Marcelo promises a comatose Daniela that he will be at her side as long as she needs her and gives her a kiss on the forehead.

Rebeca walks into her off and gets into a shouting match with Nora. She demands know why no one tells her anything, ever, including the fact that Lucia is now working at Talavera Gaxiola. Rebeca explains that she was already working there but Nora tells her it’s different. She’s now there full time, doing important things and no one ever asks her to do important things. Rebeca wants to know what she wants and Nora tells her that she needs to take care of her interests. Rebeca tells her that she can do the job as Lucia does but she needs to prepare herself and she doesn’t want her near Rodrigo. Nora tells her she’ll think about it and Rodrigo is the last person she wants in her life.

Lucia gets to her closet of an office (la pobre) and sees working clearing out the mess. Rodrigo explains that he asks several workers to help clear it out but Lucia tells them that it’s not necessary. When they’ve left, she goes off on Rodrigo but he tells her that he’s only trying to help and proposes that she occupy his office in the mean time. Lucia makes it clear that he’s only making her uncomfortable and needs to stop trying to help her. Rodrigo tells her that she doesn’t have to be so mean to him because she’s having problems with Marcelo; he’s already paid his debt for all he did to her.

Leti is having lunch with Sara. She tells her that she’s going to confess her feelings to Sergio today if he doesn’t make a move since they have an unexpected close encounter yesterday. She then inadvertently tells Sara that she had seen Ricardo yesterday as well because she wanted to inquire about Daniela. Sara is taken aback but doesn’t mind and tells Leti that Daniela is doing better. Leti tells her that Ricardo is no longer with Daniela and then explains that she asked Ricardo if he ever loved Sara. He couldn’t answer because Amador came. Leti then asks Sara if she ever loved Ricardo and Sara confesses that she did. She fell deeply in love with him after she graduated but stopped the relationship when she found out that he was engaged with Magdalena. When she found out she was pregnant, he had already left Magdalena at the altar and disappeared so she couldn’t tell him. Leti then asks what she would do if he wanted to be with her again and Sara laughs it off. She only thinks about Alonso Gaxiola, that’s why it’s her destiny to be alone.

Amador is having lunch with Ricardo and explains that Rebeca demanded he fire him from Marcelo’s case. Ricardo warns Amador that he can change his testimony regarding the night Ligia died and Amador asks that he not remind him. Ricardo asks what he will do then and Amador tells him that he will continue working with him but he needs him to do it quietly while he tells Rebeca that he did as she asked. Amador then tells her that Rebeca doesn’t even acknowledge they were together and that he was an idiot for leaving Magdalena because he would have everything now, instead of nothing. Ricardo confesses that that is the ONLY mistake he’s ever made in his life.

Magdalena meets with her OB/GYN and shows him her test results. He confirms that everything is in order so Magdalena wants to know why she hasn’t conceived yet. He explains that it doesn’t necessarily happen in an instant. In fact, the more they stress about having a child, the harder it may be. Magdalena tells him that she isn’t stressed enough to prevent conception but she knows her age may make things harder. The doctor proposes that they rerun all the tests to make sure everything is in order. He asks her to change to begin the tests.

Marcelo tells Alfredo and Milagros that Daniela looks better and he even felt her press his hand. Alfredo then receives a call from someone who asks him to meet. He agrees and then tells Marcelo and Milagros that he will leave and return in an hour. Milagros asks that he keep them updated and Alfredo thanks them for coming. When he’s left, Milagros tells Marcelo that they still have to wait to see the consequences that accident will have on Daniela. She will need a lot of support, especially Marcelo’s. Marcelo tells her he knows and they leave.

Outside the hospital, Sara runs into Alfredo and tells him that she’s glad Daniela is doing a lot better. Alfredo thanks her for her help despite not being personally in charge of the case. Sara tells her that she appreciates Marcelo a lot and he personally asked that she monitor Daniela’s case. Either way, they’re not from Puebla so she’s glad she can help them out while they’re there. Alfredo thanks her again and Sara leaves.

Clarita gets home with groceries and apologizes to her comadre for being so late. Clarita then asks her where Benito is and she explains that Benito is in his room, angry with her because her asked her to take him to the police station to tell them that Clarita had nothing to do with Trini’s death and she refused. Clarita thinks it’s too risky but her comadre tells her that it would give her peace of mind, especially because they could follow her and find out where she lives. Clarita asks that she please be careful but then wonders if she could talk to Lucia because she was really nice to her the first time. Her comadre asks if she will go find her and Clarita tells her that she won’t but if she runs into her, she will tell her everything.

Normita tells Lucia that she’s happy to have her in the factory, it’s like Alonso is still with them. He was such a good man and it’s a shame that the last day he came to the factory, she didn’t know it was her last time seeing him. Lucia asks her if he felt bad the last day he was there but Normita tells her he was fine, especially after the shouting match he got into with Marcelo. Lucia then asks if he spoke with Rebeca but Normita doesn’t know if he did. Lucia thanks her and Normita leaves. Lucia then remembers her confrontation with Rebeca about Plot Earring and the list of places Rebeca went to the night Alonso died.

Alfredo meets with his PI, who confirms that Rebeca and Adriana Murillo are the same person; one just uses the other’s name when it’s convenient. He then shows Alfredo a hotel registry where Rebeca signed in as Adriana and then shows him security camera photos of the same hotel, confirming Rebeca’s identity. The PI then shows him photos of Federico entering Rebeca’s room as well. Alfredo confirms everything he thought was true.

Nazario finds Lalo and asks him about what he was going to tell him earlier. Lalo tells him that he wanted to recommend a woman that moved into his building, who is in dire need of a job, as his cleaning lady. Nazario tells him that it’s a shame but he already has Rafaela doing that and he wouldn’t want to back out. Lalo tells him that it’s a shame because this lady has a son with a disability but he asks Nazario to tell him if anything comes up.

Milagros is forbidding Rafaela from going to Nazario’s house to help him clean up. Rafaela tells her that she already worked with him and he’s an older man who needs help and she already promised. Milagros tells her that she’s her employee but Rafaela counters that Marcelo pays her since she went to go live with Daniela. Marcelo comes in and demands to know what is going on. Milagros explains that situation but Rafaela tells him that it’s Nazario’s house and Marcelo tells her it’s okay. Milagros leaves in a huff, knowing she’s lost.

Roman comes out of his office and finds Lucia. He asks his secretary to go home and then Lucia asks him if the day Alonso died Rebeca came to visit him. Roman confirms that she did, worried about Nora, but he doesn’t remember the time. He asks Lucia why she wants to know but she confesses that it’s something personal and she shouldn’t talk about it. Roman asks her if there’s anything else he can do for her and Lucia asks if he wants to go to dinner, since her father died dining at home hasn’t been the same. Roman is happy to accompany her and they leave.

Rebeca gets home and finds Alfredo waiting for her. He calls her Adriana with a sly smile and asks if she prefers to be called Rebeca. Rebeca wants to know how he found her and Alfredo tells her that he has contacts whom help him. Rebeca slams close the office doors and asks him what he wants. Alfredo wants to know why when they met 20 years ago she presented herself with her sister’s name, the same name she used when she met Federico, Marcelo’s half brother. Rebeca is speechless but Alfredo is not taking things lying down. He wants to know why she did it or he will personally ask Nora, who’s preparing a coffee for him. Rebeca proposes that they meet tomorrow, privately, and he gives her his card with an address to his apartment. Rebeca takes it as Nora walks in and Alfredo announces that he has to go but he thanks them for the hospitality. He turns around at the door and Nora notices a strange look pass between them. When he’s left, Nora asks if she finally reminds him and Rebeca answers that she might before going upstairs.

Leti and Sergio are closing up shop. Sergio is almost out the door when Leti asks him if he’s going to invite her anywhere to talk. Sergio tells her that he already has plans with Rodrigo and Leti asks if those plans are more important. Sergio confesses that they’re not and Leti calls him out on his hot-and-cold game. She smiles and plants a kiss on him. Sergio immediately responses and continues to kiss her as Felicia walks in on them. She hands Sergio some documents before running out and him and Leti laugh at the situation. Leti then asks him if his plans with Rodrigo are more important and he confesses that they are not and kisses her.

Felicia comes into Mario’s office in a huff. She tells him that she found Leti and Sergio in a compromising situation. Mario asks her what he saw and Felicia tells him that she saw them kissing and she’s sure that Leti was seducing him. Mario tells her that they’re both adults and it was about time they sorted out their feelings. He then bids her good night and leaves her there.

Lucia thanks Roman for taking her to dinner. He confesses that the pleasure of her company is all his. Lucia then tells him that she feels such peace when she’s with him and he smiles. He then asks her how Marcelo’s legal troubles are going and she explains that she hopes he’s cleared but he’s out on bail for now. Roman asks why she looks so down and Lucia explains that they can’t be together despite the fact that he’s no longer in jail. Roman tells her that that makes him hopeful and Lucia tells him that she doesn’t know but she enjoys his company. He smiles and offers her more wine.

Milagros and Marcelo walk into the same restaurant and Milagros chides him for taking her out only to make her feel better about siding with Rafaela. They walk to the hostess table and Milagros notices that Lucia and Roman are dining at one of the tables and points it out to Marcelo. Milagros proposes that they go elsewhere but he wants to stay. He sits down facing them and Lucia notices Marcelo. Roman then asks her what’s wrong and she tells him that Marcelo is across the room. Roman proposes that they leave but Lucia wants to stay.

Milagros tells Marcelo that that’s the man she saw talking to Lucia when Marcelo was at the hospital. Marcelo looks over at them. Milagros then tells him that she thinks he’s the same one she was hugging in the photo. Lucia then gives Roman a hearty laugh and Milagros comments on how fast Lucia moved on from Marcelo. She then asks him if Marcelo knows him and he explains that he’s a psychiatrist and his name is Roman Andrade. Milagros laughs and tells him that a psychiatrist is just what she needs. Marcelo chides her for laughing and asks that they change the subject.

Nazario meets with Sara for coffee. Sara asks if he has any news about Clarita but he probably would’ve told her if he did. Nazario tells her that he would inform her of anything over the phone so she doesn’t have to make the drive out there. He then asks her if anything is wrong and Sara confesses that she found out some new information about Alonso’s heart attack, namely, that as soon as Rebeca is about to be discovered, someone close to her dies and all her troubles are over. Nazario wants to know who told her this but Sara tells him it doesn’t matter. Nazario tells her that he’s heard that before too though but doesn’t say who told him. He proposes that they find the proof they need to make sure those who hurt them and their loved ones pay. One day he will find out who killed Trini because he’s sure it wasn’t Clarita.

Lalo explains to Clarita that the person he was going to recommend already found someone but she shouldn’t worry because he already found her work with Normita, his job’s secretary. He hands her the address and tells her to find her tomorrow before she goes to work. Clarita thanks him and asks why he’s so nice to her. Lalo tells her it’s nothing but he sees that she hasn’t had an easy life. Clarita tells him that he hasn’t had it easy but she can support everything except her child’s pain. She explains that no one has been able to tell her what he has and Lalo laments that these things happen to good people, especially a young kid like Benito.

Marcelo is chugging down wine with a sourpuss face and Milagros asks if Lucia breaking up with him and going out with Roman has hurt him that much. Marcelo confesses that he broke up with her because, like she’s said billions of times, they only hurt each other. Milagros confesses that she hates seeing him like this but he only needs a change of scenery. She proposes that they go to Mexico when Daniela is better but Marcelo explains that he can’t leave Puebla till the fraud case is cleared up. Milagros tells him everything will be okay and then they see Lucia has left with Roman.

Rebeca is outside her house, thinking about how everything has gone wrong, when Nora finds her. She asks Rebeca if she’s mad because she let Alfredo in but Rebeca tells her she isn’t. Nora tells her that she’s surprised she isn’t because when she tried to talk to her about him she cut her off. Rebeca explains that she didn’t find any reason to talk about someone she met years ago. Nora remembers when she first told her about Alfredo and how she said she didn’t recognize him and comments on the immense coincidence that he’s also Daniela’s father. Rebeca tells her that it’s strange and Nora asks why she’s so mad. Rebeca screams that he doesn’t matter and Nora tells her that she’ll leave her be.

Leti and Sergio are kissing outside her house and they separate long enough for him to confess that he thought she was still hung up on Mario or liked Rodrigo. Leti tells him that she was jealous when he started going out with Gloria but they’re no longer together. She then asks if he still likes Nora and Sergio tells her not to be insecure. She smiles and they kiss as Sara walks in and catches them. She rings the bell outside the door and asks them why they don’t go inside. Sergio tells her that he just came to drop her off and Sara bids them good night and goes inside. Sergio, embarrassed, quickly kisses her goodbye and Leti goes inside, screaming about how happy she is. She immediately hugs Sara and confesses that she finally took the initiative with Sergio. Sara is happy for her but asks her to be careful because they work together and will need to learn how to separate their private and professional lives. Leti tells her that they will be fine.

Magdalena explains to Mario that the doctor’s visit went okay and he is going to rerun every test. Mario tells her that she’s told him a few times and Magdalena asks if he’s okay with her decision. Mario tells her that he’s perfect with it but if, after everything, they can’t conceive, he wants her to know that she’s enough for him. Magdalena tells him that the doctor is sure she can still conceive and Mario agrees but he wants it to be very clear that he loves her with or without children. They kiss.

Lucia gets home and finds Nora waiting for her. Nora asks if she was working and Lucia tells her that she was dining with Roman. Nora tells her that she should go out with him more because he may help her forget Marcelo. Lucia tells her she might and tries to go upstairs. Nora stopped her and asks if she knows Daniela’s father, Alfredo. Lucia tells her that she doesn’t and Nora explains that he turned out to be an acquaintance of Rebeca and he even came to talk to her. She comments on how crazy the situation is and Lucia agrees.

The next morning, Alfredo opens his front door to find Rebeca. She wishes him a good morning and he comments on her punctuality. Once inside, Alfredo asks that she start talking. Rebeca doesn’t know what he wants but confesses that she introduced herself as Adriana because she was always jealous of her sister. She thinks she did it as a way to feel as loved as she did. Alfredo tells her that that sounds demented but Rebeca tells him that she always lived under Adriana’s shadow, even after she died and she married Alonso. Rebeca confesses that Alonso never forgot Adriana and always compared them. Alfredo tells her that it’s strange that Alonso married a pair of sisters and asks why Rebeca didn’t just leave him if she was so unhappy. Rebeca agrees and wonders that her life would’ve been like if she would’ve stayed with Alfredo. She confesses she never forgot him and kisses him…

So… I just noticed that my recaps are coming out a few days before the free version of the episodes are on DramaFever and Viki are. Since everyone seems to be enjoying it. I will continue with my once a day posting since I’m a premium member on DramaFever. I will however suggest that you not read the recap before you watch the episode.

Quick recap. Thanks to Tian Jing Zhi (Wu Qian) getting into a car accident and her blood brings Xue Ling Qiao (Kim Tae Hwan) back from the dead. Li Yan Zhi (Fu Jia) and Ye Chen are looking for the now missing body. Jing Zhi and Lin Qiao start living together even though she tries to get rid of him. She is determined to get him out of her house so she agrees to help him track down his enemy so she can go back living her peaceful life. She gets Ling Qiao a job as a taekwondo teacher so that he can make some money, and he got cast in her drama to play the main villain. Zhang Xuan Xuan (Shen Meng Chen) is suspicious of Ling Qiao and asks Li Yan Zhi (Fu Jia) to look into his background. Meanwhile Ling Qiao, Jing Zhi and Feng Dong Dong (Yang Aro) continue attempting to track down Ling Qiao’s enemy, whom they now have proof is alive. However Yan Zhi and Ye Chen are getting closer and closer to the truth behind the dormant body, while Ling Qiao and Jing Zhi’s relationship gets closer. Mind you the accusation of murder that is facing Ling Qiao  might cause a little rough sailing.

Back to the morning when Jing Zhi wakes up and complains that Ling Qiao didn’t wake her up and he tells her that he wanted some peace and quiet, and she takes offense to it. She starts complaining that he is not squeezing the toothpaste the right way. When he doesn’t answer she goes looking for him to find that he has disappeared. She goes back to bed and complains that Ling Qiao is being too loud. He doesn’t believe her so her asks her what the female lead in the show said, however the TV is on so quietly that she can’t hear anything. He cuts her some fruit but at first she complains that it is too big and then it’s too small. Ling Qiao gives up and gives her yogurt and asks her when she’s going to stop nitpicking. She tells him that woman are very picky and if the woman he is interested in was already been married she’ll be even more so.  Ling Qiao tells her again that there is nothing going on between him and the mother from the dojang.

She probes about the murderer and he says that there are no new clues, and when she asks if she can help he tells her he doesn’t want her involved. Since she is still angry she tells him that he wants to help him so she can get rid of him quicker. He tells her that there is one thing that she can do, but it must be very subtle about it.

Chen arrives at the cafe and can’t find Jing Zhi, so he calls her and she tell him where she is. Chen asks her why she wants to meet and she tells him it’s to tease him, and she shows him the picture of him and Xuan Xuan that has been circulating. Chen really doesn’t care about the photo, and tells her the marriage was a business ploy anyways. Jing Zhi tells him that both of the company’s stock have plummeted since the picture was leaked. Chen simply says that it is the side effect of beneficial marriages, they are not always reliable. Jing Zhi asks if he really likes Xuan Xuan, and he admits he likes her a little. He asks he really tried to pursue Xuan Xuan if Jing Zhi would stop him. Jing Zhi tells him that he can’t because she and Xuan Xuan made a promise to not like each other’s boyfriends or ex-boyfriends. He tells her that they never even kissed so how can that even be considered dating. He asked how long they have been close and Jing Zhi admits that it’s been since she was 2 years old.

Jing Zhi asks Chen about the dormant body, which he confirms hasn’t be found. She offhandedly asks if he even thought that maybe the dormant body has come back to life. He asks why she thinks that, and Jing Zhi tells Chen about how there wasn’t a HD version of the video and the web company came to her production team to film something that they could use. She motions him closer and mentions, that if her production company had nothing to do with the original video, what was in it.

Chen goes back to lab and reviews the video against the picture he has of the dormant body. He calls Yan Zhi and tells him that he will need his help the next day. Chen meets with Yan Zhi and Yan Zhi starts off by asking him that if he really thinks that the monster in the video is the same monster that he is looking for. He tells him that he won’t know unless they take a look into it. Chen tells Yan Zhi not to talk while they talk with the manager at the web company. Though Manager Feng didn’t want to admit it, Chen subtly threatened him and he gives them all of the information that he has on the photographer and the buyer. Since there really isn’t any information about the photographer they decide to meet with Detective Zhang, though Chen tells Yan Zhi that he will remain quite while they meet with the Detective. While Chen reads the photographer’s screen ID he laughs. Yan Zhi asks him what’s so funny, and Chen tells him that the screen id is Chef Bodyguard and Xuan Xuan’s fans are called bodyguards.

Jing Zhi calls Ling Qiao and calls him Chef Bodyguard, and she holds up her phone so he can hear all of the paparazzis asking questions to Xuan Xuan about her relationship with Chen. Dong Dong tells them they have the wrong van and this is Jing Zhi’s car not Xuan Xuan’s. Jing Zhi tells Ling Qiao that his angel is stuck now that she has a new sweetheart. Ling Qiao tells her the it’s not Xuan Xuan who is stuck it’s her and he has eyes on her new sweetheart and can take him at any time. Jing Zhi reminds him not to get any blood on his clothes because it’s hard to get it out of clothes.

Some reporters are staking out the Hong Shi corporation and Shi Guang’s assistant tells him that if he doesn’t make a statement that it is likely that the reports will stay there indefinitely. Shi Guang tells her to go get one reporter, one that they normally deal with for charity events. When they are set up that all the fake rumors are making it harder for them to have a normal relationship. He assures her that Chen is just Xuan Xuan’s friend and they were going to only announce their marriage on Xuan Xuan’s birthday, however there has been a date set for the end of the year, and Chen will be at their wedding.

Chen and Yan Zhi meets Detective Zhang and he confirms that he did have a client who paid him to get the photographer’s information. He admits that he did find it a little odd that they were interested in such a simple video. He gave him the seller’s information and what transpired after that he doesn’t know. When Yang Zhi asks for the buyer’s information Detective Zhang declines telling him that he would not be able to provide him with that, due to the confidentiality clause. Since they can’t do anything else they leave.

Dong Dong finally gets all of the reporters away and tells Jing Zhi that they are crazy and they started asking him about his thoughts about Xuan Xuan. He tells her that since she didn’t come into work that day that the scenes that they were going to shoot have to be postponed. Jing Zhi perks up and ask if that means they can go home, and when he confirms she gets super happy. Dong Dong asks if it’s because she can see Ling Qiao quicker and she tells him that he’s is out today but maybe they’ll celebrate when he gets back.

Ling Qiao goes to talk with Detective Zhang, how ever he is on his way out. When he tells him he can come back tomorrow Ling Qiao places a hand on his shoulder, and tells them they’re talking. He sits in Detective Zhang’s chair and motions him to sit across from him. Detective Zhang ask if he is with the police, which Ling Qiao confirms that he is the seller of the video and he wants the buyer’s information. Detective Zhang tells Ling Qiao exactly what he told the police and refuses to give him any information. Ling Qiao gets mad and hits the desk breaking it, he apologizes and tries to bribe the Detective which doesn’t work and Detective Zhang leaves.

When Ling Qiao arrives home Jing Zhi asks how it went and Ling Qiao shakes his head. Jing Zhi tells him not to worry, there will be other ways and he still has her. She pats his shoulder trying to make him feel better and tells him that she believes in him. Ling Qiao mentions that she really wants to get rid of him and when he’s in his room Jing Zhi whispers that she doesn’t and looks sad.

Xuan Xuan finds out about the wedding announcement and becomes furious and storms into Shi Guang’s office. When she arrives his assistant tries to stop her since he is in a meeting, however she goes in anyways and tells him they need to talk. Shi Guang apologizes to the man and after he leave he brings Xuan Xuan a cup of coffee. Xuan Xuan starts tearing into him about the wedding announcement and how dare he make that decision without consulting her. Shi Guang reminds her that they’re agreement was that neither of them were to date while they were engaged. Xuan Xuan stresses that she and Chen are only friends and she is not dating him. She tells him that he should respect her, and Shi Guang kinda flips out on her telling her that respect is mutual and he tells her that she should stop treating him like a lesser person because he isn’t on, but he can compromise. Xuan Xuan asks if he has a plan one how to get out of this and he tells her that he is planning on throwing a charity even to take eyes off of their relationship

Ling Qiao follows Detective Zhang in a taxi, which of course he notices. Detective Zhang tells Ling Qiao that he will not lead him to his client. Ling Qiao tells him to go back to his client and tell him that he has a lot of time on his hands, which he is sure that he doesn’t Detective Zhang is about to leave and asks Ling Qiao if he wants a lift because it’s hard to get a taxi from where they are, and he refuses.

That evening Ling Qiao and Jing Zhi are sitting on the porche. Jing Zhi asks if Ling Qiao had escorted the mother and child home that evening, and Ling Qiao tells her that he escorts them home every evening. Jing Zhi gets jealous and tells him that he should be spending more time finding his enemy so he can leave the house. Chen calls and asks to meet up with Jing Zhi and she acts super sweet to try and get Ling Qiao jealous, which fails. He laughs and tells her that humans have 2 emotions that are similar, love and the desire to possess. He reminds her that when he first came to her house she told him everything in her house was hers and shouldn’t be touched. He reminds her that she is not one of her possessions.

Shi Guang plans the charity event and makes sure his assistant gets a copy of it to Xuan Xuan.

Chen and Jing Zhi meet up at the lab. When Chen asks if wedding news was really, Jing Zhi tells him it’s fake but Xuan Xuan is probably freaking out when she found out. Chen gives Jing Zhi coffee and she seems to like it until he mentions that it’s cat poop coffee and she freaks out and runs to the bathroom. When she comes out Professor Li is waiting for her, he tells her he knows that the monster saved her, and she pretends to be confused. He tells her he knows how to kill him. Jing Zhi pretends to know nothing and tells him that Chen had told her that he had taken the divorce hard and maybe he should take more time off. He agrees that she probably doesn’t know anything and is naive to the situation.

Jing Zhi is in the store with Ling Qiao and she tells him about the encounter with Professor Li and how she acting dumb and wasn’t going to give him any information. Ling Qiao gets angry at her and reminds her that she promised not to be alone with him. She tries to say that she wasn’t really alone and Ling Qiao tells her if there is no 3rd party she is alone. She tells him it’s not her fault and starts throwing things at him and leaves in a huff.

Jing Zhi goes over to Xuan Xuan’s house and cries. Xuan Xuan tells her that it’s time for afternoon tea and suggests that she has some before leaving. Xuan Xuan tells her that he life is a mess and she’s crying over a lovers spat. She tells her to go home do something cute and it will all be forgiven. Jing Zhi asks Xuan Xuan if she would have a relationship with Chen and Xuan Xuan reminds her of their agreement. Jing Zhi tells her that if she really liked him she wouldn’t care, but Xuan Xuan would. Jing Zhi asks her about what she was going to do about the wedding.

TUESDAY ON DEFENDANT - EPISODE 6 ON JOY PRIME @ 8: AM

Three days after the Wolha-dong murder. Jung-woo rides in a van with Joon-hyuk, who tells him their superiors don’t know about this, and he can’t protect him from any consequences. Jung-woo nods.

Joon-hyuk arrives to find Mother Oh at Ji-soo’s funeral, and Jung-woo follows him in, wearing a baseball cap. When she sees him, she says, “You didn’t do it, right?” But he only apologizes, and she begins to cry, leaning on Joon-hyuk for support. Jung-woo stands before the memorial, tears in his eyes, and tells Ji-soo, “It was painful, wasn’t it? I’m sorry. This is all my fault. I’m going to find our Ha-yeon.”

He goes back to his distraught mother-in-law and takes her hand, pressing it meaningfully. He apologizes again, and she stops crying as the two men turn to leave. On their way out, they run into Tae-soo, who loses it as he threatens to kill him and tells him to get lost. Mother Oh opens her hand and unfolds the note left there by Jung-woo, and we hear in his voice, “Mother, please make sure you don’t clean the house.”

In the present, Joon-hyuk arrives at the scene where Tae-soo discovered the suitcase, but the case is empty, and Tae-soo is gone. Tae-soo barges into Jung-woo’s cell and drags him up by the collar, reminding him that he’d said he would kill him if he lied. He asks again where Ha-yeon is, saying she’s not in the bag. Jung-woo is confused and asks why there was a bag in the place he told Tae-soo about. Tae-soo keeps demanding an answer as the other guards drag him out.

Eun-hye stands outside Investigator Go’s hospital room—and fortunately he’s alive, though unconscious. She wonders what he’d wanted to tell her—surely something about Jung-woo’s case. Her friend from the prosecutor’s office, Prosecutor YEO MIN-KYUNG, joins her and says they haven’t been able to find any leads on the hit-and-run perpetrator. Min-kyung asks if Eun-hye knows why Investigator Go went to the NFS, but Eun-hye says they never had a chance to speak.

Min-kyung shares that the doctor said Investigator Go may not wake up. Eun-hye asks her friend to look into it more; she has a feeling this wasn’t an accident. On her way out, she sees a news report about the discovery of the empty suitcase that had been suspected to be holding Ha-yeon’s body.

Min-ho reads the same news report and wonders how “they” could take care of things in such an incompetent way, looking angry.

Jung-woo is awake in his cell that night, pondering over the new information too. He figures that since he led Tae-soo to that location, he must have buried the suitcase there. But then, where is Ha-yeon? He thinks back to the 16k clue again, trying to put it together.

Tae-soo unlocks the cell door. “Think carefully,” he tells Jung-woo. “Did you really kill Ha-yeon? The suitcase was empty. Doesn’t that mean she’s alive?” Jung-woo avoids his eyes, and Tae-soo drops to his knees. “As long as Ha-yeon is alive, I’ll forgive you. Please, just return Ha-yeon to us,” he says tearfully, grabbing Jung-woo’s leg. “Where is Ha-yeon?” Jung-woo reaches out to touch him, but clenches his hand instead, tears in his eyes.

Min-ho meets his black clad minion, SEOK, next to a burning garbage can in an abandoned lot. Seok hands him the NFS file, and Min-ho verifies it and throws it in the fire. Seok asks what he should do about “the woman lawyer,” and Min-ho says he’ll look into it. But, he says, he watched the news and there seems to be a problem. Seok apologizes, though he doesn’t seem to know what Min-ho is talking about.

Min-ho says that he worked so hard to get this far, so how could Seok take care of this so poorly? He takes out a burning timber from the drum and hits Seok with it repeatedly, asking why everyone keeps making him into a bad guy. Min-ho tells Seok to find the evidence, then makes a call to the deputy chief in the prosecutor’s office.

The deputy chief sits in his office with Prosecutor Choi and Joon-hyuk, asking if Joon-hyuk is going to continue in the same way after the case has blown up in the media. Joon-hyuk says the trial will go on as planned, but Prosecutor Choi angrily points out that the suitcase was empty, and now there’s Investigator Go’s accident too. He asks him to honestly tell him if he’s sure Jung-woo’s guilty. Joon-hyuk says he’s sure, though he avoids his superior’s gaze.

Prosecutor Choi says that if there’s a one percent chance that Jung-woo is innocent, he’ll take responsibility and re-investigate this case from the beginning. The deputy chief explodes at this, but Joon-hyuk looks straight at Prosecutor Choi and says there is no chance.

Eun-hye asks Joon-hyuk to do a DNA test on the suitcase, and wonders if he will change the charges regarding Ha-yeon if nothing is found. He says no, that the case record is clear. She tells him to let her know when the results are out and gets up to go, but he tells her to pass on to Jung-woo that nothing will change. She asks if he’s not just refusing to admit he made a mistake, but Joon-hyuk says this is a case they can’t win.

Eun-hye goes to visit Jung-woo and points out that he must have left the evidence of the empty suitcase on purpose, as it has raised the question of whether he might be innocent of Ha-yeon’s murder. She shows Jung-woo the surveillance video of him putting the suitcase in his car, the bag obviously too light to contain Ha-yeon’s body—which means they can still find her.

Eun-hye shows him the note he gave his mother-in-law, before he lost his memory for the first time. Jung-woo tells her he must go home and see for himself why he asked Mother Oh not to clean. When he tells her to contact Investigator Go about it, she shares the news of his accident and asks Jung-woo if he remembers the young man’s frequent visits, but he draws a blank. Jung-woo asks her to contact Prosecutor Choi instead.

The deputy chief prosecutor meets Min-ho for dinner and assures him that Eun-hye knows nothing, as the accident happened as soon as she picked up the phone. (Okay, it’s suspicious that he knows that in such detail.)

Joon-hyuk joins them, and the deputy chief introduces the two men, telling Joon-hyuk that the Chamyung Group president recommended him for the UN position. When Joon-hyuk asks why, Min-ho simply compliments his talent. He asks about Jung-woo’s upcoming appeal, and the deputy chief assures Min-ho there’s nothing to worry about.

As he’s leaving, Joon-hyuk’s mother calls, saying his father has gotten into a drunken fistfight again, so she asks him to call the police station on his behalf, and for around five thousand dollars in settlement money.

Eun-hye goes and relays her client’s request to Prosecutor Choi, who seems genuinely concerned about Jung-woo. Prosecutor Choi goes to Joon-hyuk’s office and asks why he didn’t tell him that he did the on-site investigation with a stand-in, and asks how he could still be so convinced of Jung-woo’s guilt. He says Jung-woo’s lawyer wants to lodge an official complaint, but that he’s held her off by promising to let Jung-woo see the crime scene.

Jung-woo arrives at the prosecutor’s office, and Joon-hyuk tells him that they have to do this quickly and quietly. Prosecutor Choi comes into the room and emotionally hugs Jung-woo, apologizing for not looking into the case more carefully. He wishes him luck and tells him he hopes he’ll remember something.

Eun-hye meets them at the apartment building, and Jung-woo enters his old home, imagining his family welcoming him back. Dream Ha-yeon runs to him, and he embraces her, crying, as she disappears before his eyes. Joon-hyuk warns that they don’t have time (jerk), and Jung-woo goes to Ha-yeon’s room, only to break down completely. When he comes back to the living room, he composes himself, and a memory comes back to him of the morning after the murder.

He was wearing a jacket over his pajamas, clutching Ji-soo’s body and sobbing over it when a security guard saw them and ran off in alarm. “What should I do now?” he asked aloud, before lowering her gently to the floor. He saw a camcorder on the floor, put in a tape and watched it, the screen visible only to him, until the police came in and arrested him.

In the present, Jung-woo looks frantically around the coffee table, but is unable to find anything. Joon-hyuk rushes him out, but Eun-hye stops Jung-woo before he leaves and asks if he remembered anything. When he gives her a tiny nod, she says she’ll visit him tomorrow. (I really wish people would stop sharing all this information with Joon-hyuk.)

Back at the prosecution’s interrogation room, Jung-woo remembers taking the memory card out of the camcorder, and that he definitely hid it somewhere. A shadowy figure watches through the observation window as the deputy chief comes in, saying he’s been worried about Jung-woo. He asks carefully if Jung-woo remembered anything when he went to see the crime scene, but Jung-woo says no; he simply wanted to go home.

The deputy chief tells him about Investigator Go’s accident and asks him if he knows why the man was at the NFS, but Jung-woo pretends this is news to him. Jung-woo asks who’s in charge of the case, and the deputy chief tells him it’s Prosecutor Yeo Min-kyung (Eun-hye’s friend).

Jung-woo wonders why the deputy chief is here, and asks for a glass of water. When the older man steps out, Jung-woo notices that the microphone on the table is on, and narrows his eyes at the one-way mirror, wondering who is watching him. Unseen, Min-ho stares back at him.

As he passes the observation room on his way out, Jung-woo breaks away from his guards and bursts through the door, but the room is empty. When he’s on his way down in the elevator, however, it stops and its doors open to reveal Min-ho, who joins them.

Min-ho flashes back to meeting the same doctor who diagnosed Jung-woo’s memory loss; she tells him that if someone lost their memory because they don’t want to remember it, it would be strange to remember the person who caused that memory loss. Min-ho asks if he can regain that memory, and she says the greater the shock, the smaller the possibility. She asks if she should prescribe something to help him relax, but he says that if it’s a memory he didn’t want, it’s probably best left forgotten.

Sung-kyu practices his case argument in front of his admiring cellmates when Jung-woo returns. They tell Jung-woo the young man has been practicing the way the prosecutor taught him, and they wish them both success in their trials.

Min-ho enters his office to find Yeon-hee in his secret room, calmly waiting for him. She remarks on the change in what was Sun-ho’s refuge, and he drags her out angrily. She tells him not to worry, since she doesn’t want him to get caught either. He asks how long she’s going to do this, and she replies, “Until my son inherits Chamyung.”

He hugs her and says that Min-ho, Yeon-hee, and Eun-soo have all returned to their proper places now, but she calls him crazy. “And you? You think you aren’t?” he asks her. She breaks from his hold and stalks out. Min-ho sighs and wonders how much more time she needs.

Jung-woo and Chul-shik are back on the roof for their punishment, and the gangster starts to ask for his next favor when Jung-woo reaches over and takes a piece of paper from his uniform pocket. It has the first two words on it, doorbell and 16k, and a third: Nemo. Chul-shik finally notices, and mutters, “I’m ruined.” Ha.

Jung-woo remembers feeding their clownfish with Ha-yeon, and says to himself, “That was the place.” At that moment, Eun-hye arrives to visit him, and he tells her he’s remembered why he said not to clean the house—he dropped the memory card in their fish tank. She rushes to his home and finds the card right where Jung-woo predicted it would be.

It’s trial day for both Jung-woo and Sung-kyu, and Gangster Hyung pulls out a block of tofu, telling them both to do well at their trials so that they don’t have to come back here. He gets emotional as they each take a bite, and the others rib him for it, except Mil-yang, who smiles encouragingly at Jung-woo.

Eun-hye gives herself a pep talk in the mirror as she gets ready, telling herself that even if she loses all her other cases, she has to win this one. She meets Jung-woo at the courthouse and shows him the results from the NFS’s analysis of the suitcase, which contained no trace of Ha-yeon’s DNA. She also shows him the memory card she found, and tells him to plead his own case. Jung-woo says he can’t do it, because if he’s the culprit, he wouldn’t be able to forgive himself for arguing that he was innocent.

Sung-kyu’s trial begins, and he tells the judge he’ll be arguing his case himself, referring to his notes. He impresses the prosecution with his opening argument, and thinks back to Jung-woo telling him that the law isn’t difficult, not the way protecting your family is, and Sung-kyu has done well at the latter. Sung-kyu looks moved at the memory.

In a different courtroom, Joon-hyuk approaches Eun-hye and wishes her luck, which he says is what he does when he knows he’ll win. She says they’ll have to wait and see. Tae-soo brings Jung-woo in, and the trial begins with the judge asking why the defendant is appealing.

Eun-hye rises and says that Jung-woo pleads innocence; the prosecution’s case rests on speculation, as the suitcase said to have contained Ha-yeon’s body was both empty and free of her DNA. Joon-hyuk argues that she could easily have been wrapped in something first, and that there’s no other explanation for where Ha-yeon went, but Eun-hye replies that this too is speculation with no evidence to back it up.

At Sung-kyu’s trial, the prosecution accuses him of assaulting a police officer who stopped him when he was fleeing the accident, but Sung-kyu says he simply pushed the man. When the officer is called to the witness stand, he says there was a physical fight; Sung-kyu replies that he was never read his Miranda rights, which the officer confirms. In the face of the prosecutor’s increasing irritation, Sung-kyu declares that since he wasn’t Mirandized, he was resisting unlawful arrest, and thus, it was self-defense.

Meanwhile, at Jung-woo’s trial, the judge says they’ll skip the evidence from the original trial and asks if they have new evidence, and both Joon-hyuk and Eun-hye say they do. Eun-hye submits hers first—it’s footage from the scene of the crime, and Joon-hyuk looks nervous.

Eun-hye says it seems Ji-soo pressed the record button herself right before she died, and hits play. On the TV, we see a bloodied Ji-soo lying on the floor, looking into the camera. She turns her head as a black-clad leg and foot crosses the frame. Eun-hye says that since the memory card was in water for a long time the audio was lost, but points out that a husband who killed his wife at home after a quarrel wouldn’t be wearing shoes; nor were the prints of these shoes found on the floor. When police arrived, Jung-woo hadn’t run away but was crying and holding his dead wife—could he really have obliterated his footprints? She says the real culprit is not the defendant, but the owner of those shoes.

Joon-hyuk says that’s possible, but then why didn’t the defendant bring up this advantageous evidence when he was arrested? He says he couldn’t, because it was Jung-woo himself in the video.

He shows an interrogation video of Jung-woo before his memory loss, where he confessed to killing Ji-soo and Ha-yeon. Joon-hyuk asked if it was true, and why he did it; Jung-woo said that he doubted Ji-soo. He said that he put Ha-yeon into a suitcase and buried her, though it was night, so he didn’t remember exactly where. The audience gasps in horror and sadness.

Joon-hyuk asks Jung-woo who the owner of the shoes in the video is. Jung-woo asks, “Are you saying it was me?” Eun-hye rises in objection. The judges asks Joon-hyuk why he didn’t reveal this footage at the first trial, and he replies that the prosecution didn’t believe that Jung-woo actually lost his memory, and so they didn’t reveal his confession because it might lessen Jung-woo’s sentence. He says he’s decided to reveal it now since Jung-woo continues to deny the charges.

Tears running down his face, Jung-woo says, “It was me. It was me.” The judge sentences him to death.

Sung-kyu and Jung-woo return to their cell, and the other prisoners begin to sing their congratulations when Sung-kyu stops them, nodding at Jung-woo. “It was me,” Jung-woo repeats numbly. “I was mistaken.” He thinks back to all the clues he’d thought might prove his innocence. Sung-kyu tells the others he’s not sure what happened; his own sentencing is tomorrow, and if he’s found not guilty, he’ll be set free.

That night, Jung-woo fingers pieces of a plastic bag while the others sleep. Oh no, I have a bad feeling about this.

Min-ho sits in his living room watching the coverage of the appeal, smirking in satisfaction, when Seok calls to tell him he’s found “that kid.” The person committed a crime and ended up in jail; Min-ho asks which prison.

In his cell, Jung-woo shapes the plastic into a noose and ties it to a bar high on the wall. He whispers, “I killed Ji-soo and Ha-yeon. I did it. Me.” As he steps up to the noose, Sung-kyu’s voice suddenly comes from the darkness. “Why would you die, Hyung? You didn’t do it.” Jung-woo turns to see the young man watching him from across the room.

“It was me,” says Sung-kyu.

“What?” asks Jung-woo. Sung-kyu repeats that it was him, then begins to ominously sing Ha-yeon’s favorite song. Jung-woo walks toward him slowly, then grabs Sung-kyu and demands to know, “Who are you?”
