She drops a trinket box to the floor and awakens her guest Leti. Leti assumes Lucia's clumsiness is due to her staying over and dumping all of her problems on Lucia. Lucia assures her friend that everything is ok. Lucia also lets Leti know that she didn't call her mother as they had agreed, instead her father Alonso went over in person to let Sara know of Leti's plans to stay the night at the Gax house. I guess that means your Dad knows? Yes, does that bother you? Leti says no because it was a secret that would have come out anyway and no doubt her mother would have confided in Alonso anyway since they are such good friends. As Leti focuses on picking up the baubles on the floor, Lucia continues to sense that something, somewhere is wrong. Where were you? Demands Rebecca, who it appears was waiting downstairs for her property to arrive home. Al says he had a personal issue to take care of. What kind of issue? I don't care to discuss this with you I'm tired and I want to go rest. Rebecca knows there's no other place Al could have gone to at this hour. You went to see your adored Sara didn't you? Yes, I did. I'm going to remind you that woman is in love with you and you just love encouraging her, but it's disrespectful, not only to me but to Nora as well. Al says he doesn't owe her any explanation, but he didn't go to see Sara the way Rebecca thinks. Sara and Leti had a problem and his place as a friend is to go and offer support. The way Sara has done for him a thousand times. Rebecca can't stand to be reminded of it and she throws it up at Al how he obviously feels he has never had the kind of support that Sara offers him. He's also naïve because he doesn't see that Sara uses her profession as a way to wow him. Al tells her she isn't in a position to demand explanations from him. Well just remember I am still your wife whether you like it or not. Al says as you just said..whether I like it or not. Without another word Al turns his back on Rebecca and heads up the stairs. Furious, Rebecca continues to yell. We are not finished! I'm going to stay your wife until death separates us….I will not give a clear path to that stupid woman! Did you hear me?! Al has neither given her a backward glance or answer as he disappears into his guest room. Magda drops by Mario's tasteful bachelor pad to offer her support. He tells her that his secretary Ligia didn't show up for work all day, so he asked Sergio to go by and check on here. When he got into her apartment he found her dead and it appeared to be strangulation. Mario tells Magda he feels bad; Ligia had been his secretary for a long time but he doesn't know anything about her, or who to call to let them know of her death. Magda does her usual questioning, what do you mean? Didn't she have family? Or what about a boyfriend? Mario says as far as he knows she had a relationship with a married man. Magda ask if Mario told the police that, because maybe it could provide a clue. Mario says it didn't really occur to him and he wonders if he should. This man might have a family and it could put him in a bad situation if he had nothing to do with it. Magda doesn't think there can by anything worse than what happened to the woman, but he's the attorney and he knows better than her what's best in this situation. Mario is so twisted up by the whole thing that he can't think clearly what is right. Magda offers to stay with him. Mario says he would love that. Wow, who knew death could make Magda so frisky? Sergio is questioned by detective Juarez who wants to know what Sergio's relationship was with Ligia. Sergio says they were simply coworkers. She was already working at the law firm when he started and they got along well. Detective J implies that if he and Ligia got along well than most likely she would have confided in him about a relationship she was having with someone after all a woman like her most likely wasn't alone. Well I guess. Detective J jumps all over it taking that as an affirmative that Sergio knew something, but he once again asserts that he and Ligia were just co workers and anything regarding her personal life was her business. Detective Juarez doesn't believe Sergio, he's hiding something. Sergio doesn't know why Det J would think that when he's the first person who wants to find out who did this to her. They let Sergio leave and Det J, asks his sidekick to get the front desk woman at the apartment to come in. Vini is smoking a cigarette in his little office when there's loud knock at his door. He answers it to find a bleeding and slumped over Marcelo outside his door. What happened to you? Marcelo asks Vini to help him. Meanwhile at Marcelo's place nanny Rafi who didn't get the memo that Marcelo is a grown ass man now is worried because he is not tucked into his bed yet. She calls his cell and gets his vm. She leaves a message for him to call her, it's very late and she's worried about him. Through another puff of cigarette smoke Rebecca remembers her fight with Al, over the usual..Sara. I'm never going to leave the way free for you Sarita. Rebecca says aloud after stubbing out her ciggy. The phone rings and having a phone in her room, Rebe is able to answer it. These are not hours to be calling! Slam! Unless of course it's a hot man twenty years younger or so. Which of course was not that case since it was Vini on the other end, who tries furiously to dial the Gax house again, only to receive a busy tone this time. Who was that? Asks sNora who casually wanders into her mother's room. Rebe says she doesn't know, they hung up. sNora brings up the argument she overheard earlier between Rebe and Al. Rebecca corrects her and says they were discussing his enthusiasm for another woman. Who? Asks sNora. Rebecca says it's the mother of your sister's best friend. What do you think about that? sNora thinks its outrageous but she doesn't think her father would dare. Rebecca tells sNora her father is no saint and so she's not always the bad guy in this story. She warns her daughter not to be surprised if one day Al replaces her and sNora too. sNora says she's his daughter, he'll never do that. Oh yeah? Well let me remind you that you are not his favorite daughter. Way to keep your daughter down and in line Rebecca. What a loving mother you are. sNora now angry and disturbed by her mother's comments sees Al coming down the hall. I heard the phone, who was that calling? sNora tells him she doesn't know but, it wouldn't surprise her if it was his girlfriend Sara. Excuse me? I know about everything Dad, so don't act innocent with me. Al says he has no idea what her mother has told her but it's too much that you would complain. sNora isn't having though and she says she doesn't want to hear his explanations, all she will say is that doesn't agree with any of this and if he leaves her mother for that woman he can forget about sNora for good! Al goes after her. Ring Ring! This time Vini calls Nazario who isn't too happy that his phone is off in the hallway instead of on his nightstand like most folks. Anyway he gruffly answers and after a bit realizes who Vini is. Naz gets the news and chastises the man for calling him instead of the ambulance who should already have picked up Marcelo. Naz tells Vini to get to Normita's desk and find her address book where he'll find the number to hospital Santa Elena, call them stat and get an ambulance. Naz will meet them there. Lord, help that boy! Mario sits nervously and the bathroom door suddenly opens. Magda comes out in a pair of his pajamas. He apologizes for not having something more comfortable for her, but she says it's perfect. Mario tentatively takes her hands and comments that they are sweating. She awkwardly admits that while she had a relationship with Ricardo they never quite got that far. Mario tells her if it's any consolation he's dying of nerves too. He gently kisses her, easing some of her nerves. In return she closes the gap and kisses with much more passion. Back at casa Gax Lucia finds her father in his study, it's late and he obviously had no success in calming down sNora. She in turn tells her father the reason she's up is becaue she's restless. He assumes it's because of Leti's issues, but she tells him it's that also something more, but she'll feel better in the morning. She then turns her attention to the situation that has become obvious in the house among the three women; if it's true, what she's heard about him and Sara from her tia Rebecca. Al denies it and says what there is between them is great friendship and he feels grand affection for her but… Lucia assumes her father wishes there could be more between them. She tells her Pa she wants him to be happy but as long as he's married, well. Al assures Lucia that it's only a friendship and he has done nothing to be ashamed of. He tells her they need to get to bed. At the hospital Vini is all chipper when he sees Naz. I don't know how he faced Naz so calmly after what he did to Trini. This seals it for me that Vini is missing some badly needed brain cells. Anyway Naz is like what's so good about it, just tell me what happened. So the bumbling criminal gives Naz the 411 on what happened or at least his version of events. We don't know yet if this guy is the ice pick picker. Well I came to work and young Marcelo was still working late and he told me he would check in with me when he was leaving. He never did or maybe he did but I was out doing my rounds. Anyway, later I hear the door knocking and I opened it and he was there all full of blood. Naz asks if Marcelo said anything but Vini says nope, he was out of it. Vini says he knew the first thing he needed to do was call Al but when he did a woman answered and then hung up on him right away. So the next person he thought of was Naz. Naz tells Vini he's got it from there, to scoot off to the fabrica. Vini is all later dude! Naz asks the nurse to locate Dr. Sara Ezquerra Brigi wakes up and notices Amadiva is out of bed and hears the television. He's in a chair drinking and obviously following the news..for signs of anything regarding Ligia. Brigi cautions him about drinking while on antibiotics and he tells her nothing's going to happen. He looks like crap and Brigi asks him what is wrong; she knows it's more than the fabrica and she wants to help him. Amadiva appears to be broken and on the verge of losing it, he tells Brigi if she knows what it is to tell him. Brigi says she's been thinking of the phone call she received awhile back from the person who said Amador was cheating on her. She thinks it could have something to do with that. Don't says stupid things Brigida. Brigida says if Amador is tired of her to please tell her, because anything would be better than living in this hell. Amador tells Brigi in no uncertain terms that if this is a hell, the why doesn't she get out of here. Are you going to tell your son that too? Don't bring Rodrigo into this. Well whether you like it or not, he's already in it. Or are you so blind that you can't see that every time he drifts further away from you. It seems as if you don't even care about your son, as if you hate him. Amador obviously aware of what he's just done to save Rod's hide amid his own pain and feelings of betrayal, tells Brigi, you don't have the slightest idea of all the things I've done for Rod. If you knew even just a tiny bit of what I've done you wouldn’t be saying this. Brigi has no idea, but tears roll down her face at the depth of despair and sadness her husband is obviously struggling with. Back at the hospital the nurse informs Naz that Dr Esquerra will not be able to come, she has a personal family issue. Right then the attending doc comes out looking for Marcelo's family. Naz steps up and says he's the closest thing to it right now so the doc informs him that Marcelo is in bad shape, he's lost a lot of blood. They're going to operate and even if Marcelo is young, there are no guarantees. It's the wee hours of the morning, and the Gax doorbell is going off like a pinball machine! Lucia who has fallen asleep at her desk wakes up, followed by Leti who must think it's a TMZ alert (wink) No girl, go back to sleep. Lucia heads down to find Naz now giving the 411 to Al about someone who is in the hospital. Who? Al tells her to sit down but she wants to stay standing and get her morning news. Well it's Marcelo, says Don Naz who doesn't soften up anything for anyone. He gives her the ugly truth, Marcelo was attacked last night coming out of the fabrica. Al wants to know why they're just finding out. Naz tells him that Vini was the one who found Marcelo and he did call here first but he was hung up on by some one. Who? A woman. Naz says he tried calling the house too but he got a busy tone and Al's cell phone was off. He also had no number to call Marcelo's mom. Lucia meanwhile has picked up the foyer phone to discover a steady busy tone. The phone is off the hook at the only other phone in the house…the master bedroom! Claws are out and Lucia is pouncing up like a bobcat ready to rumble. Al chases after her but he's too slow and she's already at the bedside phone before he can stop her. What's going on? Why are you coming in like this? Asks a groggy Rebecca. Lucia confirms the phone is off the hook and yanks the bed covers back. Aww yeah, she's coming for you Rebecca, get those pillows up around yer pretty face! You knew what happened and you didn't say anything! You knew Marcelo was sick and you hung up the phone so no one would know. Rebe for once tells the truth, sort of. She tells Lucia she has no idea what she's talking about. Lucia is all biatch don't you play me, you sure did know and you tried to keep the rest of us from knowing and I'm gonna snatch your hair til your real hair color shows. Lucia tosses that phone and gets in the bed ready to flip that mattress with Rebecca in it. Fortunately for Rebecca Al steps in telling Rebecca that there were some calls that came in late last night. She shouldn't deny it because he knows she answered it. Yes, but it was no one they hung up. They hung up? Or you hung up on them? Okay well I did it but it was because it was late to be receiving calls. Al tells her that it was the fabrica calling to say that Marcelo had been attacked. Rebecca is shocked. Really? Is he okay? Al tells her his situation is serious and he's very delicate right now. Lucia shaken from sheer anger, tells her tia that she better pray that everything turns out ok, because if not, she swears she's going to regret it. Out in the hall Lucia breaks down and Al tells her she needs to calm down first before going to the hospital. Lucia is afraid Marcelo is going to die, but Al tells her that Marcelo is very strong and he's going to be okay, she has to change her attitude. She agrees and says she's going to think about it all being okay. Al tells her to get changed and go with her padrino and he will change and go tell Marcelo's mom. This is news she should get in person and not over the phone. Lucia says Marcelo's mom doesn't live with him anymore. Do you know where? Lucia is too rattled at the moment to think clearly and she says she will give him the directions in a minute. Al comforts her once again, Marcelo is going to be fine. May God hear you Dad! I'll tell you who doesn't hear a thing...sNora and Leti. Those two have slept through it all. Thank you God, that's at least one prayer answered. Back at the mah-velous Mario's, the sun is shining and he awakens to find Magdalena is not in bed next to him. He sits up as she comes in clad in his pajamas, with a breakfast tray and beaming smile on her face. Good morning! Mario wonders what he did to get so much attention. Magda says it's her way of showing him how happy she is when she's…sigh…with him. Oh Mario..you naughty layer…er lawyer you! Mario asks her, really? Yes, really. Mario tells her it was the best night of his life. Magda says it was hers too. The two appear ready for it to be the best morning of their lives but alas Magda has to shower and get ready for work plus Don Nazario will be wondering why she didn't come home last night. Mario says he's got a lot to do too, he's got to take care of things with Ligia. Magda says she's really sorry about it, but if he needs anything to let her know. He says she's done plenty already *wink-wink* It would appear our spinster Magda has a great bedside manner... in the bed as well as out. Oooh these two are sauce-ay! At the Zuniga house, Sergio makes an early visit. Brigi isn't too happy but Sergio tells her he needs to see Rod. As usual, Brigi what's to know what it's about. Sergio tells her as politely as possible that it's personal. She tells him Rod is upstairs in his room and to follow her up. She gives one last attempt to get it out of him, by saying it so mysterious, but Serge doesn't give her a morsel. In the bedroom sitting like a zombie on the side of the bed, Amador asks who that was. It's obvious he's in agony waiting for that news or maybe for the police to just come already. Brigi tells him it's Sergio, Rodrigo's friend. I don't know what was so urgent that he came to look for him so early. Amador is perked up now. Wasn't that the guy that worked with Rod at Mario Hernandez law firm? I think so why? Amador says for no reason, but Brigi is certainly picking up on some Amadiva ain't right vibes. She says she's going to bathe. Meanwhile Sergio tells Rod he's been trying to get in touch with him all night but he didn't answer or the cell was off. He didn't want to call Rod's home, because nosy ears and all. Rod wants to know what's so urgent. It's about Ligia …she was murdered. Rod jumps up in shock and Sergio fills him in on the details. It appears she was strangled, I found her yesterday. They think she had been already dead for at least twenty four hours. So they killed her two days ago? Yes, tell me the truth Rod, when was the last time you saw Ligia. Wait, you aren't thinking that I …? Sergio however is looking out for his friend. He wants to know if there's a way to connect his friend to any of this. Rod says he doesn't know and he immediately lies to protect himself. It was a week ago, maybe more. Are you sure? Yes. Who could have done this? Sergio says they don't know the police are investigating. Outside in the hallway, Amador listens and is obviously panicked. Panicked and worried, Lucia comes in to the hospital eager to know how Marcelo is. The nurse informs them that he's still in the operating room and soon the surgeon will be out to give them some info. Lucia breaks down and confesses to her padrino that she's worried Marcelo will die. Naz tells her just as Al, that Marcelo isn't going to die. Lucia beats herself up for all of the horrible things she said to Marcelo about being a bad person and how she would never forgive him. The truth is that she loves Marcelo with all of her soul. Naz hugs her and says she didn't need to tell him. Lucia worries for Marcelo's mom when she finds out, she already lost a son. Naz says she's not going to lose another son. Lucia also worries for poor Rafi did anyone call her? Naz says he left his house in such a rush that he left all the numbers. Lucia say Rafi loves Marcelo like he was her own son and she leaves to go call her. Naz says if the doctor comes out he'll go look for her. Mili is up and ready for her day about to have her tea when her phone buzzes that she has a guest. She's relieved that Rafi has at least shown up on time. She gives the code on the phone and instructs her guest to enter and then heads to the front door to unlock it. She begins giving orders to clean the disgusting kitchen, when Al awkwardly greets her. Embarrassed Mili explains the situation. Al reintroduces himself and Mili of course remembers him. He tells her he's there to give her some news and for her to take this as calmly as she can. She immediately knows it's about her son. Al gives her scant details at first only saying he was assaulted last night but she tells him to stop beating around and tell her what happened to her son and how he is. Al gives her the straight news. He was stabbed in the stomach with something and he's in surgery right now. Mili's legs give a bit but she recovers nicely and insists she wants to go with her son. Al says he'll take her right away. She goes to get her purse from her bedroom and sees Fede's picture staring back at her. She begs him not to take his brother from her. Rod walks his bud Sergio out and tells him to let Rod know where Ligia's funeral will be. Sergio doesn't think it would be a good idea for Rod to go. Rod doesn't know why, apart from what happened between them, the were coworkers. Sergio says whatever but either way they don't know who is going to claim her or where she's going to be buried. What he needs to know is if Rod knows the name of Ligia's cousin from Mexico who was staying with her for a few days. Rod immediately flashes back to the last time he saw Whine-nelia and the glee she had at discovering that Rod had a side delivery business of fresh deli meats and that Ligia was a customer. Sergio asks him again if he knows her name and Rod plays dumber than usual and tells Sergio sorry buddy, I don't know. The two bro's hug it out and Rod walks back into the house to have Amadiva ask what his buddy wanted. Rod lies and tells his father that Sergio brought a job lead to Rod. Amador tells his son that he doesn't need that job lead because he already has a business plan in place and he wants his son to be part of it. Rod says thanks but no thanks, he wants to make his own way this time and have his own job. That way if he does something stupid as his father say, he won't take him down with him. Amador tells his son to stop, he's doing this for him and for his future. Rod says well forgive me for doubting it, but you only think of yourself. Amador tells Rod to not be ungrateful, Rod has no idea of the things that he's done for him, so many more things than…. Rod jumps in having heard this same song before. Well finish Dad, so many more things than..I deserve? Isn't that what you were going to say? Amador says he wasn't going to say that, Rod is his son and he matters to him. Rod isn't buying it and walks away as Amador is left with the news of Ligia's death staring him in the face from the newspaper. Woman strangled in her own apartment. He tears the article out with his bare hands and crumples it up obviously wishing it was all a bad dream. Meanwhile Detective J asks his sidekick if they've found out about that note they found in the apartment. Do we know who the number belonged to? Nope but we're working on it. Detective J isn't happy, he wanted it like yesterday. Well we've been calling it but no one answers. We'll try some more. Mario arrives and enquires if anyone has claimed Ligia's body yet. Detective J says not yet and Mario says well then he will. Detective J says he remembers but it will be awhile before they release her body; as an attorney Mario should know that when someone dies in this matter there are procedures to follow. Mario tells the PI that last night he was asked if he might know anyone who could have murdered his secretary and he said no. And now you do? Mario says no but I do have some information that might be useful. What? Mario makes it clear that he's not singling out anyone because he can't prove anything, but at one time Ligia had a relationship with a married man. What's this man's name? Amador…Amador Zuniga.
