Soboori promised to do as she said as long as she wouldn’t read him any of her stories anymore, ha.

When Ilchung finds out that Ga-ryung was the source of the rumors herself, he tells Gil-dong, who is completely taken aback. Gil-dong confronts Ga-ryung, and she says that it’s true that she does have someone she likes. She’s known him for a long time, but he doesn’t return her affections.

Of course, Gil-dong is surprised, because he’s still probably under the impression that she harbored a crush on him. So when she tells him that she wants to introduce her soon-to-be lover to Gil-dong, he doesn’t look to pleased by the prospect.



Grumbling, Gil-dong stands with Ga-ryung in the courtyard gazebo awaiting this mysterious man, who is the object of her affections. With a wide smile, Ga-ryung starts describing her love, a merchant who uses his money for good, who is also handsome beyond belief, with soulful eyes that make her flutter.

Not able to take any more, Gil-dong cuts her off by saying that the suitor is late. Then she tells him that the man is already here, and Gil-dong looks around. She confesses directly to him that the man she loves is none other than Gil-dong. Although his memory flashes back to how she shook up his feelings back when she waited for him while all the others (including Nok-soo) left, he tells her that she isn’t a woman to him and leaves her there with a crestfallen expression.



Shedding tears, Ga-ryung packs all of her things as she recalls all of the times Gil-dong treated her like his sister, Eorini. Ilchung tries to stop her from leaving, but Gil-dong just tells him to let her go. She doesn’t get too far before she has to make a stop to cry her eyes out.

Gil-dong finds her sitting alone in a courtyard and asks her again if she likes him. He tells her that he is a thug, and that she should live better than a thug’s woman. Ga-ryung replies that she could love him better than Nok-soo, but that he probably doesn’t want her because she’s an ordinary girl.

Hopelessly, she turns around to leave, and Gil-dong grabs her in a passionate kiss. Afterwards, he tells her that he’s trapped in a dilemma because he doesn’t want to hurt her, so he doesn’t know what to do.

Looking up at him with a growing happiness as she realizes that he returns her feelings, Ga-ryung promises to stay by Gil-dong’s side. They proceed to engage in one of the hottest make out sessions in sageuk drama history.



Meanwhile, Nok-soo is painting her flowers while Yeonsangun sits behind her, watching her beautiful form. She tells him that some young palace servants ignore the musical troupe members because they are from the gisaeng class. Yeonsangun promises that he will assign her some servants right away, and she thanks him with bright and flirtatious eyes.

He asks if that will earn him her heart, and she tells him truthfully that she won’t give him her heart, because that’s the only way to keep him intrigued. He laughs at her audacity, but it’s a cold truth that lends a sharpness to Nok-soo’s bold seduction.



As she’s inspecting her new servants, one of the palace maids (who’s maybe Eorini?) steps forward and volunteers her services to Nok-soo willingly while the others stay back because they were born to a higher class than gisaengs.

The girl shows her mercenary side by telling her peers that she wants to serve Nok-soo well because Nok-soo serves the king. And if she becomes valuable to Nok-soo, she’ll probably also gain some of the favors that Nok-soo is given by the king. The other girl (who may also be Eorini) states that she is afraid of palace politics.

Gil-hyun is out in disguise and approaches some other people who are talking about the disappearance of a man and his family. Wondering what would cause such an interesting case, he asks whether it could have been the district magistrate who did it, and they emphatically reply no, because their magistrate is a kind man.

Having heard this, Gil-hyun decides to visit this magistrate to get to the bottom of this matter, but he’s stopped at the door by government guards. Once he shows his ID proving that he’s an undercover high-ranking investigator, he’s ushered in immediately.



Gil-hyun pursues the case further by following up with the magistrate, who tells him that the disappeared man, Chun-bong, had earlier made an appeal to the justice system regarding the death of his brother, Chun-sam. He had died while engaging in illegal forced labor for a minister who had distant ties to the royal family.

After getting into an altercation with the nobleman regarding the court dispute, Chun-bong disappeared, and after investigating, the magistrate had deduced that Chun-bong had died by the minister’s hand. The strange part about it was the fact that Chun-bong’s entire family also somehow disappeared without a word.



Gil-dong and Ga-ryung walk several rounds of the courtyard after their midnight kissing session. After the first couple back-and-forth circles, Gil-dong looks impatient to go back to their respective rooms and sleep, while Ga-ryung doesn’t want the night to end.

She tells him that there’s something she’s always wanted to do once she had a significant other: sleep together while only holding hands. She looks up at Gil-dong and asks if he wants to sleep with her. His eyes nearly bulge out of his head, and he begins hiccuping. (Keke, what naughty thoughts are going on in that head, Gil-dong?).

When they settle in for the night, Ga-ryung lies with her head on his arm and proceeds to go to sleep after a few moments of flirting. But poor Gil-dong looks extremely uncomfortable because her head is cutting off his circulation.

At first, he tries to adjust his position, but when he sees her face next to his, he stops to just stare at his beloved. Smiling, he wonders aloud, “How can you sleep at a time like this?”



On their first day together, Ga-ryung stares unashamedly at Gil-dong as he goes about his business. Then, out of the blue, she suddenly says that they probably have to get married now, because they’ve seen all of each other.

Of course, Gil-dong’s mind goes straight to the gutter, and he chokes a little before asking what she means. Ga-ryung innocently replies that because they’ve already held hands and kissed, they have to get married now—there’s no choice. Realizing that that’s what she meant, he smiles in agreement to her impromptu and inadvertent proposal.

Back on the streets, Choongwongoon has amassed a large following through his pious chantings. Every day, he has sat outside the justice department saying that chaos happens when the natural order is not followed and that a fight between a nobleman and a peasant should not be so lightly dismissed.

The case between Keutsae and the scholars who were bullying Kang Tae-sung’s brother is reopened as a result, so Gil-dong and company must deliberate on what to do. Magistrate Eom tries to resolve it by himself, but a senior officer tells him that it’s out of his hands and is all up to the new deputy governor, who happens to be Jo Jeong-hak.



When Magistrate Eom goes to Jeong-hak to persuade him to let the case go because it’s already been closed, the new deputy governor remembers what his mentor told him in a flashback. Comparing Jeong-hak to Park Ha-sung, Scholar Song had told him that he should try to gain more favor with the king just like his good friend Park Ha-sung, who rose in the ranks quickly.

He tells Jeong-hak that the best way to earn that favor is to do what Yeonsangun cannot do as a king in the palace: protect the natural hierarchy on the streets. Remembering this, Jeong-hak does not take Keutsae’s case lightly, and so the cheerful giant is imprisoned and taken in for questioning.



Gil-dong and Ilchung visit Keutsae in his cell, but the man is eating chicken happily with an optimistic outlook, since he has faith in Gil-dong. But he does show a glimmer of worry when he tells Gil-dong that for the first time, he wants to see his mother, who he’s never really thought or spoken of before.

This prompts Gil-dong to quickly arrange a meeting with Jo Jeong-hak. He doesn’t even look at Ga-ryung, who greets him worriedly when he comes back home. Later, at the meeting, Jeong-hak catches on that this is a bribe attempt, and he leaves the meeting place abruptly after reprimanding Magistrate Eom for his insolence.

Undeterred, Gil-dong just finds the next person up the power ladder and threatens the official by saying that he’ll release all the records of his alcohol purchases during the prohibition period if he won’t help. So when Jo Jeong-hak has just given the order to punish Keutsae for tussling with someone of the noble class, his superior officer (who Gil-dong threatened) comes to stop him immediately. He reprimands Jeong-hak for not focusing on more important cases in the city just because a group of protestors complained about social order.

Outside, Choongwongoon congratulates his flock for their accomplishments, since their passion for social order has led to Keutsae’s arrest. But just then, Magistrate Eom laughs (knowing that Keutsae has just been released) from behind him. Choongwongoon tears up a little with rage.

As he is being released, the Hong brothers greet Keutsae with a warm welcome, and it’s an atmosphere of success. Gil-dong watches with a smile that seems to show that he still feels uneasy about the situation, which is when Choongwongoon suddenly calls him “Footstool” from behind, with Mori at his side.
