Milagros confesses to Father Samuel that she hasn’t been a good mother to her oldest son because she deprived him of a father at a young age. Father Samuel asks her why she says this and is received by silence. He looks and sets out of confession to find Milagros gone.

Leti tells Lucia about her trouble with Sergio. She doesn’t think it’s going to work out because first Gloria and now Nora are after him. Lucia asks Leti if she’s sure it was Nora who called and Leti confirms that it was because she called her back. Lucia tells her that just because she called Sergio doesn’t mean she wants to get back with him but Leti reminds her that Nora doesn’t respect any boundaries. Lucia confirms that this is true but Nora is still obsessed with Marcelo. Thankfully, he’s leaving soon. Leti then asks about Roman and while Lucia confirms that she doesn’t love him yet, she will eventually forget Marcelo and love Roman like it happened with Rodrigo. Leti reminds her that Rodrigo gave her a motive to hate him, when Marcelo didn’t, so it’ll be harder. Lucia asks her to drop this conversation but asks that she please give Sergio another chance.

Mario, with a long face, goes to visit Father Samuel. Mario asks him for some time to talk and Father Samuel obliges.

In the hospital, Sara tells Magdalena about her disastrous visit with Mario in the morning. Magdalena thanks her but remains offended at Mario’s lack of trust. She’s also scared that Mario doesn’t want to be with her anymore but Sara shakes away the thought. Magdalena reminds her that when it comes to Ricardo Marquez, Mario doesn’t understand any reasoning. Either way, they both hope that this is behind them soon and thanks Sara for her friendship and sisterhood, especially because the only sister she has left doesn’t get along with her. Sara thanks her as well and gives her permission to tell Mario the truth about her and Nazario’s theory. Magdalena thanks her.

Father Samuel chides Mario for his own insecurities as Magdalena has given him no reason to doubt her. Mario explains that it’s not his insecurity because Magdalena saw Ricardo without telling him at night in a park. Father Samuel reminds him that Magdalena doesn’t have to tell him everything about her life and then asks if he loves Magdalena. While Mario initially hesitates, he confirms that he loves her and doesn’t want to lose her. He’s just angry and hurt because Magdalena kept this from him. Either way he feels like crap about their fight.

Rafaela finds Milagros in her room, looking at Federico’s photo and ashes. Rafaela asks what took her so long and Milagros tells her that she went to confession but it didn’t take away her sadness though she feels calmer. Rafaela tells her that it’s a start and then confirms that the movers are coming tomorrow so they had better get a move on. Milagros, however, does not want to leave Puebla because Marcelo will find Aida easier in Mexico City. Rafaela reminds her that what needs to happen will happen.

Marcelo is conversing with Alfredo’s PI about Empresa del Centro. He asks him to find all the information he can about the company and its legal representative, Heriberto. He then asks the PI to also find all the information he can about Aida Lugo. He describes her as elegant, pretty and about 55 years old, living in Mexico City. The PI warns him that it may take a while since his description isn’t helpful but Marcelo asks that he continue.
Lucia gets home and confronts Nora about her interest in Sergio. Nora explains that he found out about her accident and called her to find out what happened. They had a good time when they were together and she has fond memories of him. Either way, she had no idea Leti would go ballistic. Lucia explains that Leti and Sergio are in a relationship and she would prefer that she keep her distance and stop doing good things that look bad. Nora laughs and tells her to stop gives her sermons like her mother. Lucia tells her that Rebeca has no moral authority to give anyone a sermon. Nora asks Lucia if she hates Rebeca but Lucia confirms that she just hates what she does; Lucia just hopes that Nora never finds out how she truthy is because she may end up forgetting she’s her mother. Lucia caresses her cheek and leaves her.

Rebeca is in her room when her phone rings. It’s Alfredo who invites her to dinner because Daniela is back at the apartment. Rebeca doesn’t accept because people might see them and then the rumors would start since she’s recently widowed. Alfredo explains that they’re old friends and no one would be the wiser. Rebeca accepts as she doesn’t have Tere on Saturday afternoon and they make a date to meet late. When Alfredo hangs up, he goes to attend Daniela who keeps calling for him.

Benito is begging Clarita to let him go out with Tere and Lalo as he already promised he would. Clarita is wary of letting him go because he may feel bad but Benito tells her that Lalo can take him back if anything and he really wants to meet Lalo’s girlfriend. Clarita is shocked and slightly bothered at the girlfriend news. Just then, Lalo comes to pick Benito up and asks Clarita for permission. Clarita accepts and gives them her cellphone number so they can call her if anything. She begs them not to come late and Benito kisses her goodbye.

Magdalena is leaving the hospital when she runs into Mario in the hallway. Mario confirms that he came to pick her up because he loves her and, regardless of anything, he wants them to be okay. Magdalena confirms that she loves him as well but he didn’t even give her a chance to explain what happened. Mario asks her to only confirm that Ricardo Marquez is no longer important to her and Magdalena confirms this is so. They kiss and finally go home together.

Marcelo helps Daniela into her new wheelchair and she chides him for taking so long to come back with it even though he left in the morning. Marcelo tells her that he was busy with the movers and such. Daniela tells him that she’s happy they’re back together and asks him to stay the night but Marcelo tells her that Alfredo would not be too happy to hear about them sleeping together. Daniela explains that he’s probably tired and would appreciate the help and Marcelo agrees that he might. Marcelo then asks Daniela to please try to stand up but she gets angry and asks that he please not pressure her. Marcelo backs off and Daniela thanks him again for being with her. Daniela kisses him as Alfredo walks in and asks Marcelo to stay with Daniela for a couple of hours as he gets something to eat. Marcelo agrees and Alfredo goes outside to text Rebeca that they can meet.

In her room, Rebeca looks at herself in the mirror, confirms she looks good af and goes downstairs. She checks her hair and makeup again in the living room as Nora watches from a dark study.

At a fair, Benito tells Lalo and Tere that Ferris Wheel is huge. Lalo confirms that it’s 180 ft. and Benito asks if he can ride it. Lalo tells him he can but he will ride with him. Tere is going to stay behind because she’s scared of heights. They ask her to take care of their popcorn but Tere doesn’t know how long they’ll last in her possession. They laugh and go off to ride the Ferris Wheel. When they’re done, Tere welcomes them with open arms on the ground.

Roman tells Lucia that Nora went to her session with him as promised. Lucia is happy and asks him how it went. Roman tells her he can’t share what happened because it’d be unethical and then worries how their relationship will affect his sessions with Nora. Lucia tells him that he can’t leave Nora because she will probably have a hard time trusting someone else to be her therapist; either way their relationship won’t get in the way. Roman asks her if she enjoys their relationship and is happy with him and Lucia confirms that she is. He is the calm eye of the storm and while it would be easier if she left, her father constructed the house for her mother and she can’t just leave. Roman then proposes that they take a weekend trip to disconnect and Lucia accepts. She asks where they will go and Roman tells her that it’s her choice. Lucia hesitates and Roman tells her that she can think about it so she’s not pressured into anything. They kiss.

Rebeca meets Alfredo at a restaurant with a kiss on the cheek. She asks about Daniela and Alfredo confirms that he left her with Marcelo since it appears that they’re back to together. He then pours her a glass of wine and they drink to her beauty. Just then Nora arrives and demands to know why Rebeca is meeting Alfredo Suarez behind her back. Rebeca asks her to calm down and sit down. Nora screams that Rebeca first told her she didn’t know Alfredo and now she’s cozily dining with him. Rebeca grabs Nora and pulls her out of the restaurant but Nora confirms that she spoke with Brigida, who told her she never went out with her. She then tells Rebeca that the only reason she lied is because she knows that she’s doing something wrong but Rebeca counters that she only lied because she knew Nora would blow a gasket. Rebeca tells her that her lying doesn’t excuse her behavior and confirms that she knew Alfredo and they were only having dinner because he’s leaving town. Nora screams that she’s tired of her lying and confirms Lucia’s suspicions that Rebeca doesn’t have the moral authority to give anyone a sermon. She storms off and leaves Rebeca shocked.

Daniela and Marcelo as having the most (un)exciting date. She’s lying in bed and he’s off in a corner of the couch, reading. Daniela explains that she’s been bored all day and proposes that he read to her. Marcelo gets on the bed next to her and she beckons him to come closer and he does. She then rips the book out of his hands and kisses him. Marcelo stops short and Daniela tells him that he promised to be with her. Marcelo explains that she’s still recovering and they need to be careful. Daniela backs off and then Marcelo notices the time. He wonders why Alfredo is not back yet from getting dinner. He then goes to get Daniela something to eat and leaves her hot and bothered.

Brigida stops by Sergio’s apartment with fresh business attire for Rodrigo’s job at the factory. Rodrigo tells her that he has plenty of clothes he can wear and Brigida asks that he please let her give him these clothes. He finally accepts and Brigida asks if he really likes living with Sergio, especially when he brings Nora over. Rodrigo stops short and Brigida explains that she spoke to Nora the other day and she’s really interested in Sergio and Sergio would be a fool to let her go. Brigida wonders what Nora sees in Sergio anyway and Rodrigo asks her to be quiet since Sergio is upstairs and has done more for him than Amador ever did. Brigida reminds him that Amador got him his job back and Rodrigo cautions her to be careful because Amador is having problems in the factory again and he may be in a bad mood.

Nazario goes to visit Normita and they sit down for coffee. He apologizes for coming so late but he wanted to forewarn her that today all the workers had gone on strike because of him and tomorrow they wouldn’t be showing up for work. Normita thanks him for letting her know and tells him that she’s surprised he came all this way just to tell her. Nazario explains that he also wanted to make it clear that he had fun the other night. Normita brightens at this and Nazario tells her that he’s been distant lately but he enjoys her company as well. Normita thanks him and then Nazario asks if she has anymore dessert from the other night and Normita confirms she does and goes to get him a piece with a cup of tea.

Rebeca gets home, screaming for Nora, when Lucia goes outside her room and asks her what happened with Nora. Rebeca demands to know what she told Nora because she noticed that she filled her head with stupidity. Lucia screams that she didn’t tell Nora anything and demands to know what she found out. Rebeca explains that Nora saw her dining with Alfredo and Lucia laughs and tells her that if that’s her reaction to an innocent dinner, she can’t imagine her reaction when she finds out that she used to cheat on Alonso with Alfredo and even used Adriana’s name to do so. Rebeca asks why Lucia hasn’t left yet and Lucia confirms that she’s waiting to see her downfall. Rebeca stops short and then smiles and tells her that Marcelo is back with Daniela though she doubts she cares since she’s already found a nice rebound in Roman. She wishes Lucia a good night and leaves.

Alfredo arrives home with a bag of Italian food but Marcelo confirms that he and Daniela already ate. Alfredo apologizes for being so late because of traffic but Marcelo understands and know he probably needed a break. Either way, Daniela barely noticed because she fell asleep. Alfredo thanks for taking care of her and Marcelo tells him that Daniela asked him to stay but he didn’t know what he would think of it. Alfredo tells him that he doesn’t need to, Daniela is just being demanding. Marcelo doesn’t argue.

Benito arrives home with Tere and Lalo and thanks them for the good time. Lalo is happy that they could distract for a few hours and then they make a date to go to the movies later in the week but Tere gets to pick the movie. Benito asks them why Lalo and Tere are so formal and Lalo confirms that it’s because they respect each other. Benito then thanks them again and goes inside. Lalo then asks Tere if it bothers her that they’re so formal and Tere confirms that she doesn’t mind, they respect each other. At least she does because he’s a great human being with a big heart, especially where Benito is concerned. She then gives him a kiss on the cheek and thanks Lalo for introducing Benito to her because he’s a great kid and they had fun. Tere then asks him to take her back home since they got to wake up early but Lalo explains that he doesn’t because he’s on strike and they walk off.

Benito tells Clarita about the good time he had at the fair, on the Ferris Wheel and he didn’t even feel bad. He assumes the trip did him good but Clarita warns him not to abuse his good fortune and then asks him to get ready for bed. She wonders how she will repay Lalo for all his favors.

Ricardo is waiting at a bar when Vinico comes and tells him that he left him hanging regarding their business transaction. Ricardo takes a while to remember and then tells him that he’s not doing too bad working for Amador. Vinicio confirms that it doesn’t but he doesn’t like working at the factory anymore because things have been slowly changing since Alonso’s death. He confirms that even though Amador has Rebeca’s support, the employees don’t listen to him. In fact, they went on strike today because of an order he was forcing them to complete. Ricardo asks him what he’s drinking and Vinicio tells him that he’s drinking the same thing as him. Ricardo smiles, knowingly.

Amador is also having his lonely drink when Brigida comes in and chides him on his drinking habits. He asks if she wants to join him but she refuses and instead asks what he plans to do about the strike. Amador tells her that it will all get sorted out in time but Brigida wants to know if they can count on Rebeca’s support. Amador tells her it’s in Rebeca’s best interest to support him and Brigida tells him that, while she’s happy to have her friendship back, she thinks Rebeca is using her as an alibi. Amador asks her to elaborate and Brigida explains that she was there the night Alonso died and tonight she told Nora they were going out. Brigida and Amador wonder what she’s up to.

The next day, Alfredo is sitting Daniela down on her wheelchair when she complains about his technique and asks why he just didn’t let Marcelo do it. Alfredo tells her that he went home and she should be careful about how much she pressures him because he could get tired of her. Daniela wonders since when he’s so worried about her and Alfredo screams for her to stop because he has his limits too. Daniela tells him that he’s not the one in the wheelchair and Alfredo tells her that her accident wasn’t his fault. Daniela tells him that he did abandon her for years and Alfredo takes in a breath. He waves his white flag and ask that they drop the conversation because they are together for far too long to be fighting all the time. She asks him when they’re returning to Mexico since they’ll have enough space there to ignore each other, especially since Marcelo is leaving today. Alfredo confirms that they’ll leave too once their things are packed.

Lucia is working in her room when Tere walks in and tells her about her date with Lalo and how they went out with a kid who has an illness that no one can diagnose. She confirms his name is Benito and asks if Sara can possibly look at him and run some tests. Lucia tells her she can but she’s not sure if Sara would be able to help as well as a specialist. Tere tells her that this would just be preliminary but then asks how much the tests would cut since his mother is not wealthy. Lucia asks her not to worry but asks that she let her talk to Sara first. Tere agrees, thanks her and leaves.

Clarita knocks on Lalo’s door fiercely and asks for his help as Benito isn’t feeling too good. Lalo tells her that he’ll call a taxi immediately.

Daniela wheels herself into Alfredo’s room and asks him when they’re leaving. Alfredo is nowhere to be found and Daniela notices a manila envelope on his bed. She wheels herself over, grabs the envelope and opens it. Inside she finds the security camera photos the PI gave Alfredo regarding Federico’s and Rebeca’s secret rendezvous. Alfredo comes back in and Daniela demands to know why he has photos of Marcelo’s brother and Lucia’s aunt. Alfredo demands she give them back but Daniela has already had her light bulb moment: Rebeca Murillo is the woman Federico committed suicide over. She tells Alfredo that she’s going to love telling Milagros the truth…

FRIDAY ON TIMELESS LOVE - EPISODE 115

..because the mother and child reunion is way more than a motion away. Months in fact.

Last night Marta noted that several men were keeping secrets while the women were paying the consequences. Let’s see who is keeping secrets tonight, shall we?

As Coni lies in bed playing The Brain That Couldn’t Speak, Gina erroneously surmises that Berta is her own daughter. In the house Eulalia the maid, not properly trained in first aid or common sense, takes the time to run to Coni’s house to report to the paralyzed and mute Constanza that Berta is having a heart attack. Luckily, since Renata and Regina are there, they follow the maid to Roberta.

Luciana, the bank manager who knows everyone’s secrets, helps Fina open a private account in her name only, Josephina Alvarez. Luciana is bug-eyed impactada to note that Fina’s big ol’ bag of money is the very same one that Regina withdrew that morning.

At Empresas Monterrubio, Mopías tells Hons he wants to move out. Hons reveals that Adri told him what was up between them. They agree that a Mopías apartment is probably best for everyone. I’m sure Adri would love a mope-free environment for a change.

Cut to Adri mooning and sighing over her laptop. She calls Chema to say they need to talk. He suggests she come to his place for a cappuccino, chai, yummy empanadas, whatever. Because of his headaches he doesn’t want to drive anywhere. She’s concerned about his headaches but he says don’t worry, he’s taking some medicine and he looks forward to seeing her.

Regina, Nata and useless maid arrive just as Roberta wakes up clutching her chest. Nata sends the maid off to get Berta’s heart pills. Gina is all concerned about her ‘daughter’ and Berta looks at her sideways wondering how to play this.

Back at EM Gonzo tells Hons he’s worried about Regina. She spent all afternoon in the church and told him she wants to be alone. He found out Pepa contacted Gina and she didn’t even let him know. They agree that this Pepa is very dangerous. Hons suggests maybe Regina wants to protect Gonzo. Gonzo is afraid Pepa might be setting a trap (tendiendo una trampa). Gosh Gonzo, ya think?

Oh my goodness, Adri shows up at Chema’s and he’s got a sideboard loaded with pastries. Dang I’m hungry. There is a bottle of wine on the table but all she wants is a capucchino.
He acts like a goofball but she remains pensive, thinking about the pie cart she’s about to push over his heart. OK let’s step back for a minute here. On one hand there is Mr. Sulk in Shiny Silver suits. On the other there is the upbeat cook who excels at kissing and making delectable treats. Whom to choose, whom to choose...

Berta is resting while Gina clumsily attempts to skulk. Under Berta’s sly glance Gina steals Renata’s brush from Roberta’s purse and hides it in her own. While Nata fusses over her sis Regina thought bubbles that Berta suffers from the same affliction as her father. She must somehow prove (comprobar) which of the two is her daughter, and all indications point to Roberta, not Renata as she had thought (and likely hoped).

Hons provides Gonzo with some novel and never-before-attempted advice, why doesn’t Gonzo just talk to Regina? Gonzo exclaims it to be a wonderful idea. He’ll talk to Gina and tell her that she can count on him. Hons is on a brain roll today. He thought bubbles that Pepa and Fina might be the same person as Coni suggested, so he asks Gonzo about Fina. Nope, Gonzo hasn’t heard a thing from her since the day Coni was attacked and he was talking to Fina at the house. He even tries to call her but no answer.

Carlos is happily reviewing with Jero some La Bonita plans, pointing out where the vines and new cellar will eventually be, when Lazaro escorts Ezequiel into the office. Ez nervously provides an info dump, revealing that Augustin has given Ez an assignment (encargo ), to steal a vine shoot (brota de sarmiento) from the mother plant for the Cruz de Amor vineyard because the one he had is dying from the plague. Laz confirms it was one of theirs. Jero sighs and said he knew about it, Karma’s a bitch, no?

Meanwhile Augustin, back in his sporty white windbreaker, is pitching a fit at the poor brota babysitter because his sprout is, dare I say it, dying on the vine. He calls the guy useless but this nanny’s got a pair of nalgas. He puffs his expansive chest at Augi, tells him it’s not his fault and besides, he knows a few things. Augi guffaws that the guy had better not become his enemy lest something happen to his family. Oops, I think that caused our vine tender just a wee bit of shrinkage.

Jero tells Ez they’ll give him a shoot, but I think he says it will be a sham shoot. Anyone??
Jero tells Ez from now on Ez can count on Jero’s full support, he’s not alone in this. Ez says he’s been a faithful worker but he’s done things he’s not proud of. Jero says this is a good time for Ez to start making amends (rectificar) and start over.

In the kitchen Kari seems to be coming out of her shell, or maybe it just those enthusiastic puppies popping out of her bodice. Whatever, the look is better than Beaten Down Frump. She and the other ladies are cooking dinner for Alfonsina (Caldo de Camarón) and Manuela wants to know if she has decided to take Padre’s monumentally stupid advice (that she wait a year to get married). Bummer, the answer is yes and Mati just shakes her head.

Yuck, now we visit Doc MakesMeHurl who slimily pumps the real Doc for info about his new identity. He gripes about starting over with no money, no woman, nada, boo frickin’ hoo. The real doc tells him at least he’s alive and maybe he’ll get out sooner than he thinks. Uh oh, cue the anvil.

Regina finally returns to the abandoned Coni to tell her Roberta is better after her serious tachycardia attack. She says they were both wrong about Renata, she’s now sure that Berta is her daughter. While Coni makes frustrated noises Regina blathers on about stealing Berta’s brush to get DNA proof. She weeps that if Berta is hers she doesn’t know what she’ll do because Roberta hates her. That makes two of us Ms. Banana-Curls-For-Brains (thanks daisynjay). Why don’t you shut your pie-hole and pay attention to someone besides yourself for once?

Berta tells Nata she’s glad “that woman” left. Sorry if she’s ungrateful but she’s not a hypocrite. (Uh, yes you are.) Nata’s amazed at Berta’s coldness but Berta thanks Nata for coming in spite of the hate Nata feels for her. Nata won’t deny there are some bad feelings but Berta is her sister and in spite of everything she loves her. Berta admits she feels very alone. “Well, duh what did you expect after betraying and lying to all of us?” Nata comments. Berta takes her engagement ring out of her jewelry box and tells Nata she was such an idiot. She notes what a coincidence that both half-brothers were in love with two sisters. Nata observes how sad that none of them succeeded in their love.

Hons, walking with Gonzo, gets a call from security telling him that the attack on his wife was generated from within (adentro) . It must have been a worker or someone with access to the property because nobody strange was seen going in or out.

Gonzo sees Regina and she apologizes about earlier. That’s nice but has she apologized to Inez yet? We’re still waiting for that one. She tells him she doesn’t feel like talking now and he tells her that the most difficult times to talk are times when one should talk.

Hons urges Eulalia, the poor Monterrubio maid, to think back on that day. Did she see Coni before the attack? Yes, she came to the house to get some things from the office. No, Fina wasn’t there but Berta was. Later she heard someone (females) arguing and they were the only ones in the house.

Berta takes Nata’s hand and cries into it, but Nata pulls away and rushes out of the room, leaving Berta to cry to herself alone, once again.

Berta pulls herself together and calls Fina to report that Regina was there. Both Gina and Nata came when Berta had a tachycardia attack and she watched Regina sneak Nata’s brush out of her own purse. Fina cackles that luck is on their side, bwahahahahaha!!! Mom, we’re waiting for you to ask your daughter how she’s doing after her tachycardia attack. Mom? Mom?

The maid continues that when the police came Fina had already gone. They haven’t seen her since but Roberta probably knows where she is. Nata shows up and Hons says he was just wondering if Fina had seen anything strange on the day of the attack.

Chema and Adri are stuffing their faces with all his pastries and chocolate covered strawberries. His dream is to go to France and study with the great great pasty chefs (reposteros). Sinister music plays as he get a headache attack.

Happier music at La Bonita. Doc Tata tells Jero over the phone that she has something important to tell him. He gets a text from Luciana that she gave the money to Regina. He calls Regina and she thanks him for the money and apologizes for not getting back to him. She’s been so dazed (tan atarantada). He makes her promise that when she’s ready to make the drop she’ll call him and he’ll come to Mexico. After they hang up she apologizes to him for lying to him but she couldn’t tell him the truth.

Carlos enters the office and gravely brings Jero the handwriting results. Fina Monterrubio DID write the La Bonita letter!!! Jero paces and howls That Woman is to blame for everything. Carlos suggests Jero calm down while they gather more proof. He knows Jero is thinking that Renata’s mother is Rafa’s killer. Carlos says while they start the investigation and gather proof they’d better not say anything to anyone. They agree this will be hardest on Renata.

Chema’s got a nasty ringing in his ears and a wringing in his brain. He tells Adri they’ll have to talk another day. She should leave, he’ll be fine. She’s not so sure.

Oh please, I don’t think I can take anymore of Coni’s moaning and groaning. Now Gonzo is tormenting her, saying he doesn’t know what she’s trying to tell him. She sees a pic of Fina on the nightstand and writhes with renewed fervor. Gonzo picks it up and says “You want to see her? You want me to bring her here?” Oh dude you are an incredible ass. It sounds like Coni is trying to say “ladrón” (thief).

Jero calls the comandante and instructs him to move forward with the investigation as quickly as possible. He gasps to Carlos that Fina could be the cause of all the evil to Rafa, Renata, Roberta, all of them. She killed her daughter’s boyfriend! Carlos says it’s hard to believe, is this woman Lucifer personified? Yep, pretty much. Jero won’t rest until he puts Fina in jail to pay for what she’s done. He is very sorry for himself and for Renata.

Now Gonzo, Hons and Regina are at Coni’s bed driving her crazy. Gonzo insists she was trying to say something about Fina and a baby. Coni thought bubbles “Honorio pay attention!” Gonzo tells her to conserve her strength and Gina suggests she stay there alone with Coni. Regina proceeds to torture Coni by telling her all the terrible things she knows about Fina but cannot reveal. Idiota.

Nata talks to Augi on the phone; he brags to her that he’s about to sample the best wine in the valley, el Vino Renacer, named after her. As she excitedly gushes he draws a barrel (barrica) tasting using his wine “thief”. He is about to taste his bodacious blend (mezcla). She wants him to describe everything to her. He swirls and gazes at it adoringly, sniffs, looks alarmed, and tastes. No puede ser!! He throws the glass on the ground, goes from tank to tank in a rage and really truly gets bright red in the face. Yikes, I think his wine is crap.

Kari dishes up Alfonsina’s Shrimp Soup and tells the others she’ll go by herself. She doesn’t want to bother Lazaro. Mati asks her what’s up with Kari and Laz? Is she sad because they’re not going to marry at the same time as she and Carlos? Kari says Laz just doesn’t seem into it. Kari and Manuela thing it’s all just too weird.

Augi bellows to Ez that the tanks have been tampered with. Ez insists that Augi is the only one who touches the tanks. Augi says they will pay very dearly for this. But who? wonders Ezequiel, who would do such a thing? Augi squacks obviously it’s someone who wants to hurt him and knows how to adjust the tank valves. Of course! Jero Linares or one of his people are responsible!

Doc Tata finally makes an appearance tonight. She tells Jero she’s decided to get a little house in town. She needs her freedom and at least Padre will be a bit happier. Jero agrees it’s a good idea and they can still be a pair. Kissy face.

Nata tells Adri and Hon that Augi’s harvest is ruined. Hons doesn’t even hear because he’s so worried about Coni. He wants to stay with her so she’s not alone. Nata and Adri decide to stay there instead of moving into Adri’s apartment. Good call team Girl Power.

Mopias brings home a guest, spare girl Julieta, and he announces he’s moving out. Nata wonders who the girl is and Adri mocks that she’s Hit-N-Run Spare Girl. Hon smiles at her jealousy.

Augi blasts into Jero’s love nest and accuses him of ruining his wine in vengeance. Jero swears he didn’t do anything. Augi plays dirty, insisting he has the only treasure that really matters to Jeronimo...Renata. Augi lies that she is no longer his girlfriend, she is his woman (implying sex). Doc Tata fidgets uncomfortably. Jero can barely speak and orders Augi to shut up and leave his house. Augi says Jero is a loser and an imbecile for rejecting a woman like Renata. That’s why he indulged himself by giving Nata the hot love that Jero couldn’t.

Jero hauls off and punches Augi in the face. That lower jaw juts and Augi hisses he’ll not return the favor, just like he’ll never return Renata to Jero, no matter what Jero does!

Poor Doc Tata doesn’t know what to make of these rutting rams as tonight's final scene closes with a whimper.

I didn't keep score but I think tonight the women might win the secret-keeping contest.

Avances: Hons tell Gonzo that Fina is the woman who tried to kill Coni.

Min-ho wishes Jung-woo luck with an evil laugh, and Jung-woo turns to see police arriving on the motel rooftop. He runs to the opposite staircase and dashes down, cops chasing him in increasing numbers now that he’s been spotted. Once he reaches the ground floor, he runs toward the street, then escapes detection by hiding under a truck.

Joon-hyuk arrives at Sung-kyu’s motel room with detectives who have preserved the scene as he requested. Police are still searching the area for Jung-woo, and the detectives tell Joon-hyuk that the 911 call was made anonymously from a pay phone. None of the surveillance cameras work since the motel is old, but they confirm that the stabbing victim was Jung-woo’s cellmate. While Sung-kyu undergoes emergency surgery, Joon-hyuk orders the detectives not to allow anyone to meet him once he’s out.

Min-ho calls Joon-hyuk and tells him that since he found Ha-yeon, now Joon-hyuk has to find the knife used to kill Ji-soo. The prosecutor asks if Min-ho was behind what just happened, but Min-ho simply says that a retrial mustn’t take place. Min-ho then checks in with Seok, who tells him that Sung-kyu is in the hospital and that he understands what he is to do. When Seok asks what to do with the sleeping Ha-yeon, Min-ho tells him to take her to the villa and lie low.

Jung-woo finally rejoins Eun-hye and gives her the bad news. She tells him that an ambulance took Sung-kyu and reveals that Min-ho is being investigated by prosecutors. Chul-shik calls and says he’s on the move to evade the police, and they arrange to meet up.

Yeon-hee watches a news report about Chamyung Group’s fraud investigation, thinking back to when she went to visit her father in jail. He’d told her to choose Sun-ho if she wanted to save him, because she couldn’t gain anything from Min-ho. Sometime later, she arrived home, only to collapse in shock at finding that her father had hanged himself. Now, she promises her late father that she’ll regain everything that was taken from him.

In his lair/office, Joon-hyuk ponders where Jung-woo might have hidden the murder weapon, rereading his investigation report as he tries to figure it out. Wow, this guy is reaching new lows every day.

Eun-hye arrives home to find detectives waiting for her, but she’s alone. When the detectives question her about where she went today, she tells them to get a warrant, and once in her bedroom, she collapses against the door while remembering her last conversation with Jung-woo.

She cautioned him against his course of action, telling him that it was too dangerous, but he told Eun-hye that he didn’t want to drag her into this further. He returned her phone and left with Chul-shik, promising to be in touch. Now she looks at Ha-yeon’s left-behind backpack and tells him to make sure he brings the little girl back.

Min-ho leaves the prosecutor’s office, fighting through a mob of reporters. His car is stopped at a light when it’s lightly rear-ended. Secretary Kim, who was driving, gets out to take care of it, and the car soon sets off again with Min-ho dozing in the back.

The car stops in a quiet lot, and Min-ho is told to get up… by none other than Jung-woo, who is in the driver’s seat. Chul-shik opens Min-ho’s door and drags him out, throwing him against a pile of junk so Jung-woo can have at him. Jung-woo punches Min-ho repeatedly, asking where Ha-yeon is. He pulls out Min-ho’s phone and forces him to call Seok, and he tells Seok to bring Ha-yeon if he doesn’t want Min-ho to die.

Min-ho laughs and says Jung-woo has just killed his daughter, and he orders Seok to do it. Jung-woo punches him repeatedly, but Min-ho just keeps laughing madly. Min-ho says that Jung-woo can’t kill him, but Chul-shik pulls out a mallet and declares that no one will know if he kills Min-ho right here. He swings at the man and misses by inches. Jung-woo holds him back, and when they hear sirens nearby, they leave after warning Min-ho not to harm Ha-yeon.

Joon-hyuk examines a map of Jung-woo’s route the night of the murder, trying to figure out where he might have hidden the knife, when he notices a rest stop along the way and leaves immediately to check it out.

Min-ho emerges from the emergency room to meet his similarly banged-up secretary, who apologizes for being unable to protect him. Min-ho asks him not to tell his father about it or report the incident to the police.

As they drive, Chul-shik urges Jung-woo not to worry—they’ll find the knife and get Ha-yeon back. He grins and says it felt good to beat up Min-ho after all he’s put them through. Jung-woo asks where he got the car, and Chul-shik says he got it from his gang’s maknae, the only member that still believes in him, adding, “Isn’t it comforting to have someone to trust right now?”

Jung-woo finally smiles, causing Chul-shik to grin and declare, “Park Jung-woo, I believe in you. You’re the only one who can prove my innocence.”

They arrive at Munan Rest Area, which is also where Joon-hyuk was headed. Chul-shik runs to the bathroom as Jung-woo retrieves the knife, which he buried at the base of a tree the last time he was here. As soon as he has it in his hands, Joon-hyuk calls his name. Argh!

Jung-woo asks how Joon-hyuk found him, and Joon-hyuk says that he knows everything before he tells Jung-woo to turn himself in. Jung-woo asks if he also knows who killed Ji-soo, and Joon-hyuk nods as he says that it was Cha Sun-ho—or rather, Cha Min-ho.

Jung-woo can’t understand why he’s doing this, but Joon-hyuk claims that there were no mistakes in his investigation; Jung-woo forged the evidence too perfectly (as though that’s somehow an excuse). Jung-woo says he had to do that to save Ha-yeon, but Joon-hyuk counters that he should have told him that Ha-yeon was alive.

“How could I trust you when you act like this?” asks Jung-woo. Joon-hyuk says he’s sorry, but he’s come too far now to turn back. (That old chestnut?) Jung-woo says he has to find Ha-yeon, but Joon-hyuk says the police will arrive soon.

Suddenly Chul-shik hits Joon-hyuk on the back of his head with a tree branch, and he drops in the most satisfying way. Jung-woo follows after his right-hand man, ignoring Joon-hyuk calling after him. Once they’re in the car, Jung-woo tells his absent ex-friend, “I’m going to turn everything around.”

Realizing he’s being scapegoated to take responsibility for Chamyung Group’s crimes, Min-ho goes to his father’s office and asks why he’s the one who has to take the fall for everything. Chairman Cha replies that someone has to, for Chamyung’s sake. Min-ho doesn’t understand why it needs to be him, but his father tells him that there was a whistleblower; besides, he should pay this price, since eventually everything will be his. Min-ho wonders if his father would have done this to Sun-ho, until it hits him that the old man has known all along that he’s Min-ho. His hands start to shake violently.

“Min-ho ended up like that because he didn’t want to spend fifteen years in prison,” says Chairman Cha. “But if people knew everything he did, his sentence wouldn’t be a mere fifteen years. Sun-ho, can’t you serve just a couple of years?” Recognizing this for the threat it is, Min-ho acquiesces and leaves. As he’s walking out, he ignores a call from Jung-woo, delighting at the thought that the man must be going crazy.

Detectives question Sung-kyu about who stabbed him, and he tells them that it was Jung-woo as Seok ordered him to do, since the baddies still have “evidence” that can frame Sung-kyu for Ji-soo’s murder. Meanwhile, Min-ho leaves work with a full escort of bodyguards as Jung-woo and Chul-shik watch and ponder their next move.

The deputy chief asks Joon-hyuk why he called for the police to go to Munan Rest Area the night before; he says he’d mistakenly thought Jung-woo was coming there. Prosecutor Choi comes in and asks Joon-hyuk if he’s heard anything about Jung-woo, and the deputy chief snaps that if he wants to help Jung-woo so much, he should just quit and become his lawyer. Prosecutor Choi replies that he’s prepared to resign, but first, he has something left to do. At that moment, Jung-woo calls Joon-hyuk saying that he wants to turn himself in.

Min-ho asks what will happen if he continues to deny all charges, but his legal team says that things are already settled between Chamyung and the prosecution. Once they leave, he asks Yeon-hee what Sun-ho would have done in his place. She says his father would never have done this to Sun-ho. Surprised, Min-ho asks why she never told him his father knew his true identity, but she says it wouldn’t have made a difference—he won’t be able to get out of this. He asks Yeon-hee what he should do now. She replies, “Abandon your father. Like he abandoned you.”

He’s mulling over her words when Joon-hyuk calls to tell him that Jung-woo plans to turn himself in. Taken aback, Min-ho immediately calls Jung-woo to ask to meet. Jung-woo demands to hear Ha-yeon’s voice first, and Min-ho transfers him to her (via conference call?) where she’s being held by Seok. She cries that she’s scared, and Jung-woo tearfully promises to pick her up soon. She asks about Uncle Sung-kyu, and Jung-woo tells her they’ll go see him next time. Min-ho agrees to make the exchange, but Jung-woo must come alone. Chul-shik is reluctant to let him go, but Jung-woo sees no other choice.

Mong-chi calls Woljung Penitentiary from a pay phone to ask why he wasn’t on the news, and the warden tells him that no one knows he’s gone, so he’d better get back quick or he’ll lose his job. Delighted at this unexpected leverage, Mong-chi asks for a favor.

Mil-yang, Gangster Hyung, and Rockfish are locked in the solitary confinement cells wondering about the fate of their friends when guards suddenly come to release them. The sudden end to their punishment makes them uneasy, and they’re even more surprised when they return to their cell to find a flummoxed Chinese food delivery man. Ha! He grumpily tells the delighted prisoners that the food is from Mong-chi.

Jung-woo and Min-ho park some distance away from each other in an empty lot and slowly exit their cars, communicating via phone. They start walking toward each other, but Min-ho suddenly says he’s changed his mind and throws Ha-yeon in his car. He speeds away while Jung-woo runs hopelessly after them. They’re soon beyond his reach, and Jung-woo drops to his knees, howling in despair.

Jung-woo surprises Prosecutor Choi in a parking garage, and he immediately asks his friend if he’s innocent, which Jung-woo affirms. The older man sighs in relief and gives him a long hug. When Jung-woo explains what happened, Prosecutor Choi suggests they handle it with the law so that Jung-woo can prove his innocence in a retrial, but Jung-woo says he must find Ha-yeon first.

Min-ho and his lawyer return to the prosecutor’s office, summoned by the Special Unit, and Min-ho waits alone in the interrogation room. A voice comes over the intercom: “Cha Min-ho. It’s me.” Min-ho laughs, recognizing Jung-woo’s voice, and remarks that he must be very angry. He tries to exit the room, but finds the door locked. Jung-woo tells him that no one will come for the next two hours.

Min-ho plays it cool and tries to bait Jung-woo with the false story of his crimes, but he ignores him and says, “Bring Ha-yeon.” Min-ho asks why Jung-woo is asking him for his dead daughter, and Jung-woo asks if he’s afraid of being recorded. “Don’t you know that our situation won’t change because of mere recordings?” Min-ho drops the act and asks flatly why Jung-woo is here, since there’s nothing he can do.

“I found something I can do,” says Jung-woo. “Make you go insane.” Min-ho asks how, and Jung-woo holds his phone up to the microphone. “Mom,” comes Eun-soo’s voice, and then we hear Yeon-hee tell him to go to his room while she talks to the visitor. Oh, snap. Jung-woo’s not playing nice anymore.

Hiding his anger, Min-ho smiles and asks why Jung-woo is suddenly involving his sister-in-law and nephew—is he going to kill them? He mocks Jung-woo, saying he doesn’t have the guts to do it. Jung-woo recalls Eun-hye telling him about a rumor that Eun-soo is actually Min-ho’s son, and says, “You’re right. I can’t do it, but it won’t be a big deal for Shin Chul-shik, who’s in your house.”

Chul-shik asks from Jung-woo’s phone, “When should I kill them? Just say the word.” Min-ho remembers Chul-shik threatening to kill him with the mallet and finally loses his cool, banging on the one-way mirror.

We flash back to reveal their plan: Jung-woo gave Chul-shik an envelope and told him to take it to Min-ho’s place and stay there for two hours, but he warned him not to scare them. Now, in Min-ho’s living room, a smartly dressed Chul-shik puts his phone down and shows Yeon-hee some documents on the pretext that Prosecutor Choi sent him to confirm a few details.

In the interrogation room, Min-ho screams that if something happens to Eun-soo, Ha-yeon will die, and Jung-woo says, “So it’s true that he’s your son.” Min-ho freezes in the act of pulling out his phone, and Jung-woo says if he calls, both Yeon-hee and Eun-soo will die. Regaining his equilibrium, Min-ho mockingly praises Jung-woo for his plan, then suggests again that they exchange Ha-yeon for the knife. But Jung-woo’s not playing anymore, and he refuses. “I’ll give you an hour. Bring Ha-yeon.”

Min-ho completely loses it, laughing madly as he repeatedly throws a chair at the glass. Jung-woo tells him it won’t break—he’s tried it. Outside, Prosecutor Choi guards the door, unsure if he’s doing the right thing. The Special Unit prosecutor approaches to question Min-ho, but Prosecutor Choi tells him to come back in two hours.

An hour passes, and Jung-woo calls Chul-shik, holding the phone up to the mic again. The gangster asks who he should stab first. At this, Min-ho caves, and Jung-woo orders him to make the call.

Eun-hye and Tae-soo drive to a busy playground to search for Ha-yeon among the children. They spot a girl at the edge of the sand with her back toward them. Tae-soo runs up to her and says her name, and Ha-yeon looks up at her uncle. They embrace, both sobbing in relief.

The door to the interrogation room opens, and Min-ho rushes to the observation room next to it, but it’s empty. He calls Yeon-hee and frantically confirms that she and Eun-soo are okay, then asks Seok where Ha-yeon is. The henchman says he let her go, and Min-ho furiously yells at him to go get her back.

In a church, Mother Oh prays earnestly, while behind her, Ha-yeon walks through the door and calls, “Grandma.” The old woman stares at her granddaughter in joy and disbelief, and the two have a tearful reunion as Tae-soo and Eun-hye look on.

Jung-woo walks in the door, and Mother Oh and Ha-yeon turn to see him. Ha-yeon calls, “Daddy!” and runs into his arms, and they hug each other tightly, saying how much they missed each other. Ha-yeon asks if this is a dream, and Jung-woo assures her it’s not while thanking her for being safe and telling her that he loves her. Excuse me for a moment — I can’t see through my tears to type.

Joon-hyuk receives the news that Jung-woo has both Ha-yeon and the knife and throws a little tantrum. The deputy chief comes into his office, looking grave, and they both go out to the front of the building, where a mob of reporters has gathered. A van pulls up, and Jung-woo exits, followed by Ha-yeon. Jung-woo kneels before his daughter and reassures her that the world won’t turn its back on them.

Then he stands before the reporters and tells them, “My daughter is alive. I’m turning myself in to prove my innocence.” Father and daughter smile at each other.
