Alfredo doesn’t shake Ricardo’s hand and Ric skedaddles quickly. When he’s gone, Al tells Dani that Ric is a freeloader (vividor), with no fixed work, and has a daughter nearly her age. He had Ric investigated. Dani is defiant. “He gave me the love and support you and Marcelo didn’t give me!” She tells him go to hell, and orders him to be gone by the time she gets back.
Leti is wearing the bracelet Ric gave her, and calls him. They meet for coffee, but the date is awkward and gets cut short when he asks her about two hot-button issues-- her childhood (she says her mom did a great job giving her a happy childhood), and why she has no boyfriend. Leti leaves quickly.
New Nice Nora tells a wary Lucia that she went to see Marcelo and offered him her friendship.
Normita tells Marcelo that Rebeca and Amador are up to something, suspiciously chatting behind closed doors, and are gunning for him. He needs to watch his back. She also tells him about the mass for Al.
Vini and Lalo fight. Lalo gets a good lick in and tells Vini to stay away from Tere.
Sergio tells Rod about the Lucia-Marcelo split. Will he change his mind about working at the fabrica now? Rod looks hopeful.
At the mass- Lucia sits with Magda and Mario. Rebeca shoves Nora to the opposite aisle. Marcelo stands next to Lucia, much to her displeasure. Roman sits behind Nora and Rebeca. Sara cries and is supported by Leti.
At his place, Ric sweet-talks Dani. “I’m just an ordinary man with ordinary defects.” He assures her that he’s not hiding anything that her daddy could use against him. They smooch.
After mass, Marcelo asks Lucia about the earring search. She says she hasn't found it yet. “Don’t pressure me!” Roman butts in, and Lucia asks him for a ride home. Once they're alone, Roman pressures her about the pregnancy test. Why is he so insistent?, she asks. He wants to know if he has a chance with her. Lucia tells him she is in love with Marcelo, despite all their problems, and not looking for any new relationship. Roman interrupts and says he’ll wait. Marcelo goes home in an angry snit. He’s certain he’s losing Lucia slowly to that doctorcito. Where’s Mili? Rafa doesn’t know.
Mili and Alfredo are out to dinner and chat about Dani and Ric. He’s glad she alerted him. She wants his help finding the woman who killed her son. Marcelo won’t tell her, and she thinks it’s one of three possibilities—Lucia Gaxiola (the ho Marcelo dumped Dani for); her sister Nora; or Rebeca, aunt of the former/mother of the latter. Her last name is Murillo. Al gets a faraway look in his eyes. I knew a woman in Mexico City years ago with that last name…Adriana Murillo. He doesn’t know what happened to her, but it’s unlikely she has anything to do with this woman.
Tere breaks up with Lalo. She is not interested in being treated like an object and subjected to Lalo’s jealousy, and she isn’t a fool to fall for some strange dude (Vini). Boy, bye! Later that night, Vini makes a creepy call to Tere, apologizing for causing problems between her and Lalo. Tere is polite, but seems a bit creeped out.
Lucia skips dinner when she gets home. She goes straight up to her room with a home pregnancy test, but decides to wait until the morning to take it. Nora tells Rebe that Roman is interested in Lucia romantically.
Mario tells Magda the will reading is tomorrow. Sadly, it would be unethical of him to read the last (un-notarized) version of the will Al gave him. The old will will be read. He mentions his convo with Marcelo about his brother, clearly prompting Magda to open up. Magda swears him to secrecy and finally tells him all about the Federico-Rebeca-Marcelo drama.
The next day, Sara goes to Naz’s house and tells him everything about what Ric told Al, Al’s final doubts about Rebeca’s role in Adriana’s death, the hospital records, and her own need to solve this mystery since it was so important to Al. Naz remembers one of the last convos he had with Al, and realizes this is what he was talking about (not the Fede-Marcelo issue). Sara asks if he’s heard anything about Clara from the police. She was in the house that day, and might be the key. Naz agrees, but tells her Clara disappeared. He is going to pressure the police. They’ll work on solving this together, but agree they shouldn’t tell Magda or Lucia.
Rebeca prepares a breakfast tray for Lucia, with a fresh glass of Abortion Juice. She has Tere take it up to Lucia, with instructions not to tell her Rebe prepared the tray, and that she MUST make sure Lucia at least drinks the juice for the vitamins. Tere’s sudden knock at her door causes Lucia to jump, and drop the pregnancy test stick she was waiting on. It falls into the drain of the bathroom sink. She tries to dig it out to no avail. Tere insists that Lucia eat her breakfast in front of her, starting with the juice. Lucia drinks it mostly all down.
Lalo calls and apologizes to Tere, before heading to work. She forgives him and they make a date for that afternoon. As he’s leaving his apartment complex, he sees a sickly looking teen boy who uses crutches, struggling down the walkway. The boy stumbles and Lalo quickly goes to his aid. The boy’s mother is right behind him struggling with their luggage, and she thanks Lalo for his help. Any time, Lalo says. He introduces himself to the boy, whose name is Benito, and his mother, who is none other than Clara!
